    Looking forward to a update on what you've done to this little camper to enhance the on-the-road livability.

    As a storage solution on our teardrop, I ran a Yakima cargo box on top. Clothing was a thing that took up the most of our limited useable space. Those items could be stored in a clean/dry compartment and easily accessed, but no longer under foot. A day's worth of clothing to change into could be placed in the interior cupboards for the next day's adventures. Dirty clothes go into a bag and into the top box so, again, not under foot. The other thing you might think about is an awning room attachment. Doubles your "useable" room - especially when dealing with what you have for your child at that age. Ours has one wall that is zippered which is up against the side of the camper and can be unzipped so you can access the inside. Not exactly weather/bug proof, but it can also be zipped closed when you don't need it. Also - could be a place for additional sleeping...

      @roamingwithjosh  2 роки тому

      That’s a really good idea on the storage box. The awning came with a large annex room so we will definitely be using that to keep the little one out of the elements. We appreciate the input!

    I love that camper but my old big arse might need a tad bit more luxury lol but it’s such a nice size to pull. Killer value for the money.

    Looks pretty nice. How does it ride behind the Subaru? Does it have electronic braking? Is the hitch one of those articulating kind for off road / softroading? What kind of shore power inlet does it have? Could you say run an extension cord to a solar generator like a GoZero, Jackery, thanks r EcoFlow? I’d put your outdoor shower connection on the side opposite your awning so you don’t have a muddy wet mess where you plan to have your outdoor bedroom extension. Thanks for sharing the cool new toy… ahhh… rig / digs.

      Rides really well behind the Subaru. The trailer does have electronic brakes, but the vehicle is only wired for a 4 pin so I have to swap that out when I get home. It breaks pretty good as is, but I’m definitely adding the 7 pin. It is a lock and roll hitch so it articulated in every direction. It has a standard electrical cord that you plug in for shore power. That’s a really good point and I’m glad you mentioned putting it on the other side. Thanks for comment!

    Did you mention what you paid? Looks like they start around $13k, for that price I would want heat and AC. Do they offer heat and AC as an option?

    • @roamingwithjosh
      @roamingwithjosh  2 роки тому

      They do! It’s hard to find an off-road teardrop with all the bells and whistles for 13k. Only option would be to build one and a kit starts at around $7500, that’s before adding anything to it like heater, battery, AC or water storage.

      @@roamingwithjosh agree in regards to the price. IMO the entire 'teardrop' market is way over priced especially when you consider the price of full size campers...
      That market as a whole is taking advantage of supply/demand and raising prices to match. However I feel that demand will drop off over the next couple of years as the new car smell goes away and the fad dies down... I also suspect that the used market will get flooded resolving the supply problems.

    As I just subscribed I'm having fun watching what your doing. Again, I'm single so my space requirements are much different. My Crosstrek has a 4" ultrafoam mattress inside and sleeps great! No dogs, cats, or kids .. or wife LOL After many years of tents I found living in the vehicle the best option .. for me. I was wary of roof top tents from the git go .. I'm 77 and climbing up and down to pee or shake out a cramp .. No! Wonder what the trailer will did to your mileage?

    • @roamingwithjosh
      @roamingwithjosh  2 роки тому

      lolol yea the roof top tent situation can get a little dicey in the middle of the night, especially in bear county, it's always a little dangerous getting down. The trailer definitely killed the MPG, we're down to about 11.8 now.

    I just got a Wilderness 2 weeks ago. How is it for towing the teardrop?
    Also I really want a 270 awning on my Wilderness and have been studying ways to get that done. Any suggestions on lifting the awning so you can stand under it?

    • @roamingwithjosh
      @roamingwithjosh  2 роки тому

      It tows the teardrop really well! You can usually get mounting brackets that are in the shape of an L which allows you to mount on top of whatever rack you have and that should give you a bit more space for the awning. Not sure how tall you are so it really depends on that.

    That teardrop is small! LOL! your wife wasn't happy about the sleeping in the car notice. That was a real time unrehearsed surprise for her. Why didn't you consider down sizing to the Geo Pro 15tb? Even if it fell apart in 8 years it would still be worth it....king bed too.

    • @roamingwithjosh
      @roamingwithjosh  2 роки тому +1

      Lololol she was aware before we started. The geo pro wouldn’t survive the places we go, it would end up breaking into a million pieces, so I went with something a bit more heavy duty.

    Since you’ve had it a while, is the touch screen still a pain? Is it a concern about it malfunctioning or over alerting you, especially after it getting tossed around for a while? Would it prevent you from buying even though your keeping this one for now? Good videos. Thanks!

    • @roamingwithjosh
      @roamingwithjosh  2 роки тому

      Hey, Jim! The touch screen is annoying, but like most things in life that you don't prefer, you get used to its quirks. I wouldn't say it would stop me from buying it even if I had known. Hope that helps. Thanks for the input!

    Now that you’ve had the 245s (tire) for a while and now towing a camper, have you run into any rubbing issues anywhere? Curious with the added tongue/hitch weight if its created any rubbing. I also have a teardrop (NuCamp Tag) and looking to upgrade tire/wheel setup on my OBW.

    • @roamingwithjosh

      Still no running issues at all, which I was surprised about. Everything is snug.

      The wind tore it up a little bit, but that was because I didn't have it secured properly. So far it's performed as expected and it's a reasonable price compared to others. Thanks for the comment!
