As an Art Collector and researcher of 20+ years and with over 200 works of art in my collection, I was relatively unimpressed with this viewer offering of this art ! I am not too excited about and with the contemporary art world and market these days I am hoping there will be a major shift in the market and artist's creations in the future. But to each their own, Art collecting is a very subjective personal activity that collectors want to share with others but when money status and name notoriety come into play the artist's creations may end up and tend to be degraded as so many artworks are today utterly rubbish.

Agreed! If art can hang in a hotel lobby and sucked in by the environment, its not exiting. Those art works apply to this rule.

Some of the most exciting stuff is happening in the digital / NFT space. No body is paying attention because of the bad reputation NFT's have. 95% of the so called art is simply crap, but in the remaining 5% the most exciting stuff in years is happening now. I would compare it with the advent of modernist art at the turn of 20th century or the 60's with the emergence of minimalism, conceptual, land art etc.
Keep an eye on Shl0ms, James Bloom for example. Imo Shl0ms is the most important living artist today. The same way modern painters started to explore the meaning and role of painting and a painter 120 years ago by switching their interest from representing the outside world to what it means to paint. Shl0ms is doing similar things in the digital space. Truly fascinating especially since no one from the traditional art scene is paying any attention to it.

I definitely agree. However CAI will continue to glorify many more talentless artists and invent false substance and essence within the work. Give CAI a used kleenex and they will define the mess as " the inbalance of society in an urban era. Masterfully rendered and brilliantly executed mucous art !! "

I have to be honest; I never understood abstract art, likely because it was never a part of my classical education. I am, however, highly interested in ex/impressionism and symbolism in figurative art. I am particularly intrigued by Kar's work (due to my love of the macabre, no doubt) as well as Asker, Demunter and Proux. I look forward to hearing more about them and their work.

Thanks for this. I've always loved art, now at age 66, I am only two years into making my own. I'm ravenous to see more art, especially contemorary artists. Of this group Frederic Anderson is the one who speaks to me. I like how he starts with imperfect canvasses. When I started I used lots of ink and water on sketchbooks that couldn't fully handle it. My next painting started from the bleed through of the previous one. Now I'm using sturdier materials but still on the lookout for the acidental or synergistic connections between works. Love his mark making. I will definitely be following Frederic Anderson. Thanks for this chanel.

As an artist I am concentrating on social issues and artivism, with topics such as global warming, economic injustice, Paris UN agreement and neurodegenerative diseases with an art project uniting neuro scientific research with art.
I receive a lot of public praise for my approach to art. The message can be appreciated by most, being that’s my choice rather then the aesthetic which is so individualistic.
Selling and galleries is more difficult, but I can support myself and for that reason I will keep going on this controversial path. I have the privilege of affording this choice.

Great artist all! I see in your choices the CAI path/program as described in your video’s. Being unique and descriptive of current events; personal, social-economic, political. Crafting a niche that disrobes oneself from commonality. That others know to whom the work belongs. All these artist have this. For some there are esthetic references to the past but placed in present contemporary language. The dialect well framed in thinking of the day. I think there will always be this referencing. The appropriation of themes that go unnoticed so indelible they are to our consciousness. We take from before and create after but in truth we filter everything through the 20th century. My god what and era that was!

@@frankreynolds3851 I don't know because it doesn't look like anything that's been done, many bodies of work. Simple too, nothing that looks like merchandise or a gimmick. Just acrylic on canvas, wood or paper. I've invented 3 elements that will change the future and past modern and post modern art. It's all in storage. I'm going through a legal action right now, when that's done I'll show what I've been keeping a secret for 15 years. NYC or Miami. I used to show 20 years ago but I stopped because this new work, 100s of pieces and an infinite number to come. I don't stare at a blank canvas and wonder what to do, I typically work on 10 pieces at a time. I don't know? Trying to explain this is like trying to explain a song you've never heard. It'll be out there in the next 24 months. Some bodies of work, the style can be used by other artists adding their own subject matter. Other bodies of work are to unique to do that.

@@frankreynolds3851 I don't. These ideas are fresh and I want to keep them secret. I'm sorry if I've made this confusing. I'm subbed to over 100 art sites and comb Google for years just to see if anyone at expos or galleries or anywhere is doing anything I've done. I'm stuck in this legal action and once I'm free from that I can get this done, I'm very frustrated about not being able to move forward. I guess one thing I can say is that I've reinvented abstract expressionism, I guess that's the closest I can get to one style/body of work I have. I work in all subject matter though depending on the body of work. I can sit in a chair with my eyes closed and think of endless paintings and sculptures, this started when I was 12 years old some sort of channel where I instantly saw everything differently. I know it's weird but I like it. It's also extremely frustrating because I can't get it all done.

The selected artists are in my opinion utmost interesting and relevant, and most of them were exhibiting at smaller galleries in 2022 or 2021. They don't have to be at all. When assembling this list, I never tried to tick any boxes. We have 4 male artists, 4 female artists. 2 North-African artists, 1 American artist of Asian origin, and 5 European artists-which isn't strange considering I am based in Europe and I have seen predominantly European artists in the flesh. But you're right; there are no artists of African descent besides the two North African artists. Perhaps an indirect cause for this is that I personally don't like art that focuses purely on the political, and the people of color are always expected to make political work-or at least the ones that do are the ones that become pretty successful and visible. Food for thought! Thank you for tuning in

Contexto, artista e arte *. Enfim apenas uma sugestão! ❤

So only the art you like is real art and everything else and everyone else is wrong? Art is a feast and there is plenty out there for everyone. Focus on what you like the most without decrying others. Thank you for tuning in!

Too much art speak. The artist from his home city got way too much analysis for middling art. Abstract art needs too much explanation, ruins the joy of art.

We talk a lot about on this channel, so there was always going to be a lot of 'art speak.' However, I don't think these artists need it-on the contrary. Perhaps the video is as interesting, or maybe even more, when playing it on mute if you don't like art speak. Concerning abstract art, I must say I disagree, it doesn't need any explanation at all as it so has direct. Nevertheless, thank you for tuning in!

None of them my taste, but I find the Belgian and French figurative painters interesting despite me not being into figurative painting. The artist with the gestural marks I find it lovely, but I like his smaller paintings, not his huge ones. I don't think the metrics in the art market help me appreciate a work more, because art appreciation is both objective and subjective. Murillo might be at the top of the game, for example, but I find his paintings anything but good and his discourse vacuous and pretentious. There is a Spanish artist that lives and works in Switzerland, Almudena Pintado, that I love, but perhaps isn't that known? Or too conventional? Or too minimal? Or not good enough? Just love looking at her work. The same, but very different style, I also love the Japanese Takahiko Hayashi for his relentless work and experimentation, and you can recognise his work at a distance. None of them emerging, I think, as they have an age. I always appreciate your insights into the art world. Always looking forward to your videos. Wishing you a happy 2024.

Hi there, thank you for tuning in and for sharing your honest thoughts here-they are most welcome! Two interesting lesser-known artists you mention here, and with the right venue they can also make steps in the art world, the quality is certainly there. The pleasure is all mine, happy 2024 to you too!
