Summary:
1. Find a comprehensive text resource (like a study guide/textbook)
2. Set up a framework
- Make a table of contents
- Write your own syllabus
- Divide larger topics into smaller lessons
- Write out the title of each section which will each become one less
on
3. Schedule
- Count how long your study timeline is (how many days till deadline/exam)
- Make time buckets (one per day/one per week)
- Divide your lessons into these time buckets
4. Execute
- Actually follow your schedule
- Use study techniques like memorising your information
- If unclear on anything, ask a teacher/friend or search up a crash course on youtube or simply just use google

I've basically taught myself gcse combined science physics
I can't even understand myself, how do i suppose to understand someone
this self-study stuff is pretty much exactly how my uni operates - no accountability, very little study structure. the only difference is that we are given a very broad syllabus and a very long list of recommended textbooks (i.e. anything that remotely covers what we are studying. last year my history reading list had 20 books on it for one semester!). we don't get homework and if we don't show up to class / do the prep work for the very few in person teaching sessions that we do have, there is no consequences. it is very hard to stay motivated. this video is very helpful because this semester has absolutely no in person teaching - just access to past recorded lectures. best of luck to anyone at school this year!

@@kee7374 we just learn as much as we can. as a general rule, what is in the lectures is nessesary knowledge and what is in the books is further. for history they usually split the exam into topics so we can focus out attention on something more specific and do lots of further reading and things. generally, though, we don't. the questions are quite broad, thankfully.

In all seriousness you become very self disciplined when you're self studying and it comes in handy later on in life!
Personally I found self studying easier than taking a class because I've always been internally motivated. Whenever I feel like I'm being forced or being threatened with grades my motivation to learn decreases and it becomes a chore ... But that's just me.

Wow, you're so successful. Nobody at my school is as motivated as you are. My school doesn't offer many AP classes or any IB classes, sadly. You inspire me so much, and even though I already take my studies seriously, I aspire to be more like you. ❤
This is so helpful. I graduated college already and would love to go back to school and keep learning, as well as just try to be a better student than I was, but tuition costs are so high that I just can't see myself doing that. But this will be good to help me learn more. And probably also re-learn everything I forgot while I was being a terrible student the first time around lmfao
