I worked on wildfires for over 30 years in the PNW. I trained inmate firefighters for six years then returned to Engineering Division as Construction Superintendent. But because I had so much fire experience that I was sent to more fire training and dispatched to many fires. I was called off fire duty to train 200 Yakama Nation wild land fires. Then called off fire line to be part of a team to train 600 National Guards for fires. I have had many positions I have been qualified for.

I was the DNR superintendent at Cedar Creek Corrections Center for eight years. We had 15 ten-man fire crews. I recommend you go to UA-cam and search for DNR inmate fire crews. It is only three minutes long. The DNR assistant superintendent is Mark Huston. I hired him as a crew supervisor in 2005. I have been retired for over 10 years. But still had my qualifications to be part of an Incident Management Team. The last fire I served on was in 2018. After 30 years I am retired from fires at age 70. But my wife and I still go backpacking.

For Bureau of Land Management 37 is the age cutoff for perms but no age limit for seasonals.

I wear the tactical 4021 for my everyday wear alnk.to/6xHFaLl
however for fire I'd wear the T3005 Tactical Mid-Calf alnk.to/goY66u1
