If Fields had the ability to take the position from Russ, he would already have done it. People say it’s going to be harder for Russ in pass. I think it will be harder for Fields with the pads on, because he doesn’t process nearly as quickly as Russ, and the pads speed up and intensify the game.
Justin Fields is inaccurate and needs to learn to read defenses. There is no competition not sure why this keeps coming up. I would trust Kordell more than I would JF

Stop it.. even I can read defenses pre-snap… Justin just has a problem improvising and he takes too long going thru progressions… then he acts on impulse… I do agree there is not a competition right now tho… Russ is the starter

Russ reads much faster…faster than almost anybody. His issues are stubbornness and his sometimes ability to see over the line. Those things can be fixed by the creation of lanes and by giving him 35 A/G and coaching him to dump the rock when a play isn’t there. Easy fix. If they can cut Russ’s sacks in half, Russ will be a first-team all-pro and MVP candidate again. Fields’s inability to process quickly cannot be fixed. It can be masked to a degree, but that will frustrate his coaches. He just doesn’t have it, man. He’s just an athlete, and he isn’t much better as an athlete. Russ can still run.
The media is trying to push Russ out of the NFL, but it’s at the behest of their bosses, and their bosses are doing a favor for some powerful person or group inside the NFL. I believe it all started when Russ laid out to Roger Goodell his detailed plan for becoming an NFL owner when they were together during the SB55 weekend. All of Russ’s troubles began after that.
