Personally, I think it looks like a decent, lightweight little RC. I agree with another commenter that it should've probably been named a Bandit 4X4. The problems with it (like any Traxxas) are the proprietary battery setup, lack of motor option/ESC room, and PRICE. Face it, it's downright inexpensive to manufacturer. Even WITH the Traxxas parts availability/support, they overcharge for what their products are. Way. But, it's light, efficient, and should probably handle 3 to maybe 4s with an aluminum center driveshaft and aftermarket all-metal center diff. Maybe the RC world needs to manage expectations and get with the lightweight program. The weight problem has gotten out of control. I fell down that rabbit hole. It's tough to get out of.
Traxxas always gets there’s up front $$$, but the fact is that they have the best part support around. Also the vxl comes out in January it’s a lot better
Hard pass. Just bought the Team Corally Syncro4 at $329 (with a coupon at RC Hobby Explosion) and it's 4s capable (Hobbywing Max 10 and 4068 motor) and has a center diff. It's bullet-proof and hauls butt with a 17-tooth pinion (over 45 mph). What do you get with the Jato? Plastic geared servo, no center diff, sintered diff ring & pinion, plastic center drive shaft, non-adjustable battery holder (vs. velcro), plastic 17 mil hubs, plastic shocks, fixed turnbuckles... on and on and on. I may convert one of my Slash trucks over to a buggy, though. Will wait for parts to become available on Jennys.
This thing is junk. Useless. No comparison to the original Jato. It's a wanna-be TRX with poor performance. It's a Rustler 4x4, just bigger with no power and a front end that will break on the first crash. Junk shocks, it should have come with GTR's and a center diff for the market it's targeting.
2s then it is , lol . They’ll have more powerful versions . This is how the RC game goes . Offer the small motors sell some upgrades, mop up , catch the people who didn’t have to get it first with a 3s version and then one more 4s or 6s bad azz one built to the gills like an arrma Kraton
It’s not a Jato at all and it will never be anything like the Jato. I started calling it the Bandit 4x4. That would be the more appropriate name for it if I’m being completely honest
Man , they’re cheap as hell with the plastic driveshaft , lol . I know weight is a thing and plastics can be good if it’s like the 3s driveshafts they’ve held up for me , even the plastic gears have held on 3s except I’d pit a metal inthe rear cuz that’s the one that always went for me .
I will check it out today, but it looks like the driveshafts are from the rally Ford fiesta, and the arms look totally different than what a slash would give
Why? This is something people made 10yrs ago with the slash 4x4🤦 2s is just hilarious. 3s is the sweetspot AKA ARRMA TYPHON 3S😑 Traxxas - a little too late.
I’ve been referring to it as the Bandit 4x4
Yes, that would be a much more appropriate name.

See now this is what I want to see. Pull the thing apart and see what Traxxas actually innovated any new tech or progressed.

The January release will have all the upgrades and the price will be upgraded too. $529 and still no sway bars . I’m glad I didn’t sell my Tekno buggy
Would be cool to get the raptor chassis on it.

Eating popcorn and reading all the btxhing. Dont like it dont but it.
such a missed opportunity, this should have been a proper 1/8th buggy layout. Metal chassis and 1/8th scale power like the sledge.
Because traxxas is cheap. Oh, we wanna forget the nightmare that is the traxxas sledge.
Maybe they should have slapped a 1/10th or 9th scale, badge on it to lower expectations.
So if i wanna race it with my typhon 3s, i have to run it with a smaller 2s batt?😂

JUST CAME ACROSS YOUR CHANNEL.. NEW SUBSCRIBER!!!! 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙
Glad to have you on board! 🎉
Erevo was aluminum
MSM got pimped on this one.
When did traxxas become "Apple of the rc world". Everyone else made this years ago, but traxxas does it, it will be "revolutionary"🙄
I only want a nitro Jato.
It’s not a Jato at all and it will never be anything like the Jato. I started calling it the Bandit 4x4. That would be the more appropriate name for it if I’m being completely honest
Hybrid slash-bandit. Entry level race buggy. Just don't understand why they chose the Jato name. 70mph nitro stadium to 30mph 4x4 buggy??

Are the front and rear arms Rally width or the wider Slash arms?
I will check it out today, but it looks like the driveshafts are from the rally Ford fiesta, and the arms look totally different than what a slash would give
I'm also curious on the arms, and links compared to the rustler slash and stampede. The links definitely look new
@ they look like a updated rally arm that has provisions for sway bars. The driveshafts are the EHD that come on all the updated vehicles now.
How you announced it before Traxxas themselves 😂
🎉 they will announce it November 1st
Well that wasn't a answer lol😅😂
@@giostealthr1 You even know when they will announce it lol

Diff size 1/10 or 1/8 ¿
It is 1/10th it’s pretty much a backslash
I agree bad name
Well what can you do …. People who own a nitro jato must be pissed
More traxxas garbage
More samw tears. 😂
