I had a guy spot me a couple weeks ago on the front squat - he said my form was good, but asked where I'm pushing with me foot - I haden't thought about it before! He told me push with the middle of your foot. Instant results, I feel less lower back pressure, and connect better with my quads.
Pretty sure that was just her saying "wow". I think we could do without a bunch of weirdos making everything sexual that they possibly can when it comes to women. She's a human, she probably reads these comments. Also no, just because I'm not treating a woman like absolute trash, does not mean that I am trying to sleep which whatever woman (or man) happens to be in whatever video in question. Insecure minds think alike.
I’m struggling with squats for ages and actually lost hope to be able to fix it once. When I saw this move It blew my mind and instantly I knew that’s the shit I’m looking for! Can’t wait to try! Thank you so much for the inspiration!!! ❤
I've noticed you rarely post videos anymore so I was wondering Eugene, have you stopped making UA-cam videos. I'm asking because I enjoy your instruction and I'm curious to know if you are putting out more, this is sincere, not some jerk Thnkx for your time
Doing that this week for sure. I always end up pushing through my toes and it’s frustrating that I can’t force myself to correct it. Hopefully this helps!
DUUUUUDE! THIS IS EXACTLY JUST THE VIDEO I NEEDED!!!! I've made huge progress in the weights that I squat and as the load has gotten seriously intense, I've really been working on tightening up all those small details in my form/technique, many of which are not really noticeable from an outside observer looking at you. Mentally checking off all these boxes in my head and focusing hard has made a really big difference for my progress but one thing I've seriously struggled with is maintaining that mid-foot center of gravity.. whenever I'm doing my warmup sets, it's never a problem and my bar path is what I'd say pretty damn clean. But when I get to my working set, bar path is real clean going down, but on the ascent, my weight ever so slightly shifts forward putting more on my load on my quads/knees and a bit on the lower back because it makes it really easy for my hips to rise faster than my chest and on the last rep, it may look like I'm kind of doing a mid range of motion good morning, lol! No bueno. I think I just have very poor proprioception of my feet and its structure as I'm squatting. But I recently upgrading my lifting shoes to the wide toebox Tyr L-1s and right away it felt so much easier to grip the group with splayed toes and get that tripod feet pressure going on. But on heavy working sets, I still kind of had that weight shift problem, but not as much. I think this little addition to my warmup sets is exactly what I needed to increase my awareness of my feet and balance when I squat. Thanks! Cant believe I never thought of this!
Yeah I definitely need to try this, I always feel sort of unbalanced when doing barbell squats. Like my right quad does more work than the left, but my left glute works more than the right.
Yeah I feel like this is less of a "connecting with ground" problem and more of a connecting with your own feet problem lol, don't get me wrong squat shoes are awesome but you really need to learn how to use your whole lower body including the foot first. Tldr if you know how to connect with the ground you know how to connect with your shoes to the ground so do it barefoot first
Or you can practice using the ”3-points” of the foot, which you do in Weightlifting. Once you get the mind-muscle(foot) connection, plus technique training for squat in general, you dont have that issue again.
We put the plates under our toes to keep the weight on our heels as we do this. It's proper form, considering how the ankle attaches to the foot. It does not attach in the middle
Should you have your knees wider? I used to squat with my knees more straight like this video but a powerlifter saw me and told me to be widen up the knees more
I really do not understand people complaining about the difficulty. Just from exploring out of curiosity (no guides), I had enough fragments to make it so no DLC boss was harder than Malenia/Maliketh, except for the final one. Gaius, Rellana, Mesmer and Metyr were all easier for me than those two from the base game. No idea how experiences differed so much
Squat barefoot or with flat shoes. Do the hard work of increasing the range of your achilles tendon. Be in tune with the Earth’s center as it is pulling you. Heeled shoes are manmade devices that get in the way of that awesomeness.
こんにちは、ゆすけさん。Just wanted to let you know, if the watch time on this video is crazy, it's because I'm writing out the dialogue, this is my 2nd time writing out the subtitles. My goal is to memorize the whole script, but yeah, it may stand out from your other videos because I am watching it so much 😂😅😅

I loved this, learned it from Charles poliquin along with goblet squat warmups
That's some solid advice!
I'm going to try it with my warmups
I have the same shoes as you! (But in blue). I’ve never seen anyone wear them before 😬
I tried it, it effing works. Thanks
Thats fire thank you
Why not use a rack with side safety bars?
Already do this with my clients and they love it. Thanks for confirming it’s correct Eugene
Why not squat barefoot or with more minimal shoes so the lifter actually feel the ground and can adjust their balance ?
I'll definitely try that next session
the way you spotted that squat should be taught and used as example, so many spoters stand behind clueless of what they are supposed to do
😂 the way the chick is crying for the camera
I wonder flat shoes would help?
no it's about practicing pushing on the midfoot and staying balanced. the heeled shoes just help you squat lower if you don't have the mobility
@ericchen776 so yes, yes they help.
bro keeps coming up with great tips all the time
Yeah I definitely need to try this, I always feel sort of unbalanced when doing barbell squats. Like my right quad does more work than the left, but my left glute works more than the right.

You should add more plates under feet or do low bar.
Good idea
Yes I’ve failed going to my heels before scary especially because I didn’t know about the safety bars
That's useful 👌

Hella spot there
What shorts is she wearing I want to buy those
I wanna know where they got the plates. Will using small weight plates work?
I dont push directly from the midfoot. Everybodys center of gravity is different
“This looks dangerous but it will blow your mind”

Don’t forget to wear skin-tight clothes. It increases power and speed by 50%

What was that loud part 😂 in all seriousness though I like watching your stuff
Just question??
Is it better to go bare foot cuz that’s what I have been doing for a long time.
I just got squat shoes and I already own half plates! I can definitely incorporate this now!
Just really contract that foot arch. I learned it to squat heavier since I have flat feet.
Can this also be done for deadlifts? Genuinely curious
Guys, her name is Bianca Lupton. You welcome.
Thought they're siblings...
Or warm up with a front or goblet squat.
Should you have your knees wider? I used to squat with my knees more straight like this video but a powerlifter saw me and told me to be widen up the knees more
It’s very dangerous for the knees 😊😊😊
That last girl has some good skullcrushers
This one’s does too, skulls were def crushed
How can you use your feet properly during a squat if you're wearing shoes that aren't shaped like feet?
I really do not understand people complaining about the difficulty. No shoes feels the best for me but the gym doesn't allow that anymore.
So they use the ones on. The heel to feel the heel ?
Thank goodness I had my volume turned down
Don't spot squats, learn to bail on them or/and use safety bars
What on earth were you doing not squatting in a rack with safety bars? The way her arms twisted back when she fell did not look good.
She is just dead gorgeous..
Close your eyes 😌
Why are you wearing bowling shoes at the gym?
