"My least favorite part in the morning is when I close my laptop and stop working on business stuff and go get ready for school." Yeah, I so feel you on that. I LOVE teaching, but my passion is bringing highly engaging resources into the classroom that teachers and students both enjoy. The classroom for some is a gateway rather than a destination.
Rap Opera for Kids Yes! I never thought that would be the case but it is. I’m constantly thinking about things I should do for my business. I love my kids and my job and everything but I find I want to stay home with my laptop. Currently trying to enjoy my teaching as much as possible until it’s possible to move on.

i know its been a year since u posted this but i am quitting my job to focus on my business! my least favorite part is also leaving the house for work. that and COVID are my top reasons why I'm leaving my teaching job!

Just a tip on the flattening your products. Just making it a pdf doesn't make it flattened. You can still copy and paste from the pdf. Even if you lock it, they can still grab the clip art. I thought I was safe locking it and it wasnt. The only way I could find, was doing it through PowerPoint as an image and reuploading to PowerPoint as you said.
Omg, I totally agree with you about the stick v. Quarter note thing. I always use real notes with rhythm activities 😂
Lauren Marcinkowski I’m so glad it’s not just me! I used to try but it was just annoying and I have not noticed any different in my kids learning since I went to just regular notation!
Questions for future vids: How do you increase customer retention? Do you collaborate with other TpTers, and if so, how do you initiate the process? How does your spouse handle being married to a teacher/TpTer/businesswoman/anything else you want to add to this description?
Rap Opera for Kids I’ll come back to you on the first few questions when I figure something out. I have never collaborated with other sellers. My husband thinks it’s great. He is all about my business and gives me suggestions and thoughts. He’s coming to the TPT conference with me this summer!
Here is another good idea for a TpT UA-cam video. What is a "Growing Bundle?" Also you did not answer my last comment about should you PDF everything or post it as "editable"? I have been doing both. I assume editable means posting the documents as Keynotes, PowerPoint, Word documents, etc. As a late TpT starter you have been my inspiration to finally get started. I appreciate your enthusiasm.
Step-by-Step Science I’m so glad! I answered your original question (thanks for your patience!) and as to the second, a growing bundle is when people buy a bundle and you promise to add more to it. Most people will charge the final amount (so if you have 10 resources by the end, you charge $50 or whatever) but I do mine differently. Mine are basically bundles and every time I add a new product, the price goes up, but if you already purchased, then you get the new ones for free. I’ll have a bundle video out soon to explain better!

Thanks for answering the 80/20 question. Your conversion rates for social media are the opposite of mine. My website and Pinterest don't convert well, but my UA-cam traffic is decent.
Rap Opera for Kids Interesting! I wonder why they are so different. I don’t focus as much teaching content on UA-cam, which I assume is the reason for that.
@@BeccaDavis My resources are based on songs, so naturally, a platform like UA-cam would convert well since it is a site for media. I haven't watched all of your 100+ videos, but have you ever posted any of your personal teaching songs to UA-cam? That may boost conversion.
Most videos people say .pdf your products so that it can not be reposted as someone elses stuff, but then I see people posting products on TpT as "editable" so it can be adjusted for other teachers specific needs. What do you do? What is your opinion?
Step-by-Step Science I generally post PDFs. Sometimes I do editable but they are specific things- like the Choice Board I made for distance learning. In that case I save my slides as pictures and then upload the pictures and add text boxes for the editable parts. But it is more of a resource by resource thing, not a general yes or no.

TPT question: I'm just starting my shop. I've watched other videos you've uploaded and it's helped me a ton. I did upgrade to premium and bought fonts, clip art, etc to help my products stand out. I still do not have a blog and have not advertised on Pinterest yet. I don't have too many items up, what do you suggest I do next? Start a website, look at Pinterest ads, or just focus on putting out content? TIA😊
Lauren Marcinkowski I would say content is king! Go for resource and start a blog so that you can gain a bigger following and talk more in depth about your products. My products with a blog or a video on them do WAY better. Don’t worry about paying for ads for a while- at least until your business can pay for them!

What do I need, in other words, the prerequisites for registering as a TPT seller. Also, I live in the Caribbean, Trinidad and Tobago to be precise... is becoming a TPT seller an option for me?
They’re aren’t any prerequisites- you just sign up. Of course, it’s created for teachers so you should be an educator/curriculum designer but they don’t check or anything. Yes! There are sellers from all over the world so as far as I know, the country doesn’t matter!
HUGE Question! What if I am outside the USA? Can I still do TPT and earn money?
Hey girl! Yes. I have heard from many different teachers who sell from different countries. I am in the US, so I don't have any details, but I know it is possible!
Teacher question: I am a special education teacher and music teacher. I'm employed by an educational agency to teach kids in alternative education settings and kids with special needs music. It's awesome! However, I went in cold this year with little guidance, no curriculum, etc. Obviously I have had and still have a lot of ground work to lay. Any curriculums you suggest? It doesn't help I teach K-12 😂 any advice would be appreciated. It's been a struggle creating so many lessons each week!
Lauren Marcinkowski are you the one who emailed me? I hope that was helpful! I love the game plan for elementary. It goes day by day, but you can pick and choose what you do. Music K8 is also super awesome. I don’t teach high schoolers so unfortunately I can’t help there!

And it's funny because instagram converts well for me, but pinterest does not. I guess one thing could work for someone. And not for others. But I would just keep doing it because you never know, theres some people that use one platform and not the other.

Yes, I do (Becca’s Music Room for TpT and Becca’s TPT Tips for you) but I don’t focus a lot on them
