@@ScootWithMike My Phantom doesn't have bell but yes I did because I upgraded the brakes into two fingers hydraulic brakes. Also I don't like 4 fingers brake levers and I hate mechanical brakes. I found that the regen is too powerful on the my Phantom, its quite difficult to modulate while braking specially when turning.
My apollo did not come in like yours, i do have the mach1 controller and everything else, but no cut out and no brace. They did send me a replacement bolt for the stem though.
I can confirm all the contents of this video, except mine did not receive a neck brace. I've been reading that it was not necessary in V3; but some stock delivered did have one put on by mistake. Did you follow up with Apollo if it was needed? My V3 was delivered to Canada on August 1. It's serial number name plate says "PHA2303xxxx", which means production date of March 2023, which means V3 or 2023 model. Safe riding everyone.
@hhum62 wow interesting that yours didn't have the neck brace. I'll try to find out if I really need it or if I can remove it. I'd probably take off the neck brace if it were safe.
Weird. I've asked Apollo to confirm whether it was necessary or not on my production date. What was your production run? @@ScootWithMikeEdit - Apollo wrote back and said the PHA2303xxxx run did not need the brace.
My Apollo phantom V4 is supposed to get here tomorrow. I'm very excited. I'm wondering if there's any secret changes for the new model they are now calling version 4.
@@hssw20c24 It says Apollo phantom V3 on the bottom. So I messaged the support team they told me that there are still models going out with the V3 serial numbers but they're actually V4 scooters with the new steering design. Unfortunately it didn't come with the new throttles. But I was told since I got the v4 I would be sent the new throttles free of charge once there out of production.
@@hssw20c24 it's kind of weird because everywhere online it says V4 but they say they haven't been able to change the serial numbers to be accurate. I can't imagine it's that hard. But I looked on the stem and there's no bolt on the bottom It looks like the new design as far as I could tell?
@@hssw20c24 Mine also says 09 2023! It's been great so far. Just make sure to check all your screws and bolts. Like NONE of mine had loctite and we're coming loose. I took the whole battery out just to tighten the kickstand
It's because the V4 doesn't need it. They Improved the neck strength during the manufacturing process of the frame. The neck brace was only added to the batch of V3 frames they still had remaining in their shop.
Hi Mike, what was the production date of your phantom? Mine are 07/23 and 09/23 but both with no neck brace, both with cut up for the mach1 controller. Not sure if the 09/23 model is the v4 model and the 07/23 is the v3 with no v4 updates. How can I check if I got the new stem bolt on my scooters? Don’t want it snapping and falling at like 60kph and getting injured
Does it say the production date on the scooter somewhere? I'll have to check. I'm also curious about the stem bolt, and wonder if I should get a spare or replace at some point.
Haha, I hope not! The website still says IP54, and keep in mind the new Apollo Pro has the same type of controller cut out, and that's IP66. You can spray that down with a hose! I have absolutely zero concerns about waterproofing around the cutout here.
Yes, I ordered it in the middle of July and it took just under 2 months to arrive. Most of that was waiting for Apollo to fulfill the order. Once UPS had it, it took about another 7-10 days, shipping from BC to Ontario.
Haha yeah you're all good. This is the V3 with a few changes from the original V3 release. It almost feels like a V3.5 to me. You're going to love it! Apollo nailed the sense of total control on this scooter.
@@ScootWithMike cool cool! I'm curious about the controler being exposed under the deck, i don't have a lot of knowledge about scooters yet, but is this dangerous if it happen to rain?
They've done a similar thing on their new Apollo Pro model, and that one has a better water resistance rating than this Phantom. My guess is it's totally water right and nothing to worry about 🤔
@@ScootWithMike I can see why they put the brace on now, because they have been having complaints and QC problem with the original stem bolt that holds the front end together, i got my bolt but did not change it yet will do before i take it out once the winter is done.
No. They did a bait and switch with the brakes. The manual mentions hydraulic, every tester they shipped to reviewers had hydraulic, every pic on the website of the disc side is ambiguous. It;s unconscionable to ship this with cable brakes. It's not a power thing it's a sophistication thing. And using the regen brake to say cables brakes are fine is a cop out. Regen is grabby, fine for slow stops where you have room. And thinking your brake pads will last longer is a mixed message. I'd rather swap out pads than wear out motors. I'm glad that a switch will be easy enough, and that it will get rid of that stupid built in bell on the lever. Other than that it's an incredible machine
dude set that regen break to max and learn how to use it, i never touched my breaks except emergency situations, and i rip that scotter going 60km + with it all the time. Regen breaks are awesome on this if you know how to use them properly.
It cannot be the Phantom 2023. No way the Mach 1 is that exposed to the elements, they cut off the bottom leaving the screws and mach1 visible like this! The smallest puddle or rain shower will easily lead to water damages. And that bolted neck brace exposing the screws. They said on Apollo website that they remodeled the entire part with stronger metal alliage not like that. Are you sure you got the last model? It looks like a modified Phantom V2
Yeah, it's the newest models they're shipping out now. Apollo has confirmed to me in an email that this is how the newest models are coming, with these changes I've shown in the video.
@RupakShakur hmm... maybe it was the "upgrades" they did for the people that waited all summer and isn't stock 🤔 I thought it would be since that whole batch got them
Seeing this video of 'band-aid' fixes, has put me off the Phantom all together. It looks like such a nice scooter online, but some of those "fixes" are NOT up to standard
You can swap the position of the throttle. Install the brake lever first then throttle and it will solve that shifted issue.
I'm planning to! Did you do this with your phantom?
