- PASIFIC PALISADES, CALOIFORNIA - Matthew Perry, famous for his comedic acting work on the hit television show ``Friends,'' died today in a hot tub at his Pacific Palisades home. He was 54.
TMZ reported that first-responders arrived at the scene on Saturday on
a call regarding a cardiac arrest, and said that the actor apparently might
have drowned. Citing sources, the website said that there were no drugs located at the scene and there was no evidence of foul play.
Perry's cause of death was not immediately known. An investigation was
underway.
Police responded to a call at 4:10 p.m. to a residence in the 18000
block of Blue Sail Drive, just northwest of The Getty Villa, of a death investigation of a male in his 50s, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Drake Madison confirmed to City News Service. (CNS)

It's sad because he was truly open about his battle with depression+anxiety (which led with his addiction issues)... 😢 He said he thought getting famous would help but it didn't. Right on chapter 1 of his memoir he says that *his mind is always trying to kill him when he's alone.* 😢 He published that on November 1 2022,almost a year ago. 😢😢

My wife and I recently started watching Friends starting from episode 1. Over the last few weeks we both agreed that Chandler was our favorite.
I just hope Matthew Perry knew how much joy he brought to people.

I saw someone saying that since there's two wars going on I shouldn't care for someone who literally helped so many people and impacted us. Saying he didn't care about is couldn't be further from the truth, if he didnt he wouldn't have told us his stories on how his drug and porn addictions effected him, and what they could do to us. Im so sick of people judging everyone and acting like they're better. You can drown in a puddle. As long as your nose and mouth are submerged you can drown - no matter the depth. Fainting, falling asleep, hitting head and unconscious and so on accidental or not it does happen 😞 awful. Rip.

By the time you learn what killed the person, the cause of death is irrelevant. You just have your grief to contend with. It's probably best we don't know cause of death immediately because we are forced to deal with the loss itself rather than focus on the what ifs.

Did this really need to be posted here? It's enough to realize that members of the press are vultures. But is there really no respect for members of Matthew's family and friends who might just accidentally stumble on this video here? Wasn't it enough that they had to live through this live once? Even the knowledge of it being posted here, if it should ever reach any one of them, which I hope it does not, would in my opinion be horrendously disrespectful. With all due respect to the memory of Matthew Perry and to his family and friends.
How on earth did these photographers know of his death before his body was respectfully removed from his home ?

Why does drinking have to be involved automatically? He heart was probably weakened because of everything it's been through these past years. I'm willing to bet it was a heart attack that caused his drowning.

In his book Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing, the same thing almost happened to him in 2018. To know the possible results of your behavior and still do it again despite almost dying is certainly an act of suicide.
