@@G-EDM better cuts, longer cuts without breaks, less threading, fewer wasted parts attempts. Depending on how often you use the machine it will pay off. Once built, it keeps working.
@@gerritvisser It is almost impossible to break the wire now at reasonable settings. If it runs into a true short the protection logic will react fast and you can set the microseconds allowed for short circuits. Once some people buy stuff I call it pay-off time. Everything else is fun and trouble.
DPM8605 step down converter in constant current mode and some logic on the ESP that will capture some spikes and toggle the spark according to the settings.
@@9782ravi The board has a footprint for a flash capacitor and can be used with a resistor based PSU too. But the DPM solution provides much more control. And as bonus the code is able to change voltage and current on the fly for probing etc. After I started to work with it it worked too good to change anything.
all those late n ights are starting to really pay off. Congrats.
Thanks. The burn is good but was it worth all the troubles? I don't know. :D

How you manage to control the current for the arc.

@@G-EDM why you don't use the capacitor to store energy for arching
