  • I take the kayak and go up to Tystströmmen, almost in Högbo.
To reach Tystströmmen I go through two small rapids, streams.

It is a beautiful river and as you say not two trips are the same.

Good tree to go under, always hard to resist 😎 Works nicely with the GoPro angles. Used to use the front and back handle more, should get back to this. I seem to recall a similar fight I had upstream with the river in Gävle 😎 Those rocks are no friend of one's paddle! Fun experience with the fish 😂 That's what I always say as well - every paddle brings something new, even if it's a familiar location.

Thanks, really appreciate you opinion of the GoPro angle. More job but it will be good if you use more angles! Yes, you are more to do rapids than me! Next time I will take the plastic paddle.🙌🤗

I enjoyed following your trip to the rapids, although I was worried you would rip the bottom out of your kayak. I couldn't try that in my NK Exrcze. It looks warm and summery with your t shirt and the mosquitos but I think 17 degrees c is cold! It's been wet and cold this weekend in Sydney. Yesterday my partner did a 10km kayak race in the pouring rain and the temperature only reached 12 degrees C. I stayed home and kept warm with the cats. Your river is very beautiful.

Thanks!😍 I'm also little worried about the kayak but so far, no problem, seems like they are durable. If I had a NK exrcze I would have been worried in the river all the time and never do rapids. More and more I'm thinking of a plastic kayak instead of fiberglass, downside is the weight.
It´s warm for us, love the season with less clothes! How did your partner do in the race?

@@danerik.westerlind Bruce and his friend, Brett, did OK in the race (paddling a double ski). Afterwards, Bruce asked if I want to start racing with him again. I think he feels too slow for Brett, who is 30 years younger than Bruce. Bruce must be desperate if he wants to race with me. I haven't done any racing for a few years and was never very good. I would rather take my time and enjoy being out on the water looking at the birds and scenery.
Those heavy plastic kayaks are indestructible but are incredibly heavy. I guess they are OK once you are on the water. Getting them on and off the car roof racks would be punishing. Have a great week and happy paddling.

@@janets3549 maybe he want to do something with you on the water. I understand you, I´m an enjoying person instead of racing. 🤗
yes, heavy but good for rapids.
Thanks, hope you also will have a great week and maybe some paddling!

Fun video mate, glad you didn't fall in. also love the new cam angle.
You should get yourself a pack raft for having fun on there.
I know you paddle them waters all the time Dan and know them well.
So this bit is for anyone who is thinking about doing a small rapped for the first time always walk the river bank first and have a good look and plan your rote.

Thanks, really appreciate it your feedback on the camera angle. So much quicker edit than 360. So far I have never fall in with x500, stable as a rock. I'm thinking more and more of a durable plastic kayak instead of buying a fiberglass kayak.
Yes, really good you mention this, did not think of mention that, always chk unknown rapids before paddle them!
