    Its an engineering achievement ! This is not about the money. Its about the effort put to make a non turbo Honda run fast or better, faster than most turbod hondas. But haters gonna hate :) Honda.........The power of dreams !

    Because regardless of what type of slow vehicle it is, cutting 8 seconds off from a stock vehicle 1/4 mile time is pretty impressive. To each of his own.

    born and raised in tulsa, Humble has put in a lot of work to get to this point, I remember people poking fun of a honda at the race track till it ate a V8 or two... I actually worked for BJ's cylinder head shop in tulsa, I think we had a couple of their vtec heads come through back in the day

    A true gear head can appreciate any kind of motor. It's not the brand that matters, its the engineering.

    You know its ashame that people still talk trash on a honda with a naturally aspirated motor running 9's. Front wheel drive at that. It doesnt matter what car you drive. If you love it, built it, and made her better then what it was then awesome. If you cant respect a person for what they choose to love then you're just a punk. Everyone has thier own style of car. Running times like that means that they put their time and effort doing something they care about. Ford, Chevy, Honda, Mazda, Toyota, Acura, Volvo, Bmw, Dodge, Audi, VW, etc, it dosnt matter. If you have a car/truck and love to drive then thats cool. Learn to love you people for who they are and what they like, this whole race bs is old as well. Grow up kids.

      people talk shit about everything they dont own...its called being jealous of what it can do...not everyone wants a cheap car but if you own a lambo you sure as hell dont want to be next to a highly modified 4 cylinder because everyone expects it to loose...but then...

    It took 4piston racing 400+ hp to run low 9's in an insight with traction bars, can only imagine how much power they got out of this thing or their setup is just amazing.. Props, car is quite ridiculous!

    I'm sure it depends on the application, but, often times, a drag-specific car will use the smallest fuel cell possible. They do this to save weight, and also ensures that the pump(s) stay submerged in fuel for proper cooling.
    There are also other reasons for running small fuel cells, for example, this car is running an ITB setup, and the fuel cell is located IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, which means it HAS to be small... also keeps the fuel lines short, which helps keep fuel pressure consistent

      @Salenson 8 років тому

      +Racer isnt that same thing?

    • @racer774
      @racer774 8 років тому +3

      Sasa Goluza - No sir. Nitro is an abbreviation for nitromethane which is a fuel used in Top Fuel dragsters and the like along with a bit of methanol or ethanol. On the other hand, nitrous is the first word commonly used when speaking of nitrous oxide which is laughing gas and it contains approximately 10 times more oxygen per given unit than the air that we breathe at sea level.
      Google nitrous oxide to find out more than I can possibly explain here and click the link below for an interesting explanation of what nitromethane is. www.hotrod.com/how-to/engine/hrdp-1304-what-is-nitromethane-anyway/

    Is more about Knowledge.. here in my country some people are making 8v carbureted Fwd Fiats run in the mid 10s to 11s. on NO grip raceways so I guess if they have the quality of the raceways shown in this vid. (basicle due to the VHT thing) they probably could make 10 flat to mid 9s passes in all most of their attemps; thats basicly because here the N/A engines represent the TRUE challenge (besides the budget issue) to make fast shit and therefore there are as much o even more tuners developing N/A instead of Turbo ones... many can get big figures from FI engines but just a few can do the same in N/A powerplant. Sorry my english sucks i know. That is a truly rocket Honda anyway keep up that work!

    There is actually a 4 cylinder in a funny car that runs mid 5's. Google "Norwood Racing's Max 4 Integra" It makes 4000HP out a relatively large 4 cylinder, basically have a top fuel engine.
    It's body is an Integra so I guess you could sort of say imports finally got into the mid 5's, it just took an American engine to do it.

      I think honda power is trickery. If you were to uses a larger displacement v8 and have it rev as high as that honda it would decimate all. These cars get their power by revving to the moon which doesn't work so well in real life driving scenarios.

      I appreciate you acknowledging my intelligence, however it is of some disagreement to you I'm sure, that I may not be able to return such an honourable favour. My interpretation, as I'm sure many would agree, that "street" means it's/can be driven on the street and not a trailer baby. You can have a car dedicated to drag racing, and drive it on the street. Much like having a girl to ride in bed, but also to ride in the streets. Given the option to change out rubber is so readily available, and the option change many vehicle parameters on the fly, I don't see how calling said vehicle "street" is at all a falsified claim. Your rebuttal?

    • @tiebei2548
      @tiebei2548 10 років тому

      Drag radials. They have no tread and are very low PSI. When the tire starts spinning, they heat up and expand, but they don't last long because they are soft. They are low because that increases grip, pointless for a road car but good for a drag car.

    how do they do this all motor? I remember when the S2000 first came out everyone made a big deal because it put out more than 100 HP per 1000cc. People thought that was some kind of upper limit for naturally aspirated inline 4's. The engines must be really tricked out if they can match one with a lot of boost, or a lot of nitrous.

    maybe it's in a street class at the track but realistically I don't see how you could consider it a STREET car, as in driving it on public roads to and from. Myself and a lot of others out there would consider a street car full interior, retains factory look ie carpet, dash, seats, etc.

    I think in the future if we get our own spot they'll say how puertoricans (like us) made the street filled with hondas because we did start the tuning craze on FWD cars because tuning big v8 muscle cars back in the 80's and 90's was not cost effective, the american cars from back then where bulky and had no HP what so ever I didn't grow on that scene but I love Scharged camaros and stangs and hate the fact that everyone puts civics in godlike status any car 4cil can be made high com or turbo
