It has the same number of cards as the main game. Technically it's a stand-alone game, not an expansion. Makes sense that the price would be the same for both. Dominion: Seaside will be an expansion.
Nice review Tom. I really like Dominion and everyone i explained and played with does also. I think the price for this expansion is a bit 2 much though since it costs about the same as the main game, about 30-35 euros here in The Netherlands. Thats a lot of money times 2.
Great review. I'm glad you showed most of the cards up-close to get a taste of it. This is my first Dominion game i bought and I'll be buying the expansions. Seaside, Prosperity, and Alchemy are expansions but Intrigue is a stand alone game. Bought it, love it, play it often!
@Cerberust i have the dutch version of the game, and i do NOT own the origional. but the instruction metion that intrigue adds 25 new kingdom (action) cards. hope this is helpfull...
Just purchased Intrigue recently, and tonight had the first few games with my partner. Intrigue is brilliant! It adds so much more excitement and strategy to the (base) game.
So I keep trying to figure out but its never said outright: Does Intrigue have the same action cards from the original PLUS the ones added? Is marketplace and festival etc etc in this or is it a completely new batch and enough that makes intrigue also a standalone? Thanks!
@SirFakeName Then, I may be wrong, but you first replace it by using an identical card from the pull, and if there is no card of the same equal weight, than you just follow the rules until you can't anymore, so you just end up trashing the card and not replacing it.
I know this is a really old video, but the saboteur says the plauer who lost the card gains a card costing 2 less than the card lost, not a card costing up ro 2
I'm planning on getting two sets of Dominion for Christmas. Any advice on which sets I should get? The people I play with aren't massive gamers, but we play Settlers of Catan (and expansions) every week and are looking to get into a new board game.
@@Trevin_Taylor Seaside is the best expansion. Its extra components are shiny and exciting, it adds good new mechanics that are not confusing and very easy to understand and the action cards have way more variety than any other expansion has. Other expansions (including the main game) are "sets" which play off each other, seasides actions cards are much more stand-alone and work excellent in any combination with any other action cards from any other expansion.
I heard the original game, Dominion isn't as good. Since it has little player interaction, and it is basically a 4-player solitaire. Is Dominion Intrigue a better option if I want more player interaction? Because couple of cards you point out in this demo, it seems like it could be used to alter and change gameplay, and possibly have it so there can be player interaction. Please tell me someone! Which is the best card game for player interaction? Original Dominion or Dominion Intrigue?
Lol, no. Dominion has never felt like a solitaire game, atleast to me. Witch, Militia, Council Room, etc. Makes sure of that. And even just watching what your opponents buy and how you deal with the limited supply decks is interaction enough when those cards aren't out on the field. I haven't played Intrigue yet, so I can't comment on which is 'better', but know that Dominion is in no way an uninteractive game.
Just find it a little odd that in the Dominion review he says a con if it is 2 to 4 players and wished 2 to 6 players could play. Then in this review he talks about how 2 to 4 this the perfect number, 5 maybe, but 6 is right out. I guess when he got his wish it didn't turn out how he imagined.
I own dominion intrigue and I never want to play it ever.. I have played it 7 times.. also at board game get together s dominion is always played and it is always my last choice to play.. it's a good game I just never want to play it ever.
the number of combination is
(25 + 25 + 2) C 10.
There are 15,820,024,220 ways to select 10 out of 52 items without regard to order.

mezzerin in Estonia it is currently almost 50 euros. Craziness.
@Garglebutt: Sorry, but Medsas is correct. Doing 52*51*...*43 doesn't take into account that the order you select doesn't matter.

Actually I din't know I was going to buy it. I want to know what cards are in a set before I buy it.

Great Hall is basically an estate
Firstly no because it doesn't stop you
Second Great hall doesn't exist anymore

the only thing that bothers me with the insert is that it doesnt work when you sleeve every card

@@Yatsura2 seaside is the worst expansion. It really needs a 2nd edition
actually you only need 6 coin and a bridge to buy a province : P (and you can pick up and extra copper, if you like, while you're at it)
great hall is an awesome card if you have nothing else to buy because its basically a free vp point that doesnt take any space in your deck.

Original Dominion or Dominion Intrigue?
Intrigue has more interaction than the main game.
has anyone how similar the artwork on the baron and the nobles is yet?
In October there will bei Dominion-Seaside! :-)
Not all kingdom cards are Action cards.
The bridge is only good if you utilize the multiple buys. Suddenly 3 coppers and a bridge gives you 2 silvers instead of one.
I like how you ended this video. Good point!
awesome review. Great charisma, too.

And of course, that you said at the end is true.
@karizzmacs
BOTH!
Lol, "why are you watching this video, you know your gonna buy it anyways".
You are wise Mr.Vassel
baron and torturer are a little too op in my opinion way too good
wow that looks cool
It's 52*51*50...*43/10!
you da man tom!
Those plastic bags would drive me crazy! XD

Harem is rubbish.
Why do I keep having to watch an Obama commercial before each dice tower video?!?
