The last time our Jeep Wrangler was challenged by this new Ford Bronco, it broke a steering rack almost instantly on the trail! But now it's back, it's fixed, and it wants to see if it can finally follow our Jeep through the off road trail known as the Maze! Will it rock crawl? Or will it break again?
Hope you all enjoy the video!

That Bronco was impressive! One thing you got to remember is even though those rigs are comparable, Kevin and Brittany have had a lot longer to iron out the kinks and learn their rig. To even keep up with them on such a new platform is worthy of at least a tie in my book!

They have another video where some one brings a lifted and bigger tire bronco (he's with ford racing I think) and they remind us. The Step Child, prob has well over 100K of upgrades in it, it's not your typical every day driver, it's built to rock crawl.

For the minor mods that are done to the bronco so far, it is amazing. Ford could easily beef up the steering rack to a heavy duty setup, more travel from the front suspension and the new bronco would be just fine with heavily modded jeeps. Stock for stock the bronco has shocked many.

The Bronco actually did Great! However, He needs to switch Tires, to the same ones you all are running. Once done, I think he’d get along just as good as the rest of the Team did. Tires are Everything in this application.

The one and only part that the tires worked well was the giant crack. They were so wide and the side knobs so pronounced, that it really worked well for him. Everywhere else, they struggled.

Yes tires are vehicle specific , conditions are tire specific , possibly a different tire choice would stop the hopping , Those Large M/T's may need a high pressure contact patch (heavier rig) or beadlock them and run at 5 psi. Practice makes perfect Tyler did good.

A better test between a Bronco and the Stepchild will be when you get your own Bronco. It will have similar tires and same driver. The Bronco in this test had knobby tires and looked like it had some traction issues compared with the Stepchild.

Officially official; "IFS can't crawl" is dead.
Mildly modified(still stock lower arms even) production IFS doing some serious trails, and, frankly, not even working that hard. I4 w/ man pedal trans at that, and, while those tires are hardly as 'bad' as the comments seem to think, they are more general purpose MTs than some of the more specialized crawling tires that benefit in the unique slick rock. What more is there to say? More slick rock-oriented tires and an auto trans(maybe even a little more shock valving optimization to try to quell potential wheel hop), and a Bronco built like this is going to make this stuff look pretty easy(...relatively speaking...).
The Bronco, Wrangler, Raptor, TRX, base V8 pony cars with more than 450HP, mid-engine Vette, aftermarket stand alone ECUs like Holley making late model engine swaps much easier and more affordable... it's a pretty damn good time to be a gear head!

The Bronco is never going to be as good at that kind of off roading as the Wrangler, but for 99% of people it is probably the better choice of vehicle as an all around driver. I commend the Bronco owner for the build and his willingness to push the limits of his rig.
