She says 1,000's of dollars a month like that is a lot of money anymore. It cost 1,000's of dollars a month to just live here and not even live well just to scrap by.
Finally I've been saying this for years. They (govt), brought 8n foreign drivers to drive down pay and rates to hold down costs and also affects safety. This guy is spot on
It’s been a driver retention issue. Covid caused them to all think this would last forever so people jumped in. In reality since deregulation this has been a horrible industry with such heavy competition. Now with the growth of brokers the margins continually get pushed down, giving the carriers usually barely enough to cover cost.
Great guest. Finally someone on this channel not peddling BS right wing talking points. Also the illusion of driver shortages helped play in to the inflation narrative that it was due to too much stimulus and supply chain issues etc. While that may be a small part the REAL reason for the persistent inflation is corporate greed jacking up profits.
The excuses for the real causes of inflation were left wing talking points...Remember Brandon and little Red Lying Hood saying how first inflation was "transitory" and "covid related", then it was "Putin's price hike"...when we all know the actual factors were the current regime's disastrous foreign and economic policies...and it continues to this day...It has nothing to do with "corporate greed"...that has been around forever. Printing trillions of dollars and passing laws that pump up government spending programs are the real drivers of inflation...inflation was at 1.4% (basically normal rate) in Jan '21...9 months later we had over 9% inflation...that hadn't been seen since 1982. "Corporate greed" was a thing long before
Yes corporations are the problem not high tax’s … among other things …. Lets remember corporations always go for greed and profits for a few years then go back to breaking even like a business should
There’s no shortage. Can’t find a parking spot most places. They are trying to whittle the trucking industry down to a handful of mega companies that will play ball with the government and run trucking the way they want it done. They are hamstringing the country.
Carter allowed himself to get roped into the BS that the Trucking Industry was Inefficient and Wasteful. As soon as he Deregulated the Trucking Industry the Mega Carriers set out to Monopolize as much as they could by Under Cutting the Independent Owner Operators. Regulation was in place to Level the Playing Field, so to speak, to Prevent the Monopolistic Carriers (such as those members of the ATA) from Degrading smaller Trucking Companies. The Transportation Industry, the Road Based Especially, is Failing. The FMCSA is Ineffective because of its Ties to the ATA.

Im 27 male, Just got my CDL Class A! There is no incentives for driving a semi truck. I would never drive for these reasons. 1)Tax bracket. They need to lower it to 10% just like it is for corporations. 2) Lonliness. If the laws would change to legalize sex for money, the trucking companies can create a new job for woman to accompany truck drivers. Job creation called "truckers companion". Lonliness is the main underlying reason nobody drives or stays in the trucking industry. 3) Pay. 50 cents per mile sounds good until you realize traffic jams exist. Then you aren't getting paid sitting in traffic. Nor when you are docking. I wouldn't step foot into a semi truck for anything less than $50 an hour. The corporations are just being cheep. Will the goverment be willing to get there heads out of there asses and change laws in favor of truckers? No. Neither would the corporations be willing to hire more workers to just ride along to keep the truckers happy. Sums up why I will never drive a semi truck with my CDL A license.
Whatever the case, drivers are the most annoying employees I have ever had to deal with is this constant issue, always no matter how much you do for them at one nothing is good for them 💡 the whole industry is a complete disaster: brokers, carriers, drivers.
Obviously never drove a truck. You could write a book on all the things that are wrong in the industry. Just saying drivers are cry babies as the reason is a real mental deep dive into the subject.
@@GruneDlmao 😂what exactly did or do you do for work? And what exactly did you do for the drivers that made their life more blissful? I’m seriously curious.
This guy is right on, no driver shortage. Just a shortage of those willing to work for nothing
💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
It's not a driver shortage, it's a pay shortage!
It's more oversaturated drivers.
She says 1,000's of dollars a month like that is a lot of money anymore. It cost 1,000's of dollars a month to just live here and not even live well just to scrap by.
It's NO massive driver issue. It's not worth the time to be over nobody roads with little to No pay at all

You hit the nail on the head. Deregulation destroyed this industry.
The problem is tooo many guys come on board and taken cheap paying loads .....
Thank you Mike Lombard! 🫡

how much money you bring in isn't , by itself , important . the percentage of what you bring in that is actual profit , is what is important .
Exactly 💯

My sons drives, he is 23! Halls cattle , but they still don’t pay them enough
Ikr
Bull haulers are the most overworked of them all. They are not paid well
They said there was a shortage to get a saturation of drivers so they can lower the pay.
Turnover and churn problem!! Nothing more
Please Advise!

Amazon wants to take over all supply chains. Automation.
Well, if there is less demand, maybe the "Bonehead Truckers" out there can be dumped.
Ahh, another union that doesn’t perform as advertised; not unlike the teachers’ unions
There is no union involved. LOL go grab another talking point

Trade associations represent corporate interests. Unions represent labor.
Then take more time to get the story right! Americans are sick of these stupid sound bits! I’d like to know about the mental health ect
Will chat with you anytime!

Turnover issue because drivers are mostly cry babies. 😅
Or because they saw the last generation fall sick with chronic disease and not see their families for a paycheck that doesn’t reflect that sacrifice

Driver shortage for mega carriers due to driver retention issues. Doesn't reflect on the entire industry.
