I was 11 years old and this film, especially this moment, blew me away! I had tears as I was so amped at seeing these characters come to life! Langella's Skeletor is one of the greatest villains of the 80s and I love that he went so hard for this role! Conti's score is truly epic! This moment will always make my heart swell!
Very underrated film. Frank Langella had just come off of a stint in broadway theater acting before this and was sharp asf. Listen to the conviction he puts into his emoting, saying his dialogue as the character would in that situation. He became Skeletor.
I was introduced to He-Man and the Masters of the Universe through this movie. And I consider this fight scene between He-Man and Skeletor to one of my favorite movie fight scenes.
When He-man bonds with his sword even though he's being electrocuted by an amped up skeletor the bond cannot be broken as the sword is the vessel to unlock his power. It only answers to its true master.
Yeah, even for the differences with the toyline, you can tell the team on this Masters of the Universe movie really had loved the original product and tried to be as faithful as possible. You could also feel how Dolph Lundgren and Frank Langella really brought He-Man and Skeletor to life for sure in this final battle, even as Skeletor has the powers of a god, yet Adam still opposes him.
Amen to that! This movie is and will always be part of my life and glad I grew up watching it and bring back fond memories and it will always have a special place in my heart
Still one of my all time fav movie scenes. He-Man was my hero, I didn't dare miss an episode - as a 5 year old you can imagine how important the show and movie was to me. Still get goosebumps hearing that exclamation, even after 34 years!!!
When I was 5 years old, this was the one and only movie I ever saw at a drive-in theater with my mom. It actually might be my first theater experience too.
Such an underated movie i actually liked it when i watched it even though it was slow this moment and others got he man right while adding so cool new moments.
@@trasegorsuch5140 if I’m hating, have you seen the Kevin smith MOTU: revelation? I have, and I thought it awful. everybody has their own opinion. Including mine.
He was my hero growing up. I got pictures of me with he-man and she-ra in the stores when I was young. This movie was my end all favourite movie. I will never speak poorly of Dolph because he played this roll.
I don't know which "cool kid" sent the memo that I wasn't supposed to like this, but I didn't get it -- because I loved it this all my heart when I was a kid... and I still do.
A legendary classic Sci-fi fantasy action movie that is firmly cemented in every 40-something’s brain from their childhood including mine. Those piercing blue eyes of Meg Foster isnryr one thing I've never forgotten.
I remember i saw this as an 8 year old and it made me cry, despite how cheesy many says i do not care! I was so happy! Thank you Dolph Lundgren making every kid's dream come true
We all know he's going to come off as a mediocre villain. It is extremely rare for anyone to do a reboot of an old movie Perfectly. Or even remotely well. It's kind of like the Predator movie that recently came out. They made the Predators into mediocre World conquerors.
Saw this on VHS when I was 6, and after the movie, my Dad took me to the toystore and bought me that Little Wizard with the magical instrument (supposedly Orko but LOL).
For us kids in the 80's, this was our 'Vader in the dark hallway' at the end of "Rogue One". The music, the dialogue, everything was just what we wanted in He-Man.
Such a perfectly cast film. Despite the budgetary and technological restrictions, Gary Goddard made a classic of ‘80s cinema that absolutely stands the test of time. Can’t wait to show this to my kids in a few years 😊
Why they never made another movie like this?, I saw this movie since I was 11 and it’s still one of the best sci-fi movies, stuck in my head every time I think of the universe and aliens
When I was a kid I couldn't get around Dolph voice but Skeletor left an impression of me but over time watching Dolph acting, I gotten used to his accent. I just watched this movie on Amazon. It was f--kin awesome
I don't see why everyone hates Revelation so much. I find it quite enjoyable. Mark my words, our children's children are gonna give Revelation the same positivity to we gave to 1987 35 years AFTER it was released. Mark 'em!
Frank Langella is just in a completely different movie entirely and it makes this movie all the better. Also, there's just something cool about the moment when He-Man says "But I will."
Hopefully, the newest reboot for He-Man will get the green light from Sony Pictures. This Skeletor looks (and sounds) more like Mumm-Ra from ThunderCats.
Frank Langella made Skeletor a goddamn badass of a villain.
And dolph made he-man one badass hero. Wahey!
Frank Langella gave a brilliant performance.
Although Dolph's acting wasn't great, he was the natural choice for He-Man and he was actually great in the role.
Im curious to know where Kajex called he man gay, I don't think he once stated that
Masterful performance.
Who doesn't give chills this scene, even if you saw it a thousand of times for thirtyfive years?
It brings back the summer of 87!
It genuinely makes me feel four years old again, sitting cross legged in front of TV.
Bro, I get every time and I love coming back to this video weekly!
@OldSchoolCurt I remember it well.
So true real Thats so trillion dollar i watctced it for time again
“Let this be our final battle”; That one line is almost as epic in this movie as “I have the power”.
Символично. Ведь после этого фильма про Химена уже не выпускали мультиков ооочень долго.
I watch the whole movie just for part the sword it gives me g bump
It actually might be more.
To me he is referring to the countless confrontations they’ve had during the run of the cartoon. 😂

Только было ошибкой Скелетора одевать в золотую фольгу.
Langella’s performance and THIS moment are what make this film memorable. Chills brother.
I don't care what anyone says; this is 50 seconds of the most epic scene in cinema history
Agree
Ever
I love this movie. It has its problems but it’s pure 80s magic. This scene is amazing.
So true! Love coming back to this for the nostalgia
Right with you!!
Let’s talk about how perfect the music is in this scene, as soon as he grabs the sword the change in score is absolute perfection
Bill Conti. He did the score for Rocky!
Whoevers idea it was to do this Shakespearean skeletor, as opposed to the cackling goof of the animation, is the real master of the universe.
no, the real master is the dude that made it 1 second too long.
@@dimitriosdesmos4699huh? Made what too long?
Langella studied Shakespeare so I'm guessing it was his idea
I have to say I watched this film for the first time on Sunday in a long long time and this scene just gave me the chills.
Yes, the film has faults, but this scene is very iconic and will go down in history.
Victory!
this movie was so awesome to watch when you were like 10 years old and in the theater

He reportedly did this film as a favor to his then-young son who was a huge MOTU fan
@@DV_Dark_Jedi Yep and he also said that of all the roles he's played, this was his most favorite. It really shows.

The first 20 seconds of this clip is pure goosebumps. What a musical score.
Saw this at a drive in when I was about 4 years old. It was awesome, one of my earliest memories.
Saw this film for the first time last week. You know, while it's super cheesy, it's actually very entertaining. Dolph made a decent He-Man.
It's better than one might think it is.
It's my go to for just a Fun movie

He is He man

When I was 5 years old, this was the one and only movie I ever saw at a drive-in theater with my mom. It actually might be my first theater experience too.
I enjoyed the film. Regardless of Dolph Lundgren's wooden performance as He-Man, I will never forget his delivery of the line "I HAVE THE POWER!"
It was a little hollow but…. He made it work

Wow am 38 and I just went on UA-cam to see my fav part of the movie from when I was a kid

One of the greatest cosmic operas in existence
Still to this day one of Frank Langella's favorite parts to play.

Definitely more respectful to the characters, too
You guys are just hating.

Looks better than Masters Of The Universe Revelation
A He-Man so badass his sword’s handle makes a cracked whip sound when he grabs it
I've never seen the movie, but I love the music in this scene.
That's the 80s my friend. Even bad movies had good music in it.

Bill Conti. He did the score for Rocky
Bill Conti was everywhere in that era. And I have to say, none of them failed
