    I've watched both the 2023 and 2024 best water softner reviews and understand your are making the videos to promote and inform people on products you sale. The problem I'm having is the top 3 brands you have recommended wich are americian made aren't sold direct to consumer and there are no dealers available. Was wonderig if you have any recommendations for products sold directly to consumer ?

      Installation is hard to define. Sometimes it takes several feet of copper or poly tubing to install a system. How that’s mounted how that is installed drastically change the price of the installation. Also, if you use a licensed plumber that can drastically change the price. I highly recommend using a licensed plumber because they are touching the drinking water of the home. They have gone through rigorous education and testing to ensure you and your family safety. Overall I see a basic install running around $900. That is just for the water softener. Usually I see $900 for just the reverse osmosis system. As you can imagine a plumber in Arkansas is paid substantial less than one in Chicago or Los Angeles. Please adjust accordingly.

    I have an older Whirlpool unit that needs replaced, the drain is going about 8' up to the sewer line. Is this incorrect? It's located in the basement and there is no floor drain. Should it be run into the sump pump area for the basement which I see as the only option?

      @AngelWater  4 місяці тому

      WARNING... That is called cross contamination. You can get Krone disease from drinking your tap water. Please get a new system and disconnect that old water softener ASAP. Yes run new drain to sump and have it air gapped. Thank you for watching our videos.

    • @AngelWater
      @AngelWater  5 місяців тому

      Haug is an OK system. It’s best suited for city water with low hardness. They jampacked the resin tank with filter material which precludes it from having free board. Free board is necessary to release the contaminants that it is captured. I prefer other American manufactured products. Keep in mind to look for NSF 44 certification on a water softener.

    My whole house sediment filter clogs after 1 month of use and I lose water pressure. I am looking to replace it with a sediment filter auto cleans every few days via backwash so I can get out of the monthly filter changing business. How much am I looking at to have that installed? I already have a good working pressure tank, softener and reverse osmosis unit that feeds sink and fridge. I'm in the west Chicago burbs.

      As long as you don't have bacteria in your water, you can use a backwashing AG Filter. My guess is that you have an Iron Bacteria Issue. The way you check for that is by lifting the lid on the back of your toilet, if you see orange slim on the walls of that toilet, its actually Iron bacteria clogging those filters. If you have that you need to chlorinate your well or get a chlorine injection system. An AG Filter will run you about $1800

      Been there--go to the 4.5-diameter big blue filters. Use the 20 inch long canisters. Use a set of three filters in line with progressively finer filters. Finally, USE PLEATED FILTERS because they have massively more surface area. Set up right, you should get up to a year, before needing to change the filters. Us Water systems is a good source for pleated filters.

    I have an ecowater r30 and I have replaced 2 water heaters and replaced the anodes in the new heaters within a year of being installed. They have a rotten egg smell.
    I have also had to replace faucets multiple times.
    What could be causing these issues with the system?
    Also, the hardness is 4 instead of normal 8, so it is filtering about half.
    Also, they mentioned it being a 30,000 grain unit but it regens after about 12,000
    36:50

    • @AngelWater
      @AngelWater  5 місяців тому

      Paul, the hardness should not be before it should be close to zero. Can you please go check all your toilets to make sure they’re not leaking or overflowing? There is an overflow tube in the back of every toilet. Make sure that the water is not overflowing and make sure your rubber seals/flapper is not leaking. I am not sure what type of water heater you have but that sounds crazy. It is unlikely that the hardness in the water is ruining those water heaters. There are electric magnesium rods that you can use to replace their standard rod. We love these. These electric rods we use on troubling water cases like yours.

      My mom taught me a great lesson.. If you have nothing good to say dont say anything..
      Look at their website and click on the map. You will see that they don't have a factory. They simply take a valve and relabel it. They do get a unique cover that is different than everyone else but that is all it is.. So they are a Sticker Company. Thats ok just admit it. Also, I don't see NSF44 Certification. I dont see a commitment of being made in America... Not Assembled in America. Also they should commit to the type of filter material they are using. Most use Chinese and this drastically limits the life of the system. I love doing a google map search and then clicking on the satellite view. You see right away which companies are real by the fact that its not a huge location and or they have no sign outside their building. Now why do you think they dont have a sign on their building.... SO THEY CANT BE FOUND... Anyway I hope this helps.

    I am currently looking to buy a home water softener system. I watched all the 2023 and 2024 best softener videos and I appreciate your enthusiasm, but there are a few problems….
    1. You never explain WHY softeners made in China are a problem, and why USA made softeners are better. The only differentiator that you explained is the NSF rating, but you never explained why the physical product is better or worse.
    2. You never explained what the actual differences are between good and bad filter media/resin. It would help to understand the differences to justify the higher price systems. If I actually understood why the different resins matter, and how they are different, that would sway me to a better system.
    3. You Never explained how or why big box softeners fail more often, and why sticker or professional units last longer. Is the grade of plastic different? Are the circuit boards encapsulated? Are the tolerances tighter?
    4. You didn’t review controls. Are some easier to use or more robust than others? Do some have Wi-Fi enabled?
    Decent video, but I didn’t learn enough to buy from you yet. Unfortunately similar videos have the same issue. Lots of unsubstantiated opinions and anecdotes, and little facts. Help us really understand the differences. Otherwise it feels like a used car sales pitch.

    • @phoenixfabrications6432
      @phoenixfabrications6432 4 місяці тому +3

      Here are a response to all your questions. I hope this helps. I am not Drew with Angel Water, but just responding with my experiences.
      1. You never explain WHY softeners made in China are a problem, and why USA made softeners are better. The only differentiator that you explained is the NSF rating, but you never explained why the physical product is better or worse.
      There are several problems with some, not all, but some Chinese softener/refiners. Chinese standards, quality of materials, and ethics are not the same as the USA. When you have a problem with a Chinese made softener getting parts or service can also be much more difficult, especially as your refiner ages, so you want to make sure you chose a company you can reliably call to get parts and service, replacement filter components for years to come. Just today I was speaking with someone who used to pay $60-$80 dollars for their RO filters, but now with the scarcity they have become with the manufacturer no longer being around, the filters now cost $200 each as they are only made by third parties re-manufacturing the filters. His system was 5 years old.
      2. You never explained what the actual differences are between good and bad filter media/resin. It would help to understand the differences to justify the higher price systems. If I actually understood why the different resins matter, and how they are different, that would sway me to a better system.
      There is a lot of info to go over here, but just like anything else, the long and short of it, is someone always makes it best. Once again, Canada and USA adhere to extremely high standards when manufacturing and curing their resin and filter media's. Then to further that point, USA and Canadian filter medias, the great ones always get their medias tested by the National Sanitation Foundation or NSF and they send dirty water through the resin and media and review what has been removed from a laboratory stand point. Lastly, with professional companies, you always now your getting new resin and media and not some re-used media... sadly, I've seen sticker companies have resin that only lasts 5-7 years.
      3. You Never explained how or why big box softeners fail more often, and why sticker or professional units last longer. Is the grade of plastic different? Are the circuit boards encapsulated? Are the tolerances tighter?
      Its the grade of quality of everything, Big box brands have to really cut corners and downsize their systems to make them very inexpensive. Same with sticker brands. Also you have to look at how long they are going to warranty the system and what that warranty covers. Most never cover the filter media, so if your system comes DOA with bad media, you might have to pay to re-bed your brand new system after just a few months of it working perfectly.
      4. You didn’t review controls. Are some easier to use or more robust than others? Do some have Wi-Fi enabled?
      Yes, some are easier than others, some are also wifi, some work with whole home water shut offs for emergencies. But this varies soooo much. Once you set it up once, really you only check your wifi app to see how much salt is left in the system before you need to add more.
      I hope this helped!

      Dear @@AngelWater
      The article you're referring to is written by an author who preferred to stay anonymous in addition to quoting anonymous "doctors":
      >A short time after the installation, a member of the family was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, which, doctors said, resulted from drinking the contaminated water.
      Who's that doctor, specifially? Does s/he have a name?

      Crohn disease is an AUTOIMMUNE condition. AUTOIMMUNE means that the body's immune system mistakes its own healthy tissues as foreign and attacks them. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with quality of food or water a person consumes.

      @@AngelWater Please go google that lawsuit and you'll see that Crohn isn't mentioned anywhere else other than in that article by Joe Doe.
      In fact, a person can drink pure sewage and never get Crohn.
