- How to eliminate the White Tire Lettering to Black Tire Lettering in less than 15 Minutes.
This is an easy three step process that takes less than one hour to do all four car tires. It's very easy and fun. You'll have the best looking tires anywhere. If you don't have white lettering on your tires, this will make your black tires look even better.
I'm a city kid. I take the bus, work at an office, and play video games. I don't have anyone to teach me stuff like this. Thanks for doing it, Walt!
Definitely going to have to try this next time I have some time off. Thanks for the helpfully video, hope to see more!
Great video! Was looking up how to do this just last month and gave up. Thanks Walt! :)
Not bad if you like the tire dressing look. I always just thought it made tires look like they're covered in oil. I prefer my tires to look matte and dry, like good clean rubber would.
This was super helpful, thanks for spending some time on us out here!!! Have a good one friend
Definitely learned something today. Real nice.
Thanks so much for this. Doing it this weekend
Good job, looking forward to seeing more content!
Awesome. Keep up the good job
Great video!
this is a great start on making videos
hope you do well in the future
Thank you for the inspirational words. We're 3 70 years olds that have been in the car business all our lives. I (79 years old) just got a cell phone for the first time last month. Learning how to use it is fun for all of us.
I'm gonna have to show this to my dad. He's been wanting to take off the white lettering on his farm trucks for years. Nice work, thanks!
Cheers for the vid
What type of paint did you use? Thank you for this helpful posting
2:11 dog is like.. "are you gonna play or what?"
Looking forward to the next video! Absolutely love these little tricks and tips for around the farm. Loved seeing the doggos too.
Great video Walt. How does the black lettering hold up?
Hello Collin. We've been doing this for about one year now. It looks like a permanent fix. You'll have to reapply the Superior tire spray once in awhile which is to be expected.
Personally like the white letters but looks like they were never there!! Nice
Just turn the tires so the white lettering is on the inside, it's only on one side.
Did you even watch the video? That is the inside of the tires. It's on both sides.
It's nearly impossible to have tires older than 6 years old, turned around by a tire dealership. Major car manufacturers including Audi, BMW, Buick, Dodge, Ford, Jeep, Mercedes Benz, Toyota, and VW now recommend on their websites and in owners handbooks that tires be replaced after six years.
As a result, tire chains won't touch seven year old or older tires because of the liability.
It all goes back to the Ford Explorer/Firestone tire rollover issues from 1997 to 2001, which resulted in stricter tire laws across the country.
This video is of a 2001 Jeep with 10,600 miles with tires on it from June, 2000, but still in beautiful condition.
That's my GRANDPA
he's all our grandpa lol
It's hard to see the name of the black paint product in the yellow can. Can you please provide the name of the product?
We tried sending you a picture of the can by cell, awhile back but couldn't figure out how on this site. It's Sign Painters "1 SHOT",
199-L Lettering Black. Price ranges on ebay from $10 to $23 for 8 ounces. That should last a lifetime. Walt
Or...you could put the tire on the wheel black side out?? Just an idea
Tire shops won't do that type of work on older tires, especially any tire over 5 years of DOT marks.
H homie
Bro wanna do in my bf radial tires (white lettering) so it works too?
Sure will work. Thanks for viewing
That was a nice white lettered tire to start with.
I want to see what beast those tires belong to, @Walt McCune!
Here it is Fred... I can't get it unloaded on this site. Unfortunate. It's a 2001 Jeep.
@@waltmccune707 sounds like fun! Would love to see a video of you doing something cool with that jeep! We may have waved at eachother passing, jeep bros.
Somebody play with the dog!
But why
Please get in touch with Captain Obvious.
You guys know one side has white letters and the other side has black letters so all you need to do is mount the tire the other way.
This IS the inside lettering on these wheels. On my truck I always have the tires installed with the white lettering inside and not exposed. You cant even see it unless you look under the truck.
If you have a high lifted truck I can see where you may want to do this.
Yeti Commander, please refer to my comments to "theatanought", just above your post. Thanks.
Why would you want to do
Why you ask? Well, for people like me who have a limited choice of tires to choose from based on my application, I'm stuck with wheel options that have white lettering. I don't want white lettering on my truck because it looks tacky. This video helped me eliminate that issue.
