I am proud esteem owner, this was my first car. Old generation car was awesome n build like a rock there is no serious work's since i have bought it. One more thing, the car is older than me it's 1996 model. i was treating the car like my elder brother.
In 1995, Mercedes E-class was the most expensive sedan in India and Esteem was the 2nd most, which made many Esteem owners feel like they were just below the Mercedes. Today many of them have upgraded to cars like Hyundai and Kia.
Esteem has unique advantage,in first gear it can go upto 55kmph,2 nd gear 90 plus and third gear 120 plus at that time 100kmph feel like supersonic speed Esteem can achieve that speed in third gear and still 2 more gear to go,Esteem AC was also awesome .Later on they start with Kenwood make music systeem which was fab at that time
2nd gear, 106 Kmph, third gear all the way upto 160kmph ... It was a very tall geared car
I bought 3rd owner estemm before 2 years with my pocket money 30,000 at age of 18 and sold it due to money problem in 6 months but in future i will earn money and buy one more time esteem ❤
In 2009 my father's bought esteem after selling his maruti 800... Merko bhot rona aaya tha jabh papa ne esteem sell kri thi 😭 aaj bhi yaad aati h ho esteem

2003 mpfi g13bb ,1.3 lakh kms driven,
still runs like butter on roads with 19 kmpl , surprisingly no issues whatsoever

I still remember when my father used to tell me that he bought a second hand esteem when he watch me getting excited when ever I see cars pass by
He bought it second hand from his school principal
It was blue in colour and also had a spoiler
We drove it for 7-8 years then he sold it and upgraded to swift
Currently we are at our 4th car but still I miss my first car

I still own one. It's a very engaging and enjoyable car. Delivers about 15 kmpl in city and about 20 kmpl on the highway.

I loved esteem.. we had driven esteem more than 21 years and it was the best experience..! Companies are working Today's 3 cylinder, but maruti engines are the best in class..! I miss esteem alot..!!

It was my dream car. I owned it for 14 years. and I really loved it enjoyed it's driving especially on long drive in fact it was closed to my heart, but due to unavailability of spare parts, I had to disposed it of. But even after selling it, I miss it. And again I would prefer this car, if Maruti Ltd. manufactures this car.

Being a esteem owner I like the video. Some things that might help you and what i felt could be improved are :
* be less dramatic
* enthusiasm can be expressed without it
* the photos were irrelevant.
* and i felt the video should gave been made keeping in mind that all kinds of car owners like it. Like the bonus facts were irrelevant. None of the modifications were that wow.

Before 12 years I'm also owned this car
❤❤❤❤ I own a 1995 Esteem with just 40000kms genuine kilometres run. Recently got it totally refurbished at Samrudhi Automobile Peenya and though the painting quality was really good, in all other areas, agreed terms ( unfortunately oral) were down grade workmanship. Basic thing being, they had overhauled the power steering (aftermarket alteration) they had not bothered to fill the power steering fluid. Further it was agreed to replace suspension bushes which was never done. So much so, example of their lack of automobiles knowledge, they fixed the infotainment system in front of the ac vent. They could have taken away the audio unit which has become obsolete and shifted the ac vent in that place. If you really care for your car look for a better facility.
Nice read! Having a good facility for maintenance or repair is of utmost importance, I think maruti still services old Esteems?

It's a superb design indeed
One thing I noticed in my Esteem was that when you apply the top gear it automatically gain some extra power that can make your car a bullet from a barrel. However in other cars the top gear is the weakest in power. It is just to maintain your high travel speed with reasonably low engine RPM.
Unfortunately I sold it for 18K INR will fully loaded car to scrap.
From that day onwards I stopped loving cars and I will never purchase a new expensive car. I will just go with any second owner car that I can throw away any time.
Yes the scrapping policy is very unfortunate for many car lovers..
