Every time I see the scene where Peter vanishes it breaks my heart. The way he cries for help. He knows that he will die and his reaction is to look for Tony's arms. And right after Tony asked him if he was alright and as he holds him you can hear where he asks...Save me
I feel so bad for peter, he had to walk back through those school doors like he hadn’t just fought in a war, like he could of died, like he didn’t loose someone who was like a father to him, he has to hide it all away and pretend that everything is fine and like he is a normal teenage boy when in reality he is fighting to save everybody

The fact that tony has a picture of peter in his kitchen five years later really makes me think he did all of this for peter. Yeah he wanted the other avengers back and half the population back, but at the end of the day peter was what changed his mind. What made him decide to go through with the plan to save the world.
Yes, just by less than 5 minute glance on that photo he had a plan for the time travel thing.
It was cause of Peter. He didn't want to do it, but then realized that Peter will be back too.
