I broke in my '21' so gently following the owners manual exactly. But in the first 5000 miles I added 1/2 a quart twice to the engine. I was upset and thought that this would be the norm. But after the dealer did the first oil change and did an update (to the computer maybe) I’ve had no issues 2 1/2 years later. It was just a long break in period. The car is solid. Like you I change cars often and I thought the automatic would be a negative, but the ZF transmission is so fun and quick that it’s always entertaining. And this car is so unique… it always stirs up controversy. Sad to see the Supra manual losing 5 mpg's and slower, but I know it would be fun. The way car prices are now I think I’ll keep mine a few more years and that’s fine with me! 😊
Thats good to hear! I wonder if all the ones that had issues were just early bad software ones because from what ive read its a fairly small sampla size that had the issue. Also yeah it sucks that the manual is a bit slower and honestly the way this engine serves up the power pairs up so well with the zf is magical. And yeah the car market is absolutely crazy right now. The msrp went up again for the 2024 and now im asking myself why all the excuses about saving money by doing a joint project if the car will end up being expensive anyways?
Mine had oil consumption issues from 4k-9k miles. After 20k its all but gone. Now at 30,000 miles and zero consumption. I think the engine is fully settled in.

Same! I'm at 30k and no oil consumption.
