I tried Restart in Essen. It is a very impressive game and quite innovative. It's not complicated at all in its flow. First of all, it has a basic engine building mechanism with its cards. Its cards have many uses (color, type, text, actions, points) and these are the basic mechanism of the game. Each turn you play cards, gain stats, deal with the dystopia and fill your resources. Simple as that. On the other hand, every dystopian future has another mechanism. For example, if you're trying to go back to the past to deal with the Pandemic, you roll dice to search for the vaccine (it's the module I tried). But if you're trying to bring back the laws, then you move pawns to another board and score points in a different way. Each module has something different to offer you, and combined with the card-mechanism that moves the game, (which is time travel) gives you a lot of options to customize it however you want. Depending on your tastes.
Glad you were able to play it. I feel it needs more time. Somehow the campaign page is extremely unclear (to me) as to what this game is. I feel they need a better plan to sell this. Yes, they funded, but it's not much to work with for them.

One thing to keep in mind is though the game absolutely can play at 2 players you can also play with up to 5 players - having more players means you spend more time building across all the sheets and then when your sheet gets back to you its time to destroy as the dragon and burn it all down!
Just 4 years ago it feels like the standard KS fare ran about $50. Today the entry point seems to be moving to $100 after including shipping and far more campaigns have options that run $200-$400. That's quite a bit of inflation and still people don't seem to hesitate in throwing their money at the screens...
Yea it's scary. Eveyone is going bigger and up in price as we. And that raises the shipping costs due to size and weight also. It's a problem with collecting Lego as an afol also. A lot more sets are $300-500 now than they're used to be.
Most games cost 75 or less. Most people are looking for Deluxe games and all in pledges. Premium choices come with premium prices. If you're looking for big games from big names...pay up
Something we are trying to actively combat against in the PnP space, but we understand that isn't everyone's cup of tea. That said it allows us to put out more games, quickly and at really affordable prices.

Liege is burning the midnight oil these days. What's ridiculous about Cmon nesdies their lack of communication, is that previous backers have said you aren't allowed to change your address with them once the campaign and pledgemanager closes. Even after the game arrives and you than move after, find missing pieces, you're not allowed to ask them to ship the missing items to a new address. So you better not plan to move for the next 3 years when you back a Cmon game. I paid for Dune: War for Arrakis. So I want them to focus on that and make sure nothing is missing and quality is good, beore they launch another campaign given their bad track record.
I just feel like there is less that interests me. I back less and less. I think it's just my interests. I might have backed Cloudspire or Hari last year but those games look flat and inspring today.
It's way too expensive for me as someone brand new to the game. I'm gonna have to skip after the money I spent for the last few weeks. But usually anything above $100-150 is beyond my comfort zone for all in. And my financial means to drop all at once. But I made an exception for Everdell the complete collection, and I had a year to plan for the HoMM3 first campaign.

I've been waiting for Restart for a year and a half now. It's much simpler than it looks.The videos are clear.

Take another look at the Cloudspire all-in. It's a LOT more off than "$10-15 off". Excellent game! My #1 of all time.

@@VampguyN85 I absolutely get it. CTG games are premium, but they are spendy, and we all have to watch where we put those dollars on mega-projects!
I have Cloudspire all-in so far but it’s too intimidating to learn and play. It just seems so puzzly and I kinda regret buying it. Love TMB though.
