I love Piedmont lots of great memories their fishing with family. Im from Steubenville originally whenever I head back there I always stop and fish from the bank and always catch something. Didn't realize the smallies were in their. I need to take my yak! Nice Fish man great assortment
Yea I was pumped to catch my first inland reservoir smallmouth. Unfortunately I lost the other topwater hit but I got my lure back at least 😎thanks for watching Louis
In 2002 was fishing there and had 4 nice saugeye on a chain stringer below my boat. Every once in a while the stringer would shake and tug. Finally caught another keeper saugeye and went to put on stringer an 2 of my fish were missing... around noon I tried to pull up my stringer and found a musky at least 40 inches long had eaten another fish off my stringer and seemed like he had swallowed the end of my stringer. Almost had him into the boat and it shook out the last of my fish it tried to eat and was gone.... was alone on the boat so no one seen it and no camera.. lake is great for memories..
Now you are in my neck of the woods - 20 minutes from my house!!!! I was there that day and only managed three smallies. It gets TONS of fishing pressure. You need to give Clendening Lake a try - it's just another 10 minutes up rt. 800 - Monster bass and lots of them. It's a real hidden gem especially in early spring and late fall.
You gave it a shot and fished hard brother. You also learned a bit and caught your first reservoir smallmouth. The musky fight was cool, love those accidental toothy critter catches. Keep after it B. Blessings brother
I definitely went out of my comfort zone this year fishing these derby’s. It’s been an eye opening experience and I have learned a bunch. Thanks for watching Brian!
Made for a fun day after catching all them rock bass lol. Dayton rivers is our last chance at redemption and I KNOW you are looking forward to that one!
Low light conditions, unless the water is really clear, I think using flouro is thinking too much, you didn't lose that fish on straight braid brother! Good job on the top 20, I just fished Hoover and it was impossible to get a pattern. Transition is tough.
Yea it was thinking too much. I’m just in the habit of always tying leaders. That fish would have been boated for sure running straight braid. Lessons learned. Thanks for watching man
I'm still struggling with the braid to leader knot as well. So much so that I go straight braid most of the time. Piedmont looks like a great lake. Enjoyed the video!
@@thecreekcrawler Thanks! I will be picking one up appreciate the response and I have been loving your videos ever since I found your channel you are the man!
Nice to see you are human, but I'm sorry bud. I do 11 wraps with 20lb braid to -8lb floro with 6 wraps, and 9 20lb braid wraps to 5 12lb floro wraps. Seagaur floro and powerpro braid. I don't break off these days I used to break every time.
Yea I made a whoopsie...lessoned learned..I honestly should have just tied straight to the braid instead of fooling around with a knot in low light.. that fish would have easily put me in the top 10
@@thecreekcrawler I normally use mono if I don't want braid near my topwater. More important if you use a floating soft plastic. I do use straight braid to whopper plopper and walking baits.

I wouldn't doubt that one bit!! Musky are vicious critters!
That's a great lake to fish also has walleye and saugeye
It was nice I just wish the timing was better! That party of the season can be rough
Congratulations 15th place 👏 good job 👏 thank you for sharing
thank you I believe only half the field caught a keeper. It was a tough day but I managed some points so that is good!
Peidmont is my hometown lake and I go to school at hocking, crazy to see you fishing there
I graduated Hocking in 2018. Loved that place. Piedmont was fun man lucky to have a spot like that close to home
I've been to that lake just once, and that was in January. I didn't even get out of the car. The State record musky was caught in that lake years ago.
chilly!!!! I wouldn't have gotten out either unless there was ice on the lake
great video! you should give piedmont another shot, along with the bass and muskies its also home to some of the states biggest saugeye and flatheads!
Yea they have some big saugeye up there. Kinda surprised I didn’t find one or two deep cranking.
Great video crawler congrats not a bad day I would of sat on that riprap all day!!!
I pretty much did. After the sun poked out it was hard to find anything
I enjoyed the video, tuff day for you but you did catch 4 specie's of fish! Good luck with the next event.
Yea I can’t let a tournament setting ruin the fact I caught some fish in a new place. I had a fun day. Thanks for watching Steve!
And now we are going to watch the video
thanks for watching!!!
There's some monster flatheads in there too. Always a surprise on bass tackle!
really!!! that would be fun on bass gear

I will look into clendening! I’ve heard some good things about it.

Man awesome day again! Been nice to see the musky lol.
I know I wanted him to land it so bad but we got a good look at her

I had fun man. I am really
Looking forward to the Dayton rivers event. Would love to finish on a high note with some awesome smallies

I have had a couple days this year on the water and it has cost me a some fish. Piedmont was gorgeous and very large.
Easiest knot I've found so far.

Nice job I’m in Florida tearing lg mouth up!
Lucky!!
Best record lake in Ohio
I might need to go back up during a better part of the year
What kind of net is that ive been looking to get a new one for my kayak and that one looks like the perfect size
I believe the company is called
PROMAR. Idk exactly how big it is but it’s perfect in my opinion! It also floats so that is a bonus on the kayak

@@fishingfpv2466 appreciate it!!! thank you for watching! I should have a new video up here in the next couple of days
look up blood knot and put a dash of super glue on ur knot.
Really super glue huh?! That’s interesting. Never thought to do that before. I have done the blood knot in the past
New sub ! Liked 🙏❤️😊😊
Thank you!!
Lmao we used the same title idea and I didn’t even see yours 🤣
I just seen yours 😂
@@thecreekcrawler great minds think alike. We both uploaded at the same time too lol
@@astralprospecting8796 thats funny

Heck yea! Thank you!
You sure don't take time to fight the fish - just jerk 'em out of the water.
They can talk to me in the boat lol… I try to get them in as soon as possible especially fishing derbies
