An average speed of 80mph is pretty fast. That's as fast as the Acela is south of NYC. I love this webinar, one of the best. I love passenger rail, I've always been a believer in rail. And I will always advocate for more passenger rail! Keep fighting the fine fight. I'm a Gen Z guy and I will stand behind you. We fighting this together! Let's get her done!!!
I think the airport integration is key, and any airport that integrates with modernized rail will benefit. I'm looking at MCO (Orlando), ATL (Atlanta), CLT (Charlotte), DFW (Dallas), DCA (Washington-National) as south-eastern locations particularly benefitting here.
YESSS!!!! Someone who said it!! I am completely behind this and I think you will find most of Gen Z is too!! We want High Speed Rail!! It’s better for the environment! Please make sure this gets done and fast!!!!!!
I'll be happy when a trip by rail is faster than by car. Macon to Atlanta is a great start but we shouldn't settle for a High Performance Rail service (80mph), we should really aim at High Speed Rail (110mph+). Also as a greater Atlanta resident would love to take a weekend trip to Savannah by rail, I'm assuming a lot of people would do the same trying to take a break from city life.
110 mph tracks combined with some 125 mph tracks can achieve an average speed of 80 mph and that's faster than by car. Yes Atlanta must be connected much faster to Macon and Savannah and Nashville and Dallas and Charlotte for starters.
I too would love to see this project come to fruition - in my lifetime. But I've been waiting since 1988 when I first heard the idea of rail service from Chattanooga, TN through Atlanta to Athens, Macon and Savannah. I really would like to see this happen while I'm able to travel unassisted.
I really enjoyed this video. It’s probably one of the most rational and realistic proposals, and I would love to see better rail connections between Atlanta and Macon and also Savannah that would be a huge economic benefit. Also, I think the emphasis should be on a regional Network within the state because too many other HSR projects are reliant on the federal government or other states and then they just hit a wall over funding and regulations. This is a good opportunity for us to make our state better within a few years and if it’s built in an efficient manner could be tied in to true intercity HSR in the future.
If a train could go to Savannah, it should include Macon as well. I miss the Nancy Hanks. I don't want to have to go up the N.E. coast time go back down to get to Savannah.

Thanks for the shout out Mayor Reichert.
I really would like to see this rail project between Atlanta and Macon come to fruition sooner than later.

Fast rail between Macon and Atlanta would be visionary and needed for future growth.

Revenue stream…legalization of marijuana and casinos and use the taxes gained to support high speed rail
