Charles is a good interviewer.
Obviously he’s a fan of Thomas and researched, extensively. The questions weren’t bland, stock questions…..a clueless person reads from a card. Nor was Charles behaving as an over-zealous “fan”, with nothing creative to offer. This was concise and relevant.
Great interview!! 👍🏾
Thomas was also had great answers that elaborated wonderfully.
How do you think someone is supposed to try to not act like an overzealous fan if they're a major fan of them? If they're a major fan of them, then surely they'd have to act like that with them to some degree, don't you think?
I know, I loved the questions!

This man needs an Emmy for his performance this season. Flat out amazing. He was beyond fantastic.
I agree 100000000000%
I loved him, but my wife thinks his acting is terrible! 😂
Brought Silver back to life. Movie history best villain
100% I was so excited for this character to return
@Paul he did say he was hopped up on cocaine, so that’s my reasoning for his character change 😅
His portrayal of Terry Silver is exactly as he portrayed him 35 years ago. A very underrated actor. His performance is brilliant
At first I thought he wasn't doing a great job reprising the role. I didn't see the Terry Silver of KK3.
But then came the fight with "pretty boy" Johnny, and WOOO!!!!
Not exactly… a lot better!!!
You gotta remember terry wasn’t using drugs in season 4 like he was in karate kid 3 so of course he was gonna be somewhat different. That’s probably why Thomas didn’t make terry look like a lunatic in season 4. He made him look calm and evil
Cobra Kai has been getting robbed by Ted lasso the last few years
Thomas Ian Griffith has aged beautifully honestly.
Ralph Macchio is older than him.
@@sumanadasawijayapala5372 I know but this is about Thomas
@photag216 Nope, you can check it for yourself.
@@sumanadasawijayapala5372
Wow, Macchio looks ten years younger than him, at least!
@@adokapo
This guy looked older than Macchio 35 years ago as well :)
This has been a dream come true to get Thomas Ian Griffith back into the Miyagi-verse! Most fans don’t like to admit that Terry Silver is the whole reason that the Karate Kid 3 even worked. I’m glad Jon, Josh and Hayden were able to convince him to come back.
I never known terry silver was a billionaire
Millionaire or Billionaire, we learned from Karate Kid 3 that he’s very wealthy. Based on one of the Season 4 clips where Kreese visits him he is still doing pretty well in life.
" Most fans don’t like to admit that Terry Silver is the whole reason that the Karate Kid 3 even worked" Some people have a hard time acknowledging hard clear facts LOL. Terry Silver will also be the reason the 4th season will be the best of the series. And I'm gonna say something else too. Terry Silver is what he is because of the actor who played him, Thomas Ian Griffith. If any other actor had played him, he would not be what he is. Thomas Ian Griffith made that character.
Unfortunately a lot of people particularly the younger generation watching cobra Kai haven’t seen the movies in full. Each to their own but I think it’s a bad move.
Terry Silver was one of the best characters in the entire trilogy!
If there is such thing as a "beautiful" man, Thomas Ian Griffith is him. He seems to have such depth to his soul. A true artist.
Can we all take a moment to appreciate how good he looks?! His skin is divine!
I agree!
I NOTICED THIS TOO. WOW. He's taking great care of himself.
Thomas seems like a lovely man. So often happens where the villians are the nicest people in real life. Can't wait for the return of Terry Silver!
And so does martin kove as kreese , nice guy in real life , kinda rare to smile in his old age but he is so inspiring and cool
Not much info on Karate. I assume he's a black belt in some Korean discipline
Admiral Tarkin from star wars played by peter Cushing, was one of the nicest actors in films, someone once said its better to play the villian.
@@lexlovefistwwe9927 I met Martin Kove at ComicCon San Diego a few years ago and he was one of the friendliest and personable guests that were there.
@@makeitsonumberone1358 haha so true they said being villain you are free 2 do any fucking thing you want no restraint maybe thats why they stay cool AF🤭😄😆🤠
Take note Disney, Paramount, Universal, Fox, MGM, Apple, Amazon, HBO. This is how to honor characters, respect fans, make a hit, and reap the rewards.
This man absolutely stole the show, what a great villain. I can't wait to see more of him.
He absolutely stole the show
When he smiles he looks deceptively young. Still a very handsome gentleman and very talented to boot.
Terry Silver was one of the scariest characters for me. Seeing him again brings back so many memories and his growth and then his regression into the old Terry, is truly awful in a most wonderful way. Bravo.
I agree. Any smile from this interviewer scares me!
Flashbacks to 1989 is messing with me head
I got a big ol' smile on my face when I heard him say "danny boy" again since KK3.
I love this guy! Truly is a great actor!
Yeah the way he can switch personality nice one moment manipulative cunning evil sly the next
@@chloeeng6811 Yeah it's really something how he does that, that's a very talented actor that could be able to switch personalities like that.
He plays Rock Hudson in the biopic.
@@flightofthebumblebee9529 He can play him but he’s Terry Silver ,you don’t play Terry Silver 👊
@@chloeeng6811 exactly he is so convincing I thought he had the right mindset the whole season
I felt like I was robbed by Hollywood for hiding Thomas Ian Griffith. Hes a very charismatic actor he couldve played bigger roles in movies and franchises
He absolutely knocked it out of the park in season 4. His character was well written which gave him a lot to work with. They managed to take the over the top cartoon villain from Karate Kid III and flesh it out into a more three dimensional character and even explain why he was like that back then in a way that was believable. The best part was that when they had him slide back into his character at his worst it made sense, we got to see how Kreese brought that out of him. But also we get to see that even without the cocaine abuse he can still be like that, the coke just made him go completely over the top but with a clearer mind he’s more calculating and more dangerous than before.
did part 3 show him doing coke? i never noticed
@@JSmoothSoul no it was never explicitly shown in part three
@@unstoppableExodia where is this coming from then? i'm hearing this over and over
@@JSmoothSoul it boils down to him behaving a lot like a typical 80s coke fiend villain in part three and then it got made canon when he said he was hopped up on cocaine at that time in season 4. To me it makes sense given that he had the necessary disposable cash to support a cocaine habit and he was behaving like a maniac tormenting Daniel-san over a kid’s karate tournament
@@JSmoothSoul He mentioned it in the scene where Kreese meets him at his house, after his party was over. I believe it was episode 1 of the season.
Incredible charisma! Even in an interview he seems like a great guy.
All this time and he hasn't lost a step. Great actor, great character
if only that were true, we would have seen a REAL Sick season if karate kid 3 Terry came back to that season in them fight scene. I Promise you
Only thing we missing is his villainous laugh😂
Still waiting for the maniacal laugh..guess there's season 5 to see that
@Paul for one it’s over 30 years it’s called growth lol plus he’s old as hell now. But he’s conflicted the whole season about who he is who he was and who he wants to be. He even has a line that explains why he’s not the same as kk3 “I was so hopped up on cocaine and revenge” the man saw clarity it’s as simple as that. I think it was great especially come the end when you realise as the person who originally started the thread he hasn’t lost a step.
His shedding the weakness scene was amazing dude is mad calculated 😂 “there it is I can always count on you to play the guilt card” hats off to you sir I didn’t really see it coming thought terry lost his way a little
Dude for real...i knew something big was brewing but WOW! Talk about blindsiding everyone with a great plot twist that sets up everyone even worse and is gonna have Kreese's return be even crazier. All of this drama is 100% because of Thomas legit pumping a much needed level of fun into all of this crazy drama for a second time 30 years later...dude was born to be Terry Silver and just... Wow
Haven't been stoked for a new season like this in a long time. Kreese was growing on me.
He has tremendous presence as an actor. Underrated. Killin it in Season 4 too. Respect
His character in season 4 was amazing seeing he became quite docile to slowly turning back to who he was and he is even worst than he was.
Even more violent and brutal that even before.
Not only bat shit crazy, but crazy rich too this time. He'll seem untouchable for a while.
He was dumping toxic and nuclear waste in third world countries ... Terry is as rich as he was back then ... the only difference is he has tasted defeat from Miyagi and Daniel in the past ... which makes him more dangerous now ... he won't let that happen again.
Thomas looks so great!!!! One of the most underrated actors ever
Seriously. So good at being a bad guy and selling. His reprised role as Silver in Cobra Kai is astounding too.
Check him out in the Rock Hudson Story on UA-cam he did a wonderful job in that. Really is a good actor.
He's talented. I just think he need more opportunities, to showcase what he can do. I'm glad he's doing Cobra Kai.
TERRANCE OUT
Men age like fine wine!
He looks and sounds younger than he did in the series. I wonder if they were trying to make him seem older than he really is.
Terry Silver is the man that every average man dreams to be, a good looking guy who is a millionaire and also a great fighter.
So I got my dad into Cobra Kai back when it came out. For Season 4 he had not seen Karate Kid 3 yet so we watched it before the season 4 premiere. Me and him we smiling like children everytime Terry was on screen for season 4. Cobra Kai added a lot of depth to an already great villian.
I love his cheeky smile
He's cool af. Just shows you how good of an actor he is to be able to turn his charm off and on like that. Love it
Thomas is awesome....cannot wait to see him reprise his role of Terry Silver.
Watched the entire season 4 of Cobra Kai yesterday, and Silver's return is one of the best parts 👌
Agreed and the character development is tops this season.
@@Dalamartm his final scene with Kreese was simply fenomenal, and his triumphant dance holding a champagne glass with some classical music in the background, an instant meme 😎👌
I'll go even further and say Silver MAKES Season 4. Without TIG great layered performance and the Silver story, it would just be a repeat of earlier seasons for the most part but TIG injects more layers and intrigue into the character and brings new dimensions to the story to keep it feeling fresh.
So is it coming? Mike Barnes is Tori’s dad? He makes a return? Thoughts?
@@erikrios2084 Well Season 5 has officially wrapped shooting, so yeah it's coming at some point.
IDK about Mike Barnes, but what I will say is that I really want Snake from KK3 to show up and fight Stingray. Now that's a match to end all matches 😂
Man Charles didn’t blink at all. Man he was so excited to meet him you could even tell on the face.
Terry silver is the absolute King , he is the best character of the entire franchise, great interview
I share the same birthday as Thomas Ian Griffith. Great actor and seems to be a really good man...
Since season one I was hoping they'd bring Terry Silver back. Thomas played that character perfectly. He just had this hint of evil in his eyes that slowly builds during Karate Kid 3. And got to admit, as a self defense instructor, the "Quicksilver Method" is actually 100% effective as a philosophy .
It's great to see Thomas Ian Griffith reprise his role as Terry Silver in Season 4. He has always been an awesome actor!
So great to have him back. Can't wait. Mr. Griffith played the original role so...well crazy and unpredictable. I remember watching the original Karate Kid III and thinking this character is spun :) Amazing actor to pull that off.
He was pretty good in 90's with Martial Arts films
This man is back on cobra Kai season 4 better than ever!
I almost teared up watching terry silver. He was my favorite villain from the karate kid franchise and they couldn't have done a better job with the character he was everything and more than i could've hoped for
What an absolute gent. He's such a nice wholesome person, and so passionate and knowledgeable about film / cinema.
The only problem for me with Cobra Kai is that I wait and wait (as we all do) and then I binge watch the season in one day (... as we all do?).
And yes, he was fantastic 👏.
They need more episodes per season, at 30 mins a pop it’s a waste that they only do 10 episodes.
Thomas, thank you so much for returning. I can't wait to see your performance as Terry Silver once again.
As with all of the older cast, TIG is looking great. Every scene he had in S4 I was smiling, he plays the villain so well. Great job to all the cast, crew and writers of Cobra Kai, yet again you have completely smashed it👊🐍
Since the end of season 1 of Cobra Kai, I desperately hoped they would eventually bring back Thomas Ian Griffith as Terry Silver. Not only were my prayers answered but Griffith did not disappoint!! Its great to see him back
The creators of Cobra Kai are Hardcore Karate Kid Fans.. and the way they have recreated the Miyagiverse is a pure joy! I am so happy that these 3 gentlemen managed to get the original actors from the 80s to reprise their characters from Karate Kid... boy am I a happy man :)
Thomas seems like he's a really down to earth person. Of course I don't know him personally, but he does seem humble. I wish more entertainers were like him.
Thomas Ian Griffith (Terry Silver) my favorite actor and character from The Karate Kid franchise, love his movies.
We waited for Terry Silver for 3 seasons now. So glad Thomas Ian Griffith took the part again. 💕👊🥋
Terry Silver is the most exciting thing to happen on Cobra Kai since the introduction of Johnny and Daniel. Kreese was a tough bully but Silver is a criminal mastermind.
He seems like such a well-spoken, intelligent and excited performer and someone you could listen to all day long. Still, that sinister smile makes him such a compelling villian on screen. He reminds me of an evil Val Kilmer.
Wow... Well put! Evil Val Killer! LOL
Reminds me of Jeff Goldblum
That smile is what ties him in so well with Kenny. I think he sees Kenny's smile and connects with him in a deep way.
I've noticed a lot of the actors who are best known for playing villains are usually the nicest people in real life
Interesting that ALL the actors have stayed in such great shape even when they didn't know this show would exist
Just watched season 4, you were great in it Thomas, can't wait to see what you do in season 5!
This guy and Martin look and act so scary evil In karate kid and cobra Kai but they are so nice in irl 😊
Its called acting sis
@@ninjapirate123 sign it!
There's a scene where Kreese brings up Silver's Vietnam past in order to manipulate him, it was heart breaking, the way his PTSD started to show was something else.
Thomas deserves an award just for that one scene alone.
POSSIBLE SPOILERS Yeah, be interesting if he ever goes to the "cage" (prison) again. I'm sure his money and influence has kept him out so far. Hmmm.
He is such a nice guy
Terry Silver to the karate kid as the emperor is to Star wars.
This guy was the only good thing to come out of any of the Karate Kid sequels.
Great actor. He steals every scene he's in. Has such a great presence.

A man can't stand he can't fight!
I love his tremendous personality and you can feel what a positive energy he exudes. These are the type of people I surround myself with. Respect to his performance in the series but older people like this are what young people should try to emulate. Kindness, humility and love.
That what makes his character work: His energy. All Thomas had to do was reverse it....from positive energy to negative energy (in the sense that he's taking his students into a dark path).....and we get Terry Silver.
Thomas is amazing. So excited for season 4!
He’s one hell of a great actor. He really knocked it out of the park. Great addition!
I like how it was realistic how they got back together. It made sense that Terry didn't want to at first
He is amazing in this role! He was so despicable and unhinged in this character. Yet there are moments where we feel sympathy for him in the beginning when he opens up about his addictions and anger management issues.
Dude literally stole the whole season. Awesome acting. The villain you love to hate
He is just so damn likeable in real life and interviews. I love that the writers have given Terry Silver nuances in this show and you get to see his own struggle and process. This journey is definitely one I am going to thoroughly enjoy watching.
He was one of the most awesome movie villians next to Chozen. Silver has a more psychological approach which is 10x more dangerous than physical.
The man just answered all my questions about why that character is so awesome. Thanks. What a talent.
This interview shows just how insightful Griffith is.
Hoped to God that bringing Ian Thomas Griffith in would be a good move. I haven’t been disappointed. Only 7 episodes in, but he’s been a revelation. Absolutely loving it!
Everybody on that show looks younger than their age. I think Ralph Macchio is drinking from waters of Lake Minnetonka and sharing the beverage with the cast.
Yeah he’s older than Johnny
Youre the best Thomas! Greetings from Valencia!
Hands down thee greatest villain in the Karate Kid series. I hope he stays until the series finale. I would love to see final tournament battle where Kreese, Terry Silver & Mike Barnes lead team Cobra Kai & Johnny, Daniel & Julie Pierce lead team Miyagi Do/Eagle Fang.
I agree. He was very intense, even more so than Chozen in my opinion.
I believe Kreese will join Daniel and Johnny
After what silver did to kreese no way is kreese coming back to silver no way no how!

From Terry Silver to Terry Silver Fox.
He's starting to look like Dave Gilmour
Best thing about season 4 he did an amazing job.
I was excited to see Thomas Ian Griffith back. I saw a difference in the character, I saw in my opinion that he actually had been manipulated by Kreese and I can now see that it was not Silver always coming to help Kreese willingly but by guilt, Kreese had been pulling the strings the whole time I think and the issues that Terry Silver had and gone to therapy for I think did some emotional damage to him and with this season I think Kreese has really pushed Silver's over the edge this time. I do wonder though, there is a scene where Terry Silver's apologized to Daniel for everything that happened, was that apology a genuine apology deep down? I do think he did suffer some guilt from his actions from previous events.
Oh,he clearly felt awful about his behaviour,he meant it. He betrayed Kreese cause kreese would never see him as an equal and would never let him live without guilt. Terry saw that Kreese doesnt really live by No mercy and refused to follow a false god.
I think it was a sincere apology. He hasn’t reverted back to old Terry yet. Honestly the beer moment where kreese pulled the guilt card I think is what truly reverted him back, but this time he got rid of his weakness.
After all this time, Terry Silver remains one of my favorite villains in a movie. He really made me believe how sinister a human being can be.
He always reminded me of the main villian from the Crow
Season 4 was INSANE! Omg how long do we have to wait again for 5?
This dude looks so evil in the series
Makes me think he's a bad guy in real life
But that's how good he is of an actor 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼my respects 🏆

its so awesome he returned to acting for cobra kai, karate kid 3 must've held a special place in his heart for helping kickstart his career.
He truly did steal every scene he was in(not to take away anything from the other phenomenal actors and actresses). I was so excited seeing him in this season;his character and the many plot twists exceeded my expectations. I did kind of wish there was more dialogue between him and Johnny or we could have heard Daniel tell Johnny much more about what happened between him and Terry in KK3 though.

@@JSmoothSoul Hey, that’s true!! And watching that scene where Silver tells Kreese that Laurence is in good hands or that he’ll take care of him… wow, that is definitely a preview of what we have to look forward to in Season 5

The writing and acting in Terry Silver's return was extremely smart. In Karate Kid III the character ate up the screen being so over the top, so instead, they toned it all the way down. Perfect lines too in his first episode about how crazy it was for him to go after Daniel. Just really well done.

He absolutely nailed it in season 4 what an amazing actor can't believe I'm saying this but Terry silver is now my favorite character on the show now
The strength of the show is that it rides the line perfectly of its self-awareness of the past movies but elevates the rather gitchy og material into aore serious but not too serious drama...with karate. Terry's character really brings something to this season.
Lmao at the start the interviewer looked so frightened, combined with Terry's iconic smile.
I am totally loving his performance! I am loving Cobra Kai, of course, but the addition of Terry Silver this season is just absolute gold!
