I can’t tell you how much I enjoy your tutorials. This is a little bit of a different technique for me, but I’m having a blast following along. I tried my hand at your cityscape and I was pretty pleased with the results. Room to grow for sure, but it was such a joy to paint.

Would Payne's grey be another choice to consider rather than using black?
True Payne's grey contains blue as a constituent colour, I find I overuse black on its own and get everything muddy.
The painting is really looking stunning, even unfinished :-)
Oh yes paynes grey would also work.. i did use it for many years... but it doesnt hold its darkness very well and its difficult to get really dark colours with it..
