Craftsman Snow Blower Belts Replacement And A Fail

Here is my Craftsman snow blower that I hit a newspaper doing my neighbors driveway and it broke the auger belt. Its pretty old so lets change both the belts. The belt that I got for the auger is the right length but the inside v is wrong. I guess I will have to buy the brand named belt for it. But I have not done this yet. So I am going to see if the belt will just burn down to the point that it works.
*****Update the MTD belt is made right for this. Only buy the MTD belt or you will have the same problem.*****

G, thanks for the post! Don’t need to do this right now, but it is good to know how, when the time comes! You saved me and other diy’ers a lot of heartbreak in figuring it out. Good idea to check those belts out when it is nice and warm, I don’t want to deal with it when it is 10° below! Hey, you learn from the fails (Hakatop)?

6:05...the closer to center,,,the slower is goes....not faster
