With E85 it’s 105 octane vs 93 octane.
It keeps the charge cooler but has its downsides.
Lower mileage
Corrosive to fuel pumps
Sticky residue for injectors
Harder starting during winter
Will split normal hoses not rated for E85
The benefits are the
octane rating
More aggressive tuning
Higher HP possibility in same engine
I own a 335i since 2007 and this platform has been trying to make the most power off E85. It causes a lot of issues on the platform but it seemed like the car was made for ethanol mixes . Had the correct hoses at the LPFP and stainless lines at the HPFP. We upgraded the LPFP, added in some piggy backs to up the fuel, then years later used an actual flash to increase fuel even more. It seemed like we were stuck at 475HP to 550HP and then everyone figured out a method to use E85 and boom 💥 600HP. Then we needed a dual HPFP. Then added Larger turbo inlets and port injection then bam 750HP.
Then there were more options after that helped make into the 800’s+.
Don’t sweat the glory HP. It’s all fun until you have to replace the engine .
Yup your correct! I like the benefits of E85 but not the down side of it. More money required to get to use it to your full advantage.

Yep for the crank pulley , I tried using a Bosch impact and it would not loosen. I ended up buying the crank tool from Oreilys . It was $40 compared to amazon $20 but it worked easily . I’m glad I didn’t buy the Milwaukee impact just to loosen the bolt. I’ve also done the method for manual cars where you put it in 5th gear and have someone press the brake while you loosen the bolt.
That is definitely a tool ima buy and if I had someone to help I would have done that 5th gear method haha I guess I could have shoved a screw driver in the brake rotor to wedge it from moving lol
With e85 you use about 30 percent more fuel that's why you're filing up more often but your engine runs a little cooler and it helps with knocking too.
Yup 👍🏻 running the 101 fuel I’m running does basically the same thing. I actually had to add 60% fuel over the entire map when I switched to E85 on my last supercharger setup. There is definitely pros and cons for sure

Pretty cool idea changing crank pulley to up boost. Iv always seen just change super charger pulley out.

Cars use more e85 because the stoichiometric ratio is 9.733:1 so it requires more fuel to air than gasoline.
Yes also my 1000cc injectors are at 60% duty cycle with 93 they would be close to max at E85. I remember on my supercharged civic i had e85 and I had to at 60% fuel over the entire map to get it drivable. I was like woah!
Just need some wide sticky tires and this thing is gonna be a rocket ship!

When I had a lowered rsx I had to move the tie rods to the top of the mount because the bump steering was outrageous
That’s my current problem. I show at the end this little piece that does fix that bumps steer.
You're going to need stickier compound tires now, regular street tires are no longer sufficient. Sounds healthy, keep up the hard work.

Ha same here! I will get smoked a lot around here but I’m not in it to win. I just love the fun and racing. Drag strip content will come when I get more funds. I have a bit of work to do before it’s track ready, brakes, steering adjustment/alignment,new cv axles and some tires if I can.

You burn more E85 than pump gas because it takes 33%ish more fuel to make the same power that’s why with e85 you always need a bigger fuel system but because of that you get some cooling effects as well as higher octane so you can run more timing more timing more powwwaaa lol cool build man 🤟🤟

It would be cool if someone can make a core that will fit under the supercharger that could pass freon from air conditioning through it cool it down then turn off ac and run. I got wild ideas 🤷🤦🤣

@@TexasHondaChannel correct me if I'm wrong but you can use just the rbb intake cam from the 50-06 tsx and the cheaper exhuast cam from 04-06 since they are the same.

Question-how is your IAT's not changing during any of the datalog runs you did? I notice at the dyno they are 20 degrees thereabout higher, but they don't change during acceleration which, particularly with a supercharger and no intercooler, the temps should rise immediately, correct? At least a degree. LOL. Also, does your tuner tune strictly off a/f or does he use co from tailpipe (I see what looks like a 5-gas analyzer hooked up??)

I’m still stock lines and stock pump even. I will be upgrading pump then fuel lines eventually

Hey just a heads up I'm really interested in the stuff your doing and would choose to watch but noticing the videos drop late....too late too watch and I find myself by the next morning/afternoon have a full sub list to get through. I feel like if you were also a mid day release I'd choose your videos over others but by the time the drop I'm burnt out for the day. I know that's a ME problem but if you dropped when the bulk of other car youtubers noon eastern and pacific, or even 6-9am like the exotic channels. It might get you more views overall. Just a suggestion.
Thanks for the suggestion. Its hard to accommodate all time zones and regions and i get a lot of my editing done at night here so that's why i drop them around this time. I can try to schedule them for a different time i just figured the sooner the better lol.

Alot of people sub and forget then by morning everything that dropped is so far down the notification list it gets missed or forgotten. I'd just like up see you grow and be able to do more K series content in the future!

You can supercharged almost anything. How hard it will be i have no idea but with the right price and the right know how im positive you could do it! I would supercharge everything if i could but im too broke for all that lol It should be similar to my J series supercharged Pilot i did but with different throttle adapter plate needed and a few other things figured out such as Belt length, Pulley type on that year and more. Tune is the most important but that should be easy since its a 2016 accord they make tuning hardware for almost anything newer

You loose boost with a smaller pulley. That's why he used a k24a8 pulley.
Don't buy the over spinning bs..you can spin it as fast as you want SO LONG as you can control the heat.. a good ic , meth or ic sprayers gets the job done... your just fine bro
Yea man i still don’t trust over spinning them but I’m not too far over the rpm plus we didn’t take into consideration of water pump, alt, idlers which might make that 16,000 number a bit lower. Either way I need to get water meth
