thx brother. I don't have it anymore. I sold it, but sadly the next owner totally ruined it...really want to make a version two of it as this was one of my most memorable builds.
Yup. I wanted a wagon when I recently sold my Focus, but the only one under like 40k is the Volkswagen Golf Sportwagen/Alltrack. And that is no bigger than my Focus was. Just about 18 inches more length in the cargo area. Sucks. Over in Europe you can get a Focus ST wagon and even a Fusion wagon (they call them Estates over there). Ended up buying a Ford Escape. The car makers say they make Crossovers and SUV's because that's what Americans want. NO. It's because that's all they will build. I'd take a nice medium size wagon over a crossover or SUV any day if they would build one in America.
Problems you listed were very rare and with over 150,000 miles with the 2.7 V6.. Magnum sales suffered from the economic downturn of 2007-2010,remember.. Challenger took the place of the Magnum as they built the 300/Charger/Magnum/Challenger on the same line !
My 2008 Magnum RT with AWD is now 10 years old and covered over 110,000 miles. (I am retired now). Repairs around 2500 Dollars over this time, car looks like new and still beats any car at any traffic light, leaving them behind so they can listen to the Magnaflow exhausts. We made a deal that I will take care of the car until I pass away, and she will take good care of me until such time. Best car I aver had, and had many!
You have my dream car, I have been a fanboy since 2013 when I owned an SXT AWD 08, I had to get rid of it because insurance was too high for a 22 year old, this year I’ll be 28 and I’ve missed that car since I got rid of it. I will be buying another magnum this summer possibly and fully rebuilding/restoring/undercoating it to undertake Canadian winters but I’ve been really looking for an 08 awd with a hemi... they’re so hard to find :( so my search will continue. I hope that I find one this year!
Saw the Magnum when it first came out. I told myself I'd own one, one day. Bought a 2005 SXT With Plastic Still on Car and Wheels not even unpacked. It was loaded, loaded !!! Leather , original , No Cuts or Discoloration today. Just had everything from MoonRoof to Power Everything. Knock on wood and Thank God, A Wrench Has Never been on my car. Oil, transmission, air and cabin filters changed ... that's it. CAR STILL HAS ORIGINAL SPARK PLUGS AND WIRES !!! Never "dogged" my car, always ran 70mph or less. THIS IS A WONDER CAR. INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR, IMMACULATE. BEST MONEY I EVER SPENT AND SHE STARTS ON FIRST ENGINE TURNOVER. I LOVE MY MAGNUM SXT !!!
The problem was that for some reason Chrysler all but stopped advertising the Magnum after 2005. I remember the commercial where the guy in a Magnum pulls up next to another car at a stop light and the guy looks over and says "what have you got in that?" And the guy in the Magnum goes on to say what he has in the back in the way of cargo. That is the only commercial I remember and I don't remember seeing ANY commercials after 2005. I had a 2006 Magnum SXT (3.5L V6) that I bought in 2006 as a lease return. Had it 4-1/2 years and right up until I bought it occasionally someone would come up to me when I was parked and ask what kind of car it was because they didn't know (about it). The issues I had with my Magnum were all the Mercedes parts. Mainly the Front suspension (must have put about 2k in repairs to the suspension) and a transmission module went out. Had the 5 speed which was the Mercedes transmission. I believe the 4 speed was Dodge. Most expensive car to maintain to date that I've owned. (my 2012 Ford Focus hatchback was the least). Shame though that they didn't keep it. With the suspension and transmission upgrades on the LX's they could have kept it around longer as long as they upgraded the cheap looking interior. I think that was another reason it didn't sell well. The interior was bland and cheap looking for a car in it's price level. The 2005-2007 didn't even have padded armrests and the middle armrest/storage was a hard rubbery material. The 2008 interior (the dash area anyways) looked a bit better. I have to say I cringe when I see a modded SRT-8. It's a special low number made car that is fast becoming a collector car. Modding a collectable car just kills it's future value. I don't know about anyone else, but I like to see the old muscle cars for example as they were original. Not with different rims, jacked up, lowered, or painted some bright day glo color.

I have 2 06 srt8 magnums with less than 60,000 km i would part with one, one is stock, one is custom, if you are looking for 1 or 2 lol, i havent driven them in 2 years due to medical reasons.
On the used market apples to apples another words RT to RT, SXT to SXT charger AND magnum... I see the magnum prices consistently higher than the charger.
I love station wagons. I had a used '94 Taurus which died of terminal rust, then a '92 Volvo 74 5wagon that was a great car for many years until I I gave upon maintaining it. The Magnum was the only remaining choice for another wagon and I'm very pleased with my '05 SXT. Wagons are a clear choice over SUVs and "crossovers" because they have more cargo space, while still maintaining the low frontal area and fuel economy of sedans.
I have a late 05, with 26k miles...!¡ without a scratch on her... I drive once or twice a month, spring and summer sometimes fall. love my ( Maggie ) she is fast and low and one tough Mopar..

@@draines9237 The SRT8 is worth keeping if you have that model. If it came in six speed manual I would have bought one years ago. That 5 speed Mercedes transmission is not my idea of fun but different strokes for different folks, right?
I love my Magnum! I bought a R/T in 2004 brand new off the lot! Owned it till 2014 when someone on cell phone rear ended me, and pushed me into oncoming traffic. I still have it! Bought it back from the insurance company! Got an 05 Awd R/T, didnt like the way it handled compared to the RWD R/T so, I sold it, and got another 05 RWD R/T! Phewwww! Put cold air intake , Loudmouthed SLP exhaust, and a diablo tune, fast and loud!
There are some issues but none of them are jus the Magnum as the 300 and Charger are the same under the skin. The most fundamental problem is the radiators. On the passenger side bottom corner they will spring a pinhole leak and you won’t even know about it till you hear the chime and notice the temp gauge suddenly on HOT. If you drive for any length of time with it that hot the valve seats are sure to drop, which is another notorious issue, but it all starts with the radiator. And it gets worse, but it’s all about the rad. It’s usually a pinhole leak so you most likely won’t see coolant in your driveway and most likely won’t be able to find the leak when it’s shut off. I found it by leaving it running and while having my face very near the radiator I felt a very fine mist that I couldn’t even see. I had smelled some coolant in the AC system the first time too. Yep, I’m on my third radiator, all under my lifetime bu,per ti bumper warranty though but they won’t do preventative fixes so it’s gotta fail first which just costs them more money. While driving around with low coolant level, the water pump hasn’t enough water running through it to cool the bearing and it will fail. Same with the AC compressor and possibly other HVAC parts. Also I think the water in the transmission was from the trans cooling line leaking on the radiator as it right there. I’ve has never done that. My 2006 RT was bought new and I’ve been towing a 2500lb trailer for at least half of its 170,000 miles, and unbelievably I’ve had no trans problems and no major engine issues. The issues noted in this video are a bit misleading.

Also I’ve never had a window regulator fail, the auto shift doesn’t cause it to run hot, and my throttle body has never been touched. Well, as far as I know. The dealership is odd. Sometimes I think they strategically fix things to cover their own asses, but in that note I could write a book about my almost 14 years of experience with this dealership. Since I’ve got the lifetime bumper to bumper I get treated differently than other customers. Intermittent issues? They would be throwing parts at the problem per engine code suggestion with a regular customer, all the while knowing they are just ripping them off, but when I come in for the exact same problem they suddenly ,”can’t repeat the problem”. They once had it for a month and “said” they couldn’t find the problem with it shutting off randomly. I had to drive 90 miles pulling the trailer from a gig late at night and the car shut off maybe 30 times. It took almost 5 hours to go 90 miles. Every time I would have to pull over, turn the key to “off” and then it would restart and run fine like nothing ever happened, until maybe 100yds or 3 miles or 10 miles down the road it would just shut off. Then, with 20 miles left to home, no more problems until I was backing into the driveway. But they couldn’t find the prob. They were full of shit. It got worse. I stood my ground when they said they did a proper alignment after a diff rebuild and it very obviously was not. I did not cuss or make a scene or anything but engaged the service manager with more and more questions about their alignment satisfaction history until he couldn’t take it anymore and asked me to leave. A few weeks later I dropped it off just after closing for AC compressor replacement and they called first thing the next morning and told me I was banned and I was not welcome at that dealership or any Rick Hendrick dealership and to pick up my car immediately. I did so and you could cut the tension with the edge of your hand. I asked for my key and a younger advisor told me to wait and I explained that I was told to come get it immediately and I needed my key that moment. Key was produced within 30 seconds. Emailed headquarters and long story short they had to un-ban me, and when I met with the GM it was the stuff of legend. They fixed my car right after that but the tension is thick and there is no other Chrysler dealership around and it’s just 1 mile away from my house thank you very much. The cars rule. Chrysler and the dealerships will be non-existent by 2022 if they don’t get their shit together. Crooked as the day is long. And I have mountains of proof.
Im going to buy an RT do a manual conversion upgrade all the internals and supercharge it the R/T's are the only ones i can find near me but they are pretty cheap and the 5.7 has alot of aftermarket support its gunna be my family car

I've always been interested in the Dodge Magnum but I've heard from so many different people not to buy and some that said there good so what gives sounds like I should just do a engine transmission swap or what
Are you wanting one? I have 2 one stock, 1 custom, both less them 60,000km, wanting around 25k Canadian each. But I would take a reasonable offer of 15 to 18 k. No rush. They havent been driven in 2 years. And they are awesome, the stock one is hellfire red, there were less then 700 in that color and less than 4 thousand srt8 made in total so they are very rare.
I've owned both a rt Magnum and a Marauder. Motor went out on the Magnum shortly after purchase with 89k miles. But I will say it was much more fun of a car than the Marauder.
Funny you said that. I remember working at a drug store. I just got my white 06 on some 20" chrome wheels. Someone called the owner and said the "dude that drives a white car sells drugs". Had to be some jealous punk. I never sold a dime bag in my life. Probably cuz I went from a lil Kia to that car. LOL

My 07 is the best vehicle I have ever owned
Not offering a manual transmission in the Magnums was a big mistake by Chrysler. Think it would have brought in more buyers.
Im going to buy an RT do a manual conversion upgrade all the internals and supercharge it the R/T's are the only ones i can find near me but they are pretty cheap and the 5.7 has alot of aftermarket support its gunna be my family car
05 magnum rt
Best car I ever own...
we have the chrysler 300 stationwagon in my country, I do have a chrysler 300 sedan , I do like the magnum, it looks mean as I'd love to import one, perhaps one day i will.
love my chargum , 10/10 would recommend
I've always been interested in the Dodge Magnum but I've heard from so many different people not to buy and some that said there good so what gives sounds like I should just do a engine transmission swap or what
I own a 5.7 L V8 Rt Hemi and it's a fucking beast. Buy a magnum.
magnum srt 8 bad ass
Ive got an 05 with 137,000 only issue is a little shaking
Someone's been watching too many Regular Car Reviews
Almost got one of these but couldn't find any in my area hella expensive or all fucked up. Great video man!
Have/Will u done a Trailblazer SS video ? Im torn between a Magnum Srt8 and a Trailblazer Ss
I was really looking at the magnums, until I found an 07 srt8 Jeep Awd for the same price :o
Before you buy: Mercury Marauder 😁
I've owned both a rt Magnum and a Marauder. Motor went out on the Magnum shortly after purchase with 89k miles. But I will say it was much more fun of a car than the Marauder.
We have a 5.7 rt magnum right now but I need the 6.1😢😩
Had two. An '06 & '07 awd rt. The '07 has 24k miles on it. Anyone interested? :)
"Your drug dealer has arrived"
Funny you said that. I remember working at a drug store. I just got my white 06 on some 20" chrome wheels. Someone called the owner and said the "dude that drives a white car sells drugs". Had to be some jealous punk. I never sold a dime bag in my life. Probably cuz I went from a lil Kia to that car. LOL
@@vernonpaigejr.1517 Damn that's some bullshit, funny thing is the only drug dealer I ever knew drove a chevy sonic hatchback.
Cadillac CTS-V wagon came with stick shift beat that magnum oh Mr random sir awsome video sir

Love my Magnum SRT8
I got a 2006. It's the coolest car I've ever owned. I do get labeled as a mafia gangster. It's all black and loud. Peace
I want those wheels on the silver one, I just got a 2006 R/T with 20" wheels that do fit the car, but they're not my style
i have an 08 msrt. i love it.
You Forgot About The Valve Hot-Droppings.
Coolest wagon ever!
Is it funny that my grandma has a 2006 hemi srt8 magnum?
For the European viewers that watch this video, the car is known as the Chrysler 300 Touring SRT8.
The problems irrelevant because it shares the same parts from the Charger and the Challenger so not specific to the magnum
I had more trouble from a 2006 charger 3.5 then a 2005 5.7 R/T Magnum .Just stop heating on the Magnum .It's boss .LOL you can't tell me it ain't fly. 🛫🛫✈
Needed this😁😎☝️
I have the awd rt magnum and love it
It failed cuz gas prices back then were twice the price as today.
