My favourite thing about this song is that Proletius comes forth with his host of deathknights, and begins slaughtering peasants with impunity. Proletius always slaughters peasants, it's what he does. But why are there so many peasants randomly in the middle of an epic battle?! Can Proletius actually do anything other than slaughter peasants?!

And since it's a battle, the adrenaline running through Angus' veins would've prevented him from noticing the wound until after the fight.

Movement III "Return of the Astral Demigod of Unst" is probably my favorite moment in all of media, especially if you listen to all three albums back to back to back. After nearly two and a half hours of music and epic stories, when all seems lost "From the heavens comes a hero, mighty Hootsman. Meaningless latin chanting." The high note on "shoots goblins out of sight" his speech to Zargothrax. The momentum out of the speech. It's an absolutely perfect culmination of the story and the greatest climax definitely of any music, and probably of any media ever.

Angus McFife can never be replaced. The only way to continue the band is to respect Thomas' legacy and continue with a new protagonist, and when they do songs from previous albums to treat it as legends. I cannot see anyone else donning the title of Angus McFife.

The message at the end of the song says there is a Zargothrax clone, and since Angus died, then they probably will use this hook to continue the story.
But the the thing is, since for now we know there are 13 generations of Angus, there are at least 9 generations to fill the slot (we already had Thomas as the First and Last generations, the new singer as 5 in Fly Away and maybe 2 in the upcoming album). Remember, just because they may be the reincarnations of the first Angus, that doesn't mean they had to have the same faces and voices. As long as they respect the legacy (in and out universe) of Thomas and choose someone worthy enough to fill the slot, they can do whatever they see fit to expand the lore and continue the legacy of the Angus bloodline.

Just the story alone is fucking amazing. Such an amazing band. The stories in their albums are killer. Power metal is such a great genre of music. It's one where you can make up anything and make it sound absolutely killer. This band in specific is one if my favorites if not my favorite. Dragonforce has has close second.

I'm 90% sure these guys played a homebrew D&D campaign then turned the events of said campaign into a song/soundtrack and I am all for it.
Aside of the obvious (and expected) cheesiness, this is really one of the best songs I've ever listened to! Full of ideas, great segments and it visualizes a battle of epic proportions, like a tremendous final act of a weird musical :) Simply stunning!
This song is a wild ride from start to finish. My favorite thing about gloryhammer is explaining the story of the songs to my friends when they ask. What's this song about? Oh its about the final fight between angus and zargothrax, sub commander ralathor battles the death knights of crail and launches some nukes then angus goes to fight zargothrax before he gains godlike power, but is to late. Until the hootsman comes from the sky as a god in this universe and helps angus obliterate him and then angus yeets himself into a volcano in the end because he was cut with a knife that makes you go evil
I gotta say, 3:45-4:14 is my favorite part by far, and I wish they did more with it
