It’s alluded to in the book that Luke’s dragon was hatched from Syrax. So that scene on the beach was actually not one but two mothers mourning the loss of their children. Pretty cool aspect.

Knowing Rhaenys could have burned the whole green family and ended the war, BUT in doing so killing Helaena who is just the sweetest... I can't wish she did.
This entire episode is Daemon pacing around, ludicrously accusing allies left and right of supposed treason all because Rhaenyra won't let him off the leash and it is so perfectly Daemon lol. The second Rhaenyra let's him do his Daemon business he, because he is Daemon, takes it too far and in a wildly chaotic direction with little regard for the consequences lmao.
It’s really going in with a huge bang with doing Blood and Cheese right at the start of S2. I feel bad for Helena being traumatized not but twice. Justice for doggo
Helaena tried to trick them. She pointed at the boy thinking they will not believe her and will turn to Jaehaera and kill her. Instead, Cheese saw past her trick, he figured out that she was lying because of her eyes. That's why they, in the end, got Jaaehaerys' head and poor Helaena ran away with her daughter. And a possible reason why there aren't any guards is because they were sent away by Criston Cole and the queen, so their affair wouldn't be notice.
@@nataschasummers Cole was off duty. He has to sleep sometime too. The guard was set up properly. The real issue is that even the royal family (especially the Green branch) doesn't know of the passages. Rhaenyra didn't either before Daemon took her through one of them.
Cole is definitely the most reprehensible character. If he just admitted he was a POS with no honor and stopped acting like he was better than everybody he would be a little more likeable. Yet he is the biggest hypocrite and pretends like he has more honor than everyone else while he in fact has none. The fact that Queen Rhaenyra broke his heart and rejected him and he's still bitter about it all these years later does not help his case either.

This version is so different and weirdly illogical. Because if I recall correctly, book B&C kill the guards on post and tie up Alicent to witness. So Cole wasn't even there, and Alicent was. They had to completely change the scene and make guards nonexistent to make it work.
