Hello everyone! I have some corrections to make- First, Express Pass has a few different tiers. Only the unlimited pass allows unlimited admission to all rides. The other passes allow only one time on each ride per day (to skip the regular line). Also, only the Portofino Bay, Hard Rock, and Royal Pacific Hotels offer free Express Passes. Also, as of now, all Express Passes can be used on all rides, including Harry Potter Rides. Sorry for the mistakes!
@@benedekboda4634 they're unlimited :) well, I'm pretty sure they are. I'll check the Universal Orlando website :I Edit: Yep! I'm going on a family vacation in November so I needed to check, anyways :P If you're going too (I'm assuming you are since you have asked) I hope you have a wonderful vacation :)
Joshua Sammut Thank You! Yes, I am going in March 2019. That’s a pretty good deal then, it’ll save so much time! I hope you have an amazing vacation too!
ResortTV1, I have have a question about the Lighthouse that stands near the entrance to Islands of Adventure. Is is a functional Lighthouse? I hope not. I am planning a trip to Universal Studios Orlando for Mardi Gras this year, and that Lighthouse is giving me pause!
When I was like 10 years old I was so scared before the ride because of all the artifacts you see when you’re in line, my dad and I actually went through an emergency exit so I didn’t ride it. Very happy I went back and rode it a few years later, great ride.
Ashlee DA it has its pros and cons, like any large city. for example, while my homecoming was at the hard rock cafe & house of blues, my high school also has almost 4000 students so my classes are large. my school is one of twenty high schools in my county and there are four counties in orlando.
lauren omer I have a question is island of adventure and the rest of the peak together or do you have to buy another ticket to get into island on adventure ik it’s a stupid question
I think some of them will considering Disney has gone insane with its constant price increases and the always-increasing crowds. They've also hiked the prices on season passes soooo high that many have decided to not renew them. Also, one guest couldn't believe they built not one but two more hotels. Theoretically, the hotels (PLUS all those other brands like Marriott and Hyatt) can exceed the capacity of the parks. It does happen and I've seen it on vacation forums. One family said they were denied entry for an HOUR because the parks were completely full. Just ridiculous. Disney should not have built so many new hotels but they don't care, they already got the the customers' money so they'll ignore the complaints...
I definitely agree! If you’re after more ‘scary’ rides then universal is better but if you’re after family friendly then Disney. I went on holiday to Orlando and definitely thought Universal has more to offer! I loved Disney of course to!
Sounds crazy but you can thank Rowling herself for that. Universal worked VERY closely with her to get the details right. That's why Disney lost the chance to build Harry Potter World. They were so controlling and arrogant that she walked out of the meeting room. Worse, Hogwarts was going to be a FRACTION of its original size and the entire land was going to be put in the Magic Kingdom where an old attraction used to be. (FACEPALM, really Disney?) Disney has only itself to blame because they were so arrogant and controlling. Also, one thing that would have really angered the guests: Disney has a very harsh no-costume policy. Anyone over age 9 (I may be wrong about the age) would not be allowed to wear their house robes because they would be mistaken for a character from the novels. Just ridiculous. What would happen if you were in a Disney controlled version of the park and wore your robes? They kick you out, no refund. And they wonder why more and more of their fans are turning against them...
I’m going to universal in a few days and I’m probably going to cry when I get to the Harry Potter parts. I went once before and I absolutely loved it. If you like Harry Potter, then I suggest that you ride the gringots ride MULTIPLE times
As a huge Disney World fan, my family and I also love Universal. In some ways, ride-for-ride, we think Universal is actually better. Thanks for the videos you guys put out. they're pretty great.
Im leaving with my family tomorrow after school and i cant wait! Even the 7 hour long ride I can't wait! Ive never been to florida or universal Studios but im soooo excited!!!!! 😍😍😍
If you buy your ticket online depending on how you buy it you may still needed to wait in a line read the fine print. Tips: Download the app to see wait times Bring a insulated tumbler with ice and snacks! Splitting up and choosing the single rider lines help cut the wait time on certain rides. I think islands is better than universal but both are worth it. The unlimited fast past cost of one day for two people was about the cost of one night at the resort hotel so something to consider. I had it was definitely worth it. Also the link your biometrics on the resort to your fast pass so you can’t share it.
Oh you brought back lots of memories of childhood. My family visited it in 1993. My uncle was an international student in California, and we decided to go visit him. I was 10 years old and was blown away by the park and its attractions. Especially the back 2 futre ride!
Hey Josh, loved this video. We love Universal and Islands of adventure. My favourite ride is the Hulk so we usually spend more time in Islands. We always go to Universal on a week day. I feel it is worth mentioning that is so much quieter from weekends. When we go to Disney world we visit Universal for 1 day, and we get a bus from mears transportation that the Disney reception book for you, outside our resort first thing in the morning. It takes about 40 minutes and we are always there before 8am, before the park opens. We have always bought our park to park tickets at the desk but only because it's been so early that we get there and wouldn't want to wait in line to do it if we went later in the day. We have never bought an express pass and never waited that long for a ride. The cast members there told us it's so much quieter during the week and of course the fact that we go off season, been September and early December. I love that you can't take items on the rides, I think it is a good idea and I wonder if Disney will ever introduce that. I hope not for the sake of filming etc and as you say, the rides at Disney are nowhere near as intense as those at Universal. My husband prefers the rides at Universal. I prefer Disney for Disney but I prefer the intensity of the rides at Universal and Islands. Not a Harry potter fan, but I do like the rides. We went to gringotts as soon as the park opened and got on straight away. We had a small wait for the forbidden journey later on in the day and we really miss the dragon challenge, that was our favourite. I hope it is replaced with something equally brilliant. All your tips and tricks were amazing as usual Josh. There is also a dining pass you can purchase at the desk which it entitles you to a lunch, a dinner and a snack. This cost us 46 dollars for the 2 of us all in. Which we thought was Excellent for our food the entire day. It's a good option and the choices for vegetarians, as I am is amazing as well. Such an epic place. We can't wait to be back!
Coming from islands to studios if you walk down the trail to the blue man group theatre ther is a side(secret) entrance it will save you a few steps and time because it is almost always no wait and will out you in the park by minions 😎
Thanx for this video. We are planning to come from the Netherlands to Florida in September. And it's great to have all these tips, so we don't get confused and have to ask for everything! Keep up the good work!
Buy your tickets online, it's not just about saving time. We were charged almost the double when we bought our tickets up front at the Halloween celebration last year.
It ONLY works if huge families don't cheat by cutting. Unfortunately, this depends on the park management. Disney is the WORST. They let people cut at two attractions I waited at. It was 95 degrees and I waited 20 minutes in the blistering sun and one arrogant guy with his wife and 3 kids cut in front of me. Disney wouldn't make them go to the back of the line. Considering that I spent money for a 2-day pass, that was rude and disrespectful of Disney. The ride I was waiting at had NO Fastpass availability for some reason. They seem to brutally enforce all the other rules (example: you cannot let your daughter dress as a princess if she's over a certain age). I will never go to their overpriced theme parks again.
It’s a great tip! But if you’re with young children through the age of 6-9 you shouldn’t do that because they probably won’t be able to ride without you
I recommend booking everything through a single package: plane tickets, hotel room, dining plans and park tickets. It's cheaper especially if you're taking a spouse and kid with you...
Thank you so much!! I’m just planning my trip to universal in November and I’m a huge Harry Potter fan. Thank you for sharing these tips and i believe it will help me enjoy my time there better!
Thanks for another helpful video! Taking us around Universal is a nice counterpoint to all the Disney vids. (which are always great!). I'd love to see a Sea World Vlog in the near future if you have the time and inclination :-)
I am going to add a couple of pieces here: 1) As a Florida resident and someone who has been to the park I can tell you that for about 80% of the year it is quite hot here. Bring your own water bottle. They allow it in the park but make sure it is of a good size or you will be waiting at water fountains a lot. Snacks too, especially if you have kids. 2) A good amount of the rides Islands and Studios have very entertaining queues that add to the ride itself so even if you are somehow restricted from getting on the attraction there is always an exit so you can at least see some of it. Be forewarned that it usually puts you in the ride's gift shop.3) Each park area is designed around a ride's theme so there are extra little things you can do if a ride has a long wait. This also makes it easy to note what attraction you are closest to.4) Wear comfortable footwear and clothes. Odds are you will be at the park for more than 8 hours and the place is paved ground. You are going to get wet and probably sweat a little. Bring your own strollers too, the rentals are up there.5) Be prepared to spend some money. One person will usually spend a minimum of 30-40 dollars during the course of the day after their ticket price. We brought sandwiches with and still ended buying a meal late in the day. Plus the ice cream at The Wizarding World is supposed to be amazing. If you are from out of state enjoy yourselves and stay safe.
I just got back from here yesterday. I can't wait to go back. Maybe when I do, I won't have to wait almost 5 hours to ride Hagrid's Motorbike ride. It was worth the wait, but I wish I didn't have to wait that long. On the bright side, it wasn't 8 hours like when my cousins went.
Everybody Hates Dom dude I’m literally doing the same thing. I’ve been watching Disney world and Universal studio videos all day because I’m super excited.
Thanks! I don’t like the idea either, but if I were only going to be there for a day or two during a vacation, I might consider it to make the most out of our visit and not spend so much time in line.
I like it, I live in aus and I’m going on a school trip here soon and cause we’ve already raised enough money for fast passes we get them for free!! I’m so excited I’ve been watching videos about universal all day lol but I understand your POV as you pay for them yourself
I would rather pay for express passes and have no wait all day then plan my day around 3 rides at Disney. I understand your point but Disney crowds are a lot higher and they don’t offer another fast pass type of option like universal.
Great informational video Mr. Nelson. I was in that Guest Svc line on Aug 2 and it was not fun!!! However, we did get the Express pass and that made up for it all. Had a blast going on rides multiple times. Have a great week at school!!!
I wish I came here at you tube or do my research before traveling. I didn't enjoy Disney/ Universal at all because I didn't know what I was doing there. Being an immigrant, born out of US without Movie knowledge, it was so funny why I choose to do this. 😃😃😃 Well my dream was to go Miami and feel the beaches of which I did and was like why not drive 3 hrs to Disney everyone's dream. 😄😄😄 I don't regret but lesson for me was never to do things before you do some research. I wasted time and days. Now I understand everything after watching this. Thank you. Now I will have to plan another trip just to Orlando to enjoy every bit
Prepare to be very patient with the locker rooms in the Harry Potter areas, because they’re super cramped and prepare to wait in line for your food for a long time.
Thanks for the tips! I have never been there but did investigate to plan to go there. But here is a tip, Universal is more expensive then Disney is. When I can afford it I would love to go because I am a huge Harry Potter and fan of other actors/characters / shows and movie they have there.
Great footage Josh! A lot of great tips here Josh! Love seeing Universal as well! I am a lil rusty with Universal because we don’t go there as much so this def helps and will help in the future!
The express pass is for selected Deluxe Hotels Resorts only. A tip we did on our last trip was visit the park the night/evening before our first day at the parks to activate our tickets early and avoid the lines on arrival the next day.
Good accurate information on this video. Two things to add to it. #1 The best time for short wait times is 8PM. For some reason this is when everyone stops riding. King Kong stayed at an hour all the way to close but the Mummy and Jurassic turned into walk ons. We did three back to back walk ons on the Mummy from 8:30 to 9(close) while all day it was around a 40 min wait. Jurassic park was also a walk on from 8PM to close. Express pass may seem like a lot of money but from what I saw it is worth it. On a 45 min wait the express line seemed to join up at about 30 min into our wait. If you can triple the amount of rides you can go on, avoid the frustration of waiting an hour each ride, and cut out an extra days ticket price and still get more rides in than a standard ticket I say you are way ahead.
Love this ! Rewatching ! Would you guys be able to do one like this but Disneyland ? ( like airport or resort shuttle & tickets etc ! ) you guys are the best ! 🩵
Great information. Thanks! I am going in November and can not wait!! I am a huge Potterhead. It’s a 16 hour drive for me but it’s worth it. Also going to Sea World and Busch Gardens.
Question I'm wondering about should this pandemic ever end here in the U.S. and I can actually have a vacation: What's the best time of year to go (weather wise and crowd size wise)?
Awesome - Tips with Josh! TY so much, we've been thinking about trying Universal for the first time! Been Disney People for 11 years, but feel like we're missing some good stuff such as Harry Potter Land! Happy Sunday to Y'all!

In my top 3. Outstanding ride!!
I know right
Gotcha I also love it
One of the best rides I’ve went
Gotcha I cried on the ride I hate drops so..yeah but when it throws you to side to side I’m fine but drops is a no no

Magic Kingdom is mostly for little kids.
Agreed!

Going in august. First time going. First time in america. First time flying. I'm so excited!!!
This helped me a lot. Thankyouuuu, we’re going to universal tomorrow
Yeah it’s easier to print out the tickets online but sometimes we want the actual card to keep for memories ! Thanks for all the great info 😃

I'm going to Universal for the first time in April so this is very helpful!!
Awesome! Have fun!
i’m going in april as well haha!
Watching this makes me miss being there.
WHEN WILL MAY BE HERE !! im going and i literally can't wait , im staying on the resort and getting fast passes
Everybody Hates Dom dude I’m literally doing the same thing. I’ve been watching Disney world and Universal studio videos all day because I’m super excited.
@@Sussy1738qowieie atleast im not the only one whos been doing that
Omg me too! I’m going around the end of May and I can’t wait
Universal is better. Much better.
@@vanesadeluna7168 how was it????
Thanks Josh that was great info i haven’t been here since Harry Potter opened
Loved filming around Universal Studios, there are so many things you miss on your first visit.
Will definitely add these to things to film next time 🙌
That's so true!
Thank you for sharing your vacation tips on Universal. Not sure I agree with paying for Express passes but to each his own.
Very good and useful tips. Good job!
I'm going this weekend. It's late July so I'm a bit nervous about the crowds, but I'm still excited!
Clever Nickname it might rain. hope it doesn’t for your sake. have fun!
I haven’t been there since I was 6 and now I’m going again 10 years later this summer
Thanks for sharing hun. Very informative 🧡🌸
amazing video, its just like been there its bringing back the lovely memories xx fab video and tips xx
Our latest trip to universal was amazing! We had so much fun!!!
Teenie’s Town I’m going tomorrow.
XXløserXX ! Check out how my day was on my channel! Lol 😝
Need to get back here, too! Hopper Challenge!
I'm going in a week or so and so excited! :)
Great video Joshy. Really informative!
Love Jimmy Fallon ride. Lot of people don't know this I sure didn't know it existed
Prepare to be very patient with the locker rooms in the Harry Potter areas, because they’re super cramped and prepare to wait in line for your food for a long time.
Hamsterfungus you go on vacation? That sucks
Sinclair Dewitt I enjoyed my vacation, it’s just that some things weren’t fully planned out and that people can be a pain sometimes.
Pro tip. Send your pin to yourself in the parking
Can't wait to go!
Great tips for first time visitors.
Thanks for the tips! I have never been there but did investigate to plan to go there. But here is a tip, Universal is more expensive then Disney is. When I can afford it I would love to go because I am a huge Harry Potter and fan of other actors/characters / shows and movie they have there.
actually disney is more expensive. parking is about the same for both.
We have been to both. Disney is more expensive
My dad and I are planning to go back next year and this is super helpful thank you!
Great footage Josh! A lot of great tips here Josh! Love seeing Universal as well! I am a lil rusty with Universal because we don’t go there as much so this def helps and will help in the future!
Thanks, Rob! So glad you enjoyed it and found it helpful!
Very good filming and really good info. No jitter in the camera. Thank you for that. I subscribed.
Wonderful information Josh!! Thank you.
Thank you for all the tips Josh😊👍 loved the video! Martin from Surrey UK ❤️
Love this ! Rewatching ! Would you guys be able to do one like this but Disneyland ? ( like airport or resort shuttle & tickets etc ! ) you guys are the best ! 🩵
Great video! I have never been to Universal, so this will be a great resource when I decide to go!
Awesome! Have a great time when you go!
Thanks for the parking space reminder. We walked around an hour and half looking for our vehicle
It was very useful, thank you!
In Disney world and land, they should add the Mickey Mouse clubhouse in it. It would make it more better for kids! Just an idea.
Great information. Thanks! I am going in November and can not wait!! I am a huge Potterhead. It’s a 16 hour drive for me but it’s worth it. Also going to Sea World and Busch Gardens.
I’m going tomorrow so thanks!
Hi ,thanks for the video . We are planning a trip ,but i do not know if i can fill two days at the park .please advise . Thanks
Question I'm wondering about should this pandemic ever end here in the U.S. and I can actually have a vacation: What's the best time of year to go (weather wise and crowd size wise)?
Very helpful tips thank you for sharing with us.
Thanks for watching!!
I’m going on December I’m really excited. And the fact that I’m practically gonna be the know it all when I get there with my family is amazing ty!
Have fun!!
Awesome - Tips with Josh! TY so much, we've been thinking about trying Universal for the first time! Been Disney People for 11 years, but feel like we're missing some good stuff such as Harry Potter Land! Happy Sunday to Y'all!
