@@christianflores there was a make promodel he did that Chris Chann skated a bunch that I never ended up finding. The style of it was so dope and it looked like it had an extra layer of black suede all over the toe box minus the shell toe. Im looking for more of those haha!
I love the idea of skating a more Avant gaurde sneaker, I own a pair of Y-3 forums and always thought they would be great for skating

Sashiko ( "SA - SHI - KO" ) is a traditional hand sewing technique that Japan, i believe invented, for custom denim clothing they made in the past. Nowadays in the fashion scene, a lot of people have been using the technique on modern day pieces such as jeans, denim jackets, hats, and even shoes. There are also different ways people try to intimate the sashiko stitching style by using sewing machines as like what Yohji did on the 3 stripes on these Gazelles. Whats also cool about sashiko sewing is that you can make insane repeated patterns and designs since its traditionally done by hands. Takes a lot of patience and time to usually finish a certain product when it comes to this method of hand sewing.

Aren’t that hanging threads annoying? Idk how they look irl and how aesthetic they are but in images they look annoying. I ordered the superstar verison, green color too, i cant wait for them :)

I would cut off the stupid hanging threads it looks stupid but overall they rly look dope. As you said they remind me more of a Puig shoe than Gazelle. I like the original version as well but fkn hell 330$ is way to much :D

The Gazelle ADV Skate Shoe is a vulc - exact same outsole construction as the 3MC and the Busenitz VULC. The Average Joe Gazelles are modelled on the OG deadstock Gazelles which are a cupsole - these are not skate shoes - one of the main reasons we skated them in the early 1990s is that they were not fashionable anymore like they were in the 80s, and were therefore cheap AF, being offloaded in discount sneaker stores.

I don’t know why they changed the style with loose threads sticking out of the side that will get dirty in a bicycle crank and possibly stuck in a bicycle crank so you can bust your ass

I really like the idea of suede covering the outsole. I really like the flick of a tall toe box where the suede makes a good amount of contact with the griptape. Sounds like that's just not the right kind of suede for skateboarding
Nice. It would need to be a tougher suede. This suede was super soft. Broke down really easy.

I can’t help but think Yohji took inspiration from Rick with the loose threads. Their worlds sort of collide and while I am sure it isn’t the case, to me these are kind of uninspired. Sick pair nevertheless!

It’s a half designer shoe so thats it behind the price and Y3-s often reimagine classic shoes with pretty good quality on them!For skating they wouldn’t last long obviously
