Hi, these are really great instructions 👍🏼😊 thank you❤ I have some questions about modifications for different body shapes. For example if I have enough width over the chest but the sleeve opening wouldn't be big enough. What to do so the garment still fits well? And vice versa. So if I stop at my armpit and then calculate how many stitches I will need from that point to how wide I actually want the body, meaning the difference between the two, then I could add chains at the armpit to make up the difference, correct? And if that is correct is there kind of a guideline as to how many chains that you would actually want to add. Say for instance, the difference is quite large. Is there anything that says how many chains are too much?
What I Would do is when connecting at the armpit, chain up 3 to 5 chains and then connect to create the armholes. Then try it on. Your arms should feel comfortable. You want to be able to move around without it feeling tight. If it feels tight, then undo that row and add a few more chains at the join of each armpit and then try on again. Repeat the process until you get a fit that feels good. Once you get the right fit then you would proceed to crocheting the rest of the body. Hope that makes sense?
Hi Julia, You could approach it either way but I like to add it to the chest measurement so that the neck opening stays a little bit snug. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions!:)

Hello, really great info! What about the increases at the corners of the yoke? How many stiches (1 or 2), how many chains between those stiches (1,2,or 3)? Does it matter?. Maybe you have an opinion about it. Thanks!
Viviana! Hi! Great questions! I usually start off by doing increases with a stitch, chain 1 and stitch but then I will look at the work as I go. If I find it's bunching, it's because there aren't enough sts so It will need 2 sts, chain 1 and 2 sts. I rarely use 2 chains as that would create a bit of a larger gap in the fabric - unless I am crocheting something lacey than that would be okay. Hope that all makes sense! Great question! I think any straight forward stitch would work. So many lovely stitches to choose from. The main thing is to keep the stitch count consistent from here on out. Let me know if you have a particular one in mind that you are wondering about. Good luck!
Hi Michelle! There is a standard sizing chart you can reference which I am linking here but it also depends on how much give you would like your armholes to have for ease of movement. Check out this chart and if you still have any questions, please do let me know. You should be able to find the average armhole depth for this chest measurement which is approx 7.5 - 8.5 inches. hi thank you so much, I have been tasked to make a crochet no sew tutu for an 11-12 year old and getting measurements right has been a nightmare, the only question I have which my seem silly is how many chains from hook am I starting with and do I add any???
Oh this is wonderful to hear that this tutorial will help you in your tutu project. Now how many chains from the hook will depend on the stitch you plan to use to make the tutu. If you are using SC stitches then the 2nd chain from the hook will do. If you are using DC, then the four ch from the hook will do. Hope that makes sense!
Hi MarJean! You can find that chart in the Pretty in Puffs cardigan pattern here: tinyurl.com/Pretty-in-Puffs-Cardigan That chart refers specifically to that cardigan and just gives you the number of stitches based on your increase for each round. If you check out the video tutorial, I go over how to adjust your chains to create the size you need. You can find that here: ua-cam.com/video/52dOMy7K66I/v-deo.html Please do let me know if you have more questions. I am happy to help:) -Karen
I am following and I am doing a swatch now. I crocheted a chain the length of the 9 cm and I did not come up with 20 chains I came up with 15 instead. I used a 4 ply yarn and a 3.5 crocheted hook.
Hi Arike! That may very well happen depending on your yarn weight and if you crochet a little looser. For you 15 chains is your magic number. So you would continue following the same principles of creating your yoke. Hope that makes sense:)
lam looking for the pattern of the dress that looked somewhat like the mile a min pattern you showed in the first part of your squad neck tutoria l whent on yor site with no luck. Can you please tell me where to find it.l
Hi Janet, I'm not quite sure which project you mean. I've never crocheted a dress. Might you be talking about the Beach Kimono Cover up I did last year?
Hi there! you can either measure the back of a shirt that fits you or you can take a tape measue and measure the back of your neck from one side to the other and add a half inch or 1 cm extra on each side for some ease. Hope that helps!
Up to how many years old People this chart is helpful. We want for collage students and above 3o to 6o years old or above that S m l x l x xl Size. So that we can knit Confidently. Thank you very much.

Hi Immaculate! I'd be happy to help. Can you let me know what exactly you don't understand about the neck measurements? If the person you are making it for is not around, you can reference these handy sizing charts on the Crochet Crafty website which can give you a general idea of the measurements you want to use to create your starting chain. Can I use any type of stitch or is this yoke only for Double crochet stitch US term or treble English term???
Hi there! You can use any of your basic stitches like half double and single crochet as well.👍 It's in US terms.
Hi I want to start a 6 to 12 months jersy, Could you please assist me assist with the specific guide for a Cardican or sweater

Hi there! Try this link which is our Tools page on the website : www.crochetcrafty.com/bonus-tools.html
If that doesn't work, try this specific link to the children's sizing chart: www.crochetcrafty.com/pdf/crochet-toddlers-garment-sizing-chart.pdf
@@TheStitchSessions thanks so much!😁👍
hi thank you so much, I have been tasked to make a crochet no sew tutu for an 11-12 year old and getting measurements right has been a nightmare, the only question I have which my seem silly is how many chains from hook am I starting with and do I add any???
Oh this is wonderful to hear that this tutorial will help you in your tutu project. Now how many chains from the hook will depend on the stitch you plan to use to make the tutu. If you are using SC stitches then the 2nd chain from the hook will do. If you are using DC, then the four ch from the hook will do. Hope that makes sense!
By any chance would I be interested in making a top down sweater with a pointed hemline
That sounds like an interesting project to add to my list! Stay tuned;)
How do u know how many chains needed for armhole

On your thumb nail there is a yoke chart. Where can I find it?
Hi MarJean! You can find that chart in the Pretty in Puffs cardigan pattern here: tinyurl.com/Pretty-in-Puffs-Cardigan
That chart refers specifically to that cardigan and just gives you the number of stitches based on your increase for each round. If you check out the video tutorial, I go over how to adjust your chains to create the size you need. You can find that here: ua-cam.com/video/52dOMy7K66I/v-deo.html
Please do let me know if you have more questions. I am happy to help:)

Nice video thanks good information
My pleasure. thanks for stopping in to say hello:)
@@TheStitchSessions thanks so much. I was using a worsted 4 ply weight yarn with G size hook.
@@BlessedChild41 Ok great! Continue with your project and let's see how you make out. keep me posted!:)

lam looking for the pattern of the dress that looked somewhat like the mile a min pattern you showed in the first part of your squad neck tutoria l whent on yor site with no luck. Can you please tell me where to find it.l
Hi Janet, I'm not quite sure which project you mean. I've never crocheted a dress. Might you be talking about the Beach Kimono Cover up I did last year?
How should we take the
Measurement of the back of neck?
Hi there! you can either measure the back of a shirt that fits you or you can take a tape measue and measure the back of your neck from one side to the other and add a half inch or 1 cm extra on each side for some ease. Hope that helps!
Up to how many years old

Is it the same method for smaller baby size
Hi Jane! yes it would be the same method. for baby sizes as well. I actually will have a baby cardigan tutorial coming out in a couple of weeks where you can see this put into action. Stay tuned!;)
Good day ma'am, a quick one, I don't understand the neck measurements and also what do you do when the person is not around and where there is no cloth of theirs to take the measurements
Just click this link below www.crochetcrafty.com/bonus-tools.html
Yes correct.
Could this work for knitting too?
Hi Acire! the basic principle should indeed work the same. Just check your gauge when creating your starting cast on.
Also, is chest the same as bust?
Oh yes. "Chest" would be same as "bust".
I want the body to be a swing shape (trapeze). How would I get that?
Hi Patricia! I will have a closer look and message you back very soon!
So great you are
How lovely of you to say! Glad you enjoyed this video:)
Hello, I want to do it for 13 years old, how to measure the neck width?
Hi Sumaia, If you follow this sizing chart then you will know how many chains you'll need to get started. www.crochetcrafty.com/pdf/Kids-Crochet-Garment-Sizing.pdf
Enjoy!
Do you have pattern for adult??????
Hi there, this tutorial helps you create this with your own measurements. You can also reference this adult sizing chart to help you out. www.crochetcrafty.com/pdf/Womens-Measurements-Sizing-Chart.pdf. Hope this helps!
Japanese people use one of the two sides of the raglan sleeves to fix their unique buttons😃instead of an extra central opening on the nape with extra calculations😕why don't we do the same😃it's logic🧠👍
Hmm. Could you explain this in further detail. I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean.
Hello , may I know where to get the size chart ?
Hi Liezel, you can find size charts here: www.crochetcrafty.com/bonus-tools.html

Hi Cassandra, if you mean for the corners, yes that is correct. Hope your project is coming along nicely:)
In the Toddlers crochet garment sizing chart ,you use 2T, 3T.... What does these mean? Please break it down for me in months like 0-3 months,3-6 months.....
Hi Doreen, These are Toddler sizes. For example 2T means for a 2 year old and 3T means for a 3 year old etc. Anything under 2T would be baby sizes. That is a separate sizing chart and actually I am working on one now, so stay tuned! I will keep you posted as soon as I finish it:)
Thank you so much I really appreciate this information. It really helps me alot because I have been gambling with measurements and it is really tiresome to gamble every time. I am waiting for that of babies because I make baby clothes mostly. Thanks
@@doreennabulime7529 ok. good to know. so you are not waiting for one particular size? Just general baby size charts, right?
@@TheStitchSessions yes I'm waiting for the general chart because I make different sizes from new born to adult attires but I have been gambling with measurements and it is not professional so these charts really help me alot
@@doreennabulime7529 Hi Doreen! I have completed the chart on my website for the baby sizing. You can find it here: www.crochetcrafty.com/pdf/Baby-Crochet-Garment-Sizing-Chart.pdf

What does T mean?
Hi there! I'm not sure where you saw "T". Is it in the sizing chart? T is for Toddler size. Hope that's what you were asking about.
