“You get the perfect start every time” *insert compilation of years and years of races where the three of them fuck up a launch even with launch control on*
Australia and USA flashbacks
Why wouldn't you include the parts where they actually launch the cars?

That’s what I’m wondering!

Jeremy in the Merc: the idea of launch control is to minimize wheel spin in conditions like these
Also Jeremy in the Merc: that’s the worst launch control in history
Congrats! You can comprehend videos.
yeah we watched the same video you dont gotta explain

This is the perfect example of when one should scream 'POWERRRRR' in Clarksons voice. Lost opportunity from Jezza there.
if that's from grand tour i don't think he's allowed to say it any more because the bbc is stupid
@@AleK0451 okay so….
1. The BBC isn’t stupid they are trying to protect their assets, it what any business would do. Their mistake was removing Clarkson.
2. He has said power multiple times on the Grand Tour, they managed to get around a lot of the problems with the BBC after season 1 of the Grand Tour.
3. You are a blind idiot if you hate the BBC just because they fired Jeremy. I was annoyed when he was removed from Top Gear but I don’t hold it against the BBC because it was an executive dession and whining about it on the internet is not going to magically bring Old Top Gear back.

2:00 I know it's just for show, but the driver doesn't use launch control. You can see him roll back at the zebra crossing after the revs go up and Porsches launch much harder than you can see here.
There was an old lady in front of the car - I rather like that the driver decided to retain personal control of the vehicle!
1:09 that grin had me DEAD

I want them to try the table cloth trick again but now with Rimac Nevera
Question is...will Rimac lend them another car after the Concept One?
@@thabihotboy9376 maybe, it's a 30 seconds trick. As long as the Rimac is driven by Abbie or TGT racing driver, and it is done outdoor

Never in my wildest imaginings could I ever have pictured James May saying "Whatevs" !
Right… push that button till the light goes red… then flick these two switches… now move to semi auto mode 4…. push that button there… foot flat on the brake, engage first gear, bury the throttle and…
RINRINRINRINRINRINRINRINThis is an excellent video!
Hmm. Launch control on UA-cam comments is quick, but all the palaver before it does render it a bit pointless…
We need a compilation of them saying "Nissan".
"Datsun" 🤣
I love how the new skoda octavia estate has launch control 😂
"Only one of us has it fitted to our car"
Jeremy has a Bentley Flying Spur
Hamster has a Porsche 911 GT3 and a GT3 RS.
All of them has a launch control system (and yes the bentley does)
hmmmm.....interesting
Edit: And if you're asking what car has a launch control system which owned by James May...a Ferrari 458 Speciale
Good point. But Jeremy and Richard did not have those cars yet when they said that. But now they do. Hmm...
Also, I forgot to mention that when that episode aired, James had a 458 Italia. That was the car they were referring to. The Speciale hadn’t even come out yet.

1:44 that part always kills me
"The way launch control works is you put one foot on the brake and the other on the throttle..."
Hmm, yes, and the clutch pedal?
@sw4gr1d There is a launch control of sorts on manuals, though. It's electronic stability control, prevents the wheels from spinning too much by taking over throttle input and applying brakes if needed.
@sw4gr1d Very annoying. How can I do burnouts if the car is actively preventing me from doing them? Only the richest of sports cars give the option to turn it off completely. I have to reprogram my VW to give me the option.
1:45 is a MEH MEH meme.

When was launch control invented? Actually i should ask when did cars become computers on wheels? my peugeot 206 doesnt have any computers on board. From 2006 to today when did this kind of computerisation occur?
2014?
2014? The 360 CS has LC and that came out in 2003.
And your does have a computer onboard it has an ECU. Electronic Control Unit. So your question is irrelevant.
I love how everyone thinks “launch control” was invented recently. Steve griner invented the first transbrake and in the late 70s.
Not even remotly same thing....
I’m so glad in my sti all I have to do is put the car in first gear with the clutch in and give it some gas and let go of the clutch just as you normally would and it launches better than pretty much any super car out there.
Nah, any supercar would beat you off the line.
@@jimmyreece5781 😂 you obviously don’t know what you’re talking about. Nothing launches harder than a modified awd car with 4 differentials to maximize grip except maybe a Tesla. Go troll elsewhere.
@@zokusharuuku1091 You're acting like there aren't awd supercars. I'm also fairly certain they're built for better performance than whatever you can do to yours. It's hardly trolling when someone calls you out for such an egotistical comment. If you think an sti will launch better than any supercar, then do 30 seconds of research. It's ok to appreciate your own vehicle, but don't be an idiot about it.
@@jimmyreece5781 I’m not just speculating because I think my car is good at launching, I’m stating a fact that my sti will out launch most super cars out there including the awd ones. Have you been in or seen a factory Lamborghini for example or even seen one launch? They’re all terrible at it. The factory launch control keeps the rpms too low causing the engine to bog since it can’t spin the tires as they are ridiculously wide. Only a few super cars out there actually have their launch control set up properly and they’re usually rwd. Modified super cars are another story but 98% of them are stock. A lot of sti owners don’t set up their launch control properly but it takes lots of trial and error and testing in order to get the right amount of wheel spin in order to not bog the engine and keep the engine in boost. It’s an art that most car companies really just don’t have down not to mention they have reliability to consider. My twin disc clutch is strong enough to launch at whatever rpm i give it up to about 1000hp. Most factory clutches on cars like Lamborghinis start having issues once you start launching at high rpm. You’ve also got to consider gearing. Stis are geared very aggressively as they are known to be designed after rally cars where keeping rpms high is very important. I’ve even seen vw golfs out launch lambos, the lambos will pull away at high speeds as they aren’t so aggressively geared and don’t have to shift as often keeping the amount of torque to the wheels higher since they’ll be in 2nd gear at 80mph not third but they always have to play catch-up. Also I’ve spent all over $30,000 on just the engine build not to mention wheels tires and custom coil over suspension. My engine is built for 1000whp with only the turbo output limiting the power. You obviously don’t know what can be done to sti’s these days and I’m certain you’ve never been in one or any supercar which is very sad because I’d love to show you what you’re missing out on. Scaring people when I launch is one of my favorite things to do.
@@zokusharuuku1091 You said all lamborghinis are horrible at launching. A lamborghini huracan can go 0-60 in under 3 seconds. Just stop your bullshit.
