Stayed at Balmer Lawn in 2014 for the conference. Had a chance walk-around the village...lovely atmosphere

Thanks TS DR MOHD ROZAIMAN AZIZ. The Balmer Lawn is a nice hotel, we have had dinner there but never stayed overnight. Brockenhurst is a lovely place to live. Thanks also for watching the vid and taking the time to comment, much appreciated. Best wishes, Rob

I visited the new forest in the early 90s. Have no idea of the name of the place where we stayed but I remember the house and outside very well.
Would love to go back. It's been far too long

Tx for watching the vid and taking the time to comment, much appreciated. The forest areas would look much the same to you but the towns will look quite different. Thanks again and best wishes, Rob

Hi Beenz, tx for watching. I expect that you would see plenty of places that you recognise in Brockenhurst and plenty more that have changed. I made that video between covid lockdowns when the pubs and restaurants were shut. I must make another vid of Brockenhurst when it's busy. All the best, Rob

70 years ago, I was the lad who, for many years, pumped the organ at the St. Nicholas church, right up in the belfrey; an interesting spot to obseverve the congregation below at Matins service. The organist was a very old spinster with an incredibly lined face. Rather cruely but aptly we all call her the tortoise.

Hello pdep. I'm pleased that my walk around Brockenhurst brought back some memories for you.I hope 'the tortoise' didn't hear you call her by her nickname :) I made that walk during one of the breaks in covid lockdowns so the churches were closed (apart from during services). I must do another walk and include the church interiors. Thanks for watching and best wishes, Rob
PS If you live in The New Forest you might be interested in my other channel, which I started in May this year, called Living in The New Forest. All of my New Forest videos are now uploaded to that channel www.youtube.com/@LivinginTheNewForest/videos

My uncle fought in the Maori Battalion and is buried at St Nicholas. My mum and I travelled to Brockenhurst for the first time August 2023 to visit our great uncle who is buried in the commonwealth war graves. We did a haka for him in the cool morning sun all by ourselves. Generations of family grief poured out of us that morning. It was such a privilege to be there. We’d love to thank the caretakers and the people of the St Nicholas Parrish for so lovingly caring for our families gravesites.
