Sebastian I'm eager to watch that local dimming thru the lenses comparisos as I'm unable to decide which one to pick... I'm from Spain and here after taxes it's 797€ (basic) vs 1025€ (local dimming)... It's a big jump in price... ..
This video is like advertising some product without the VAT. In most European countries the price will bump up a lot. Here in Finland, we have the world's highest VAT of 25.5 %.

I've taken a punt and ordered the Immersed Visor. If that headset delivers on it's promises, it will be the best on the market. 4K per eye micro-OLED, tiny and super light form factor, eye tracking, high res passthrough MR, hand tracking, stand alone capability (without the added weight)....just a dream headset. However, I'm excited to see the Pimax Crystal Light coming to market. These visuals at this price and with the lower weight, is a huge deal for pushing PC VR forward with next gen visuals. I'm also excited about the Crystal Super micro-OLED, even more so. That higher res micro-OLED with a great FoV and lenses could a huge step up from Crystal Light. That's the one I'm really looking forward to hearing more about, but unfortunately it looks like it will still weigh a ton, so I'd probably not get one, unless I have a load of cash and want a shareable headset to show off next gen VR visuals to friends and family, with it's manual ipd adjustment. This is the most exciting time for VR, in particular for PC VR. Big leap forward is coming.
MRTV - I will wait till more video reviews come out when the 699 dollar VR device gets released. I just do SIM racing so I don't need wireless or eye tracking. I am currently using the Quest 3 with all my SIM racing games, and that device also looks good and works well for me. The main concern that I have with getting this PIMAX lite VR headset is I have a RTX-3080TI GFX card and not a 4090, so how much difference in quality will that make in good operations and graphics??? I will wait for your actual hands on with the Crystal lite VR headset for 699 dollars. take care.
Realistically even if you use the same resolution to render that you use on Quest 3, the image on Crystal will look better due to much higher resolution of the panels
Hey @mixedrealityTV I'm looking for a PCVR headset and i saw pimax Vr headset and my question is "does pimax crystal light have more graphic details than Meta Quest 3 through the lens ???" I want to know pls
this is the first video in line, on the top of youtube list after I type Pimax Crystal Light in search window. have to watch it. The only thing you need to change in article/title is EVERY SIM RACER NEEDS... : ) Thanks for sharing
@@mixedrealityTV Much appreciated! I did preorder Crystal Light, haven't got PC yet. Getting Ryzen 7800X3D CPU and most likely 4080 super, for Assetto Corsa Competizione and VR. think 4090 would be overkill of my money...
8:10 - there is compression, as single DisplayPort 1.4 can't handle the throughput of 2.5k lenses. Just like Bigscreen VR - there is compression that reported to be visible. I wonder how much latency it brings, compared to uncompressed 75hz or something, but definately less than on Quest3.
Thanks for this. Do we know how moving the processing for the 6DOF headset tracking, controller tracking, and finger tracking to the PC cpu will affect latency and cpu load?
Somnium vr1 😃 , why because huge Sweet spot , very immersive fov , very high brightness without getting annoying , and very good optics . But expensive 🫰
Very. I expected to see the actual Light in his hands......I get It's the same panel but even still. It's not the actual LIGHT. Title says "Through the lens of Pimax Crystal Light". Need a disclaimer there, otherwise it's a bit click baity. That's why I clicked on it. No need for that really
@jamiesalmonsculpture8599 He gave a disclaimer in the video. If you watch it, you will hear him say it. It is to try and give an example of what to expect with the Crystal Light. He let's you know he is using a Pimax Crystal. In the title it says Crystal "Light" I get what you mean. About having the actual headset. But, it basically is just minus all the other stuff!
The Crystal Light might even have tiny bit better visuals, as they probably removed the eye tracking cameras half mirror also. So there is nothing between the lenses & panels.
One mistake about 'you can upgrade it for $699'. When you want upgrade for example from Q2 or Q3 to Pimax, you will have problem if your computer is not strong enough. To run very high resolution, you need spend money in better GPU. And that makes not $699 at all. RTX4080 is at least $1000 and RTX4090 around $1600. So... is it cheap for $699? Yes and no. If you have already strong pc, go ahead. If you have less strong pc, then you will spend ~ $1700 for 4080 or ~ $2300 for RTX4090 upgrades + Pimax. It's not $699 for everyone! That is not how it works here. If you upgrade only headset, you have a problem and will not really enjoy the display because fps dropped to much. You don't buy headset to lower the output resolution already. That is kinda waste of money. You will miss some real sharpness.
instead of releasing more headsets tell them to work on fixing the tracking. if meta can do it. so can they. not everyone likes Sim games. most people like action games.
Looks terrible compared to what you see through the Pimax Crystal. Those through the lens video's don't do justice to the real image quality of the Pimax Crystal.
