- Here is our scramble of Mt. #JimmySimpson in the Icefields Parkway. *This is NOT THE NORMAL ROUTE TO TAKE!* We still made it however there was much loose rock and we ended up on a loose rock ledge climbers left of the col to access the true summit.
Amazing views once you reach the top though. Likely the best views I have had yet from a summit. Glaciers, lakes and waterfalls are all around you here. Views Of Bow Lake, Bow Falls, Iceberg Lake, Caldron Lake, Peyto Lake and the Wapta Icefield continually draw you in. #thenorthface - Спорт

I wish I'd seen your video before heading for this peak. Well, it was a rainy below 2200m, snowy above that anyway, so next time I should have better luck on either. Cheers
Even just walking to the Falls is amazing if you only go that far. We weren't necessarily lost however we couldn't see far enough ahead of us to know if we could access the Col. It all worked out though.
Ya we got a little off route Adrian however we were still able to reach the summit the way we went. Cheers.
How long would you say this hike took? What time did you guys start? end?
It's likely around 7-8 hours return trip or so. Nearly 15 kms. Beautiful views! One of the best views from a summit I have had. We started around 8 o'clock I think.
Hi Harlan, I'll be visiting Banff at the end of the month. I'm trying to choose between Mt Jimmy Simpson and Bow Peak for one the day hikes. Can you give me some suggestions? Thanks!
Bowen Wang .....Well Bow Peak is on my list but I haven't done it yet. What I can say is that the views on Jimmy Simpson are likely second to none on that summit. So many glaciers lakes waterfalls and massive peaks. You cant beat it!

beautiful summit Harlan! How difficult was this one compared to mount Rundle ⛰
It is likely a little easier for sure. Rundle (West End) is a lot more elevation gain. If it's East End of Rundle (EEOR) Jimmy Simpson has a bit more elevation gain and a little more route finding.
