This song is one of my favorites in BOTW's entire soundtrack, and it sounds AMAZING with your trio setup! hope to hear more fantastic stuff from the three of you together :D
I'm surprised that all three forests didn't burn down independently due to this HOT TRACK for real though that was super cool, I love wood winds so much, and having it stick to just the trio made it really interesting !!
I was honestly playing around with the idea of adding percussion to this, but I wanted to try and make it work as just a standalone trio - that way, these could be used for live performance one day :) Thanks heaps mate!
THAT OBOE TONE IS SO GOOD! I play oboe myself, and i still have much to learn, but this was amazing! that high note is so beautiful! and the bassoon and clarinet sound so incredible as well!
Thanks heaps! For me at least, it usually makes things trickier (changing light levels, objects refocusing the camera, etc) but I think it's worth it to make the video a little more interesting :)
Thanks so much for being a part of it! I should show you the un-colour corrected video - Australian washed out brown scrub contrasts heavily with your and Brooke's lush forests!
This is so good! That song is probably my favorite from BotW, and you have a really nice arrangement here. I love the instrumentation, and your filming locations are great, too!
Oh this is awesome! I do love the EWI but definitely enjoying the more "classical" sound. Great tone all around and you guys managed to blend the sound very well!
Thanks heaps! I always find the arrangements the trickiest part of these things - I'm always second-guessing myself, and pulling the rich harmonies of the original down to 3 parts was a challenge! But yeah, Brooke's an amazing player, and working with this crew is always worth it!
Thanks! It was tricky to reduce it down to just three parts (there are some occasionally pretty funky and dense harmonies in the original) but that let me make some fun arrangement decisions :)
I imagine these people playing their part on the instrument, by all of them after a while, the animals looks around the trees, and comes closer to the players, listen to this great track… and finaly a korok appears in front of them… 🇨🇭
hi, I have a question for you: what microphone do you use to record the clarinet? I have a UA-cam channel where I publish my compositions and arrangements, but I would like to play them and be able to record myself. which microphone do you recommend? thank you very much and congratulations for your videos
Thanks mate! I do all of my live audio recording using an Audio Technica 2020, running through a focusrite Scarlett 2i2 interface - apart from some particularly early videos, that's been my workhorse for all clarinet recording. I'd recommend reading some reviews about the other options that are out there, though, because I got this setup almost 10 years ago, and there are plenty more options now. If you've got a budget of around $100-200, you can probably get quite a respectable single-mic setup to start recording.
This is all studio recorded! We have to go to significant lengths for sound isolation; there'd be way too much ambient noise to feasibly record this outside.
@@Soundoleso what. It’s just like really good or bad service somewhere - it could be anywhere , you get what you pay for. People would pay to hear that live because it’s a treat to your ears. No offense but your so good that it’s not even about what you want (not entirely anyway)
You know, for a while putting this together, I was planning on adding some light percussion. Decided to keep it purely winds in the end so it could also work in a concert setting, but it nearly had percussion parts :)

u should add in an 808 drum kit next time tho smh

Thanks so much! I passed on your compliments to Brooke, and your comment made her very happy :)
Soundole VGM Covers you’re welcome!
This sounds absolutely amazing! Makes me want to walk aimlessly in a forest. Extremely well done guys/gal!
Thanks so much mate! I actually owe you for convincing me that this track could work in a three-part arrangement!
Sounds amazing. If there's more of this to come then we are all in for a real treat~!!
Thanks Steven! There definitely will be :)

Thanks! I really appreciate the work you guys are doing in this genre as well!
Ahhh, turned out lovely! I love how we all seemed to choose such similar recording locations!
Thanks so much for being a part of it! I should show you the un-colour corrected video - Australian washed out brown scrub contrasts heavily with your and Brooke's lush forests!
it's gorgeous!! i love it!! medllix and you both did a great job and the scenery is picked very well :D
Thank you! Picking out places to shoot for these videos is always tricky, I'm glad you liked it!
You are just three of my favourite musicians on the planet. I'm still not over this gentle emerald tapestry. 💚
Thanks so much Rebecca, I'm really glad you like it! :)
This is so good! That song is probably my favorite from BotW, and you have a really nice arrangement here. I love the instrumentation, and your filming locations are great, too!
Thanks so much! It's always fun to try and make outside shots work, and it gives me a break from all the usual perils of green-screening :)
Oh this is awesome! I do love the EWI but definitely enjoying the more "classical" sound. Great tone all around and you guys managed to blend the sound very well!
Thanks heaps! This was more of the world I was in before the EWI came along :)
Wow the quality here is incredible. The sound engineering makes It really sound like the full orchestration from Dragon Quest VIII and XI
Thanks very much! All of the reed trios I've produced take forever in editing, so I'm glad you think that side of things works :)
This sounds so pieceful and harmonious. You guys really captured the atmosphere of the korok forest, awesome work!
Thanks so much, I'm glad you think so! :)
Amazing cover!!!! Thank you for sharing!!!
Thank you very much, I'm glad you liked it!
This instrumentation is too perfect. Seriously. Wow

Thanks very much! I'm looking forward to recording more with them :)
Omg this is amazing. The oboist's tone was so clean and beautiful. The arrangement is so nice~

The Reed Squad is here! Nice and soothing arrangement, love it :)

Very nice! If it were up to me you guys would be a dedicated Zelda Forest Theme cover band
Thanks Connor! I'm feelin it, I could cover Zelda forests all day :)
Dang that clarennet is so good
Thanks mate, glad you appreciated it :)
seriously this is great, very well done.
GameLark Reed Trio, huh? Is that an album I smell in the works?
If I have my way, definitely :)
#TeamWoodlarkForever
subversive asset will be pleased that his hashtag is taking off :)
Sounds amazing! If I may make a suggestion it only needs a little more groove on the fist section
Cheers mate! Just so you know - this video is over 5 years old now, I'm not sure how relevant it is to offer feedback on it :p
Sorry to bother you I won't do it again
@@rub800 No dramas man, I appreciate you listening! :)

Wow! Amazing cover! Nice work :D Is it ok if I use this in a video of mine pls? I'd make sure to give you guys credit of course.

wow i play oboe i hope i can play like she does some day wooooooow
I passed on your compliments to her :)
I am in love with every part of this. If you ever need a certain backing of strings, please hmu immediately ❤️❤️
Thanks so much mate! Will do :)
Okay, if this is Zelda music, why is the only mental imagery I'm getting visions of the Pookas from Odin Sphere? o_0
It's beautiful to listen to, regardless of what it reminds me of btw. ^‿^
Glad you think so mate! :)
Did you record the audio outside or are you playing to something you recorded in a studio?
This is all studio recorded! We have to go to significant lengths for sound isolation; there'd be way too much ambient noise to feasibly record this outside.
Looks very nice!
Music sheet plz
I offer my sheet music as a perk for patrons, so if you're still interested, maybe check out the link in the description :)
The guy on the left looks like Jon Snow
That’s the quality where You guys need to be paid hella cash to perform at rich party’s.

Not a bad suggestion at all :)
Yey! Sounds promising!
I can say three words and have everyone in the comments hate me
I’m a percussionist
Why no love for percussionists?
It’s a woodwind trio. Also I saw a bunch of woodwind people in the comments.
You know, for a while putting this together, I was planning on adding some light percussion. Decided to keep it purely winds in the end so it could also work in a concert setting, but it nearly had percussion parts :)
she has left f on the oboe i don't have it and need to use forked f
But they told me BotW had no good music...so then what's this???
We do try :) I'm hoping a lot of people are coming around from that view, it's probably my favourite Zelda soundtrack!
Mah
Is it just me or the girl is playing too fast? Anyways this is pretty good
Tempo's a floaty thing sometimes, and not everything here is going to be metronomic, but it sounds okay to my ear. Thanks!
