Well it usually depends on the market and the type of the building. Co-op approvals can take a lot longer than rental buildings or condos. Usually it's good to start looking 4-5 weeks prior to your move in date, but again, some neighborhoods are very fast and you might be competing with applicants who want to move in within 1 or 2 weeks.
