I am not sponsored by any of these art supply brands! As always, any products that I recommend are ones that I use in my studio that have been purchased by yours truly🥰🎉🌸
Love your artwork! I was just wondering if you had thought of turning your work into puzzles as well.
Oh Tahlia, they're not cheap either! I'm not sure what canvas you use, but your paints are fabulous quality. I'd love to see someone want to sponsor you! x Nell.
What a beautiful process! I appreciate you sharing this. I would love to know all of the products/supplies/tools/canvases you use in your work and where you get them. There are so many elements and your applications are extraordinary. Thank you! ❤️
I agree!!!
Hey Tahlia, just found you by accident yesterday and I'm glad I did. Your enthusiasm is infectious and I'm now itching to get back to my paints. I'm a watercolourist, and I've only attempted 2 oil paintings in my life. They turned out fab, but that was complete luck because I genuinely did not know what I was doing! The two media are chalk and cheese, and I def have a watercolour brain. However, I'm itching to create some oil paintings, so if you could give me a few tips I'd really appreciate it:
1) since oils dont dry, how do you go over them without moving or ruining the layers beneath? This was my biggest problem, as every new brush stroke would interact with the paint already on the canvas, even if I didnt want it to.
2) I see you've drawn with charcoal. Did you spray fixative before you started painting? And did that influence the colour and texture of your paint?
3) What are you using to thin the paints for your first layers? Do those layers dry quicker as a result?
4) Oils vs acrylics - pros and cons?
Thanks for your input, much appreciated 💖
You are very inspiring.i used the tip u gave in one of your videos about using different sizes of brushes instead of blending so much and it works good.thank you
So insanely expressive love your style!!!❤

Hi Thalia!! I absolutely love your work and love watching your videos; they’ve definitely helped me become a better painter and your tips have helped me with my own art business! 🧡🧡 thank you for being you and sharing your incredible work🧡🧡 I wanted to ask, what brands do you get your brushes from? Currently doing a big art supply shop and finding more ideas
Oh my goodness! Thank you very, very much🧡 Most of my brushes are made by NEEF!
TahliaWhat do you use to draw the potrait? How come the potrait is still so clear even after applying paints on it?
Your paintings are gorgeous❤
I saw your video on tiktok a couple of month ago and yesterday out of the blue I remembered it. And reelay wanted to see it again. But how do you find a video again in the depth of tiktok? You scroll through all the painting-hashtags in the app until you find it 😁 now I found out you have a youtube channel too.

what pencils do you use to make the sketch?, thanks for answering
I love your paintings! I love to paint water color but it is limiting and I think what you are doing is very much a water color look! I have always thought oil was dark and muddy but you have revealed a new way! At least to me! Maybe I have assumed some paintings I have seen were water color but in fact oil??? Beautiful work!!
Instant sub.
My god how wonderful! I love it. You're great!
To have this kind of effects I thought you needed acrylic paints. Could you tell me what do you use to make oil paints so liquid? I love oil paints, but I switched to acrylic ones because I didn't think they were so versatile. I'm self-taught so I don't know the techniques well. A warm greeting 🌹🌹🌹
Hi - just found you, which is great because I am learning about oil painting bevor I finally attempt it ( probably a mistake🤷🏼♀️).
You mentioned when doing thin layers, more glazing to go from light to dark? Is this always so, I thought it was vise versa🤔 - but I love what you have painted here - it’s a shame it went so fast lol. I just love it!
How soon can you apply the varnish? Did you apply it straight away ...when the oil was still wet... would that not smudge the oil painting? and how quickly does it dry enough for it to be posted? Thank u 💗💥
Can you do a dedicated how to oil paint video? Like start to finish - I have been wanting to oil paint for years even got some paints and thinner but I don't want to start cuz I feel like I'm missing something and/or don't know the process of dealing with oil paints.
Amazing video, thank you 🖤🖤🖤
I have been trying to start painting for the longest time, with the death of my grandmother and toxic work environment, I had an artistic block for the longest time. Just watching your videos relit that spark and am now so excited to start learning and re-learning how to paint. Thank you for sharing a part of yourself with us. Sending love from Cape Town, South Africa.
And oil color,or vanish color too canvas board, paint my varnish oil , stay colorful 😊
I aspire to be like you someday ❤❤❤
Would most of the face be painted in warm oils? I recall you mentioning the warm and cool color temperature theory in an Instagram video and was curious how much of the portrait is painted with warm oils
Amo tus pinturas!!! ❤️😍 lástima que tus videos solo sean en inglés… 😢
Your work is gorgeous!!😍😍 Question: how long do you wait until you put the gloss on your painting?
Do u have detailed tutorial for beginners? Using acrylic
Wow !! Mooi prachtig 👍👌❤🇱🇺
Love your paintings what do you use to thin your oil colours please ?
Hi there, thanks for the inspiring video. Can you tell me the name and brand of that bright colour you applied at 2:16 ? Thank you.
Hi! With what paint/pencil do you do your sketch for underneath? The black sketch of the face
Salaams my sister. What type of inc pen or marker are you using for your "Foundational sketch?" Thank you
ALLAH BLESS you
What did you sketch with? And did you seal it before you started?
Graphite and sealed with Micador Fixative🎉
Hola 👋 podrías poner los subtítulos en español. Te lo agradecería. Por favor
Next step to my grad pieces is to oil paint them 😳😳
I thought that when working in oil paints it's best to paint from dark to light, not light to dark? 🤔
For opaque paint go dark to light and for transparent paint light to dark :)
Hi beautiful 😍 friend , good morning, too you,. 😊
Love those lips!
I am in a very hard time right now. I choose something that I thought would mean the world to me and it ended up just disappointing me. But, I don't find fun in anything anymore, I just can't feel the heat, the excitement, the rush that comes with creating something or doing something that resonated with your soul. As I was contemplating these thoughts, I came across your channel and I cannot describe in words how beautiful it was to see someone enjoy what they do so vibrantly. I hope that one day I can find my passion again and if I can achieve just 1 tenth of you beautiful liveliness, I would consider my life successful. BTW, I am not an art student, I am a child of science. But, watching your work is helping me a lot, So thank you.💕
what pencils do you use to make the sketch?, thanks for answering
I am in love with your work and your personality! I’m a beginner artist and I’d love to try something similar to your work! It seems so expressive and fun. Right now I’m mostly doing landscapes but I might try more portrait or fun colors or something. Keep up the beautiful work! ❤❤
Your work is full of Life and beautiful! Question : what did you use to draw? Did you use a medium over the drawing before painting? I’m struggling weather to use pencil/ erasing marks…. then what ? Will it smear with paint. ? Thank you so so much !
You say “fat over lean” and for varnishes “thick over thin”, but don’t those two things contradict each other? If you add oil medium to make it “fatter”, then it also becomes more thin and runny, no?
I love your work so much Tahlia and so love watching you paint 😍
Thank you so much Karina🥰🎉🌸
Hi Tahlia. I think you got a great eye for art. I love your work and accent😊.
Yeah… ok… gonna need more videos from you! Please make more for my enjoyment! quickly please 😜
2 vidéos ont été supprimées dans cette série. Pourtant, elles étaient utiles pour ceux qui tentent de comprendre les techniques mixtes. Dommage.
I think your videos are the only videos where I have to slow them down to watch! 😅 loving your style.. quick question: I make a base with acrylics and only touch up main areas in oil. Is that a bad thing? Also if half my painting is acrylic and the other half oil which varnish can I use? Thanks!
You make the most beautiful pieces! Seriously I haven’t come across anything on your page that I did not like
You painting with acrylics?
Omg I love your paintings!!! They express such deep dimensions. These colors. You just really show that I shouldn't be afraid to use more. Where do you buy your canvases? I have trouble finding good ones :(
This is just so amazing!!! Diid'nt need anything other than this, Thank you so much for inspiring me by your work!!! I really hope you reply and tell me the colours you used for this
Thank you so much friend! Poppy Red, Manganese Violet, Quinacridone Magenta & Indian Yellow were the main colours🎉
@@tahliastantonart thank you so so so much
Hi beautiful! And encouraging! I did not get it: are you saying you don’t need to wait for the painting to dry before you varnish? I have always heard of the opposite? Bc of this brand ? 🙏🎨
It needs to be FULLY dry to the touch before using this product :)
@@tahliastantonartthank you !
how long your oil paint need to dry?

I just love it 😍😍😍
You are the best !! You give me so much inspiration and courage ! After your video or reels, i just have that urge to paint, it's beautiful ! Thank you so much for beeing out here
Love this
How is the paint so thin in the beginning 😲
She used a medium to thin the oil paint
It was much better before you added the black, I am not even sure why you did that
how do you 'go over' with transparent paint? Is it just normal paint with a lot of medium (linseed oil?) added over a dry paint?
How amazing is it that today we can see proof that it’s possible to make a living from art. I thought this was impossible 20 years ago. But now, I’m trying again 🥰
