2018+ Toyota Tundra TRD Pro Grill Swap

- TRD Pro grill swap on my 2021 Toyota Tundra Crewmax in Magnetic Gray. On the 2018+ Tundra the TRD Pro grill is different to make way for the TSS sensor. There are companies out there that offer a bracket to mount the sensor behind the grill, but I didn't trust that to give me good results with the TSS system. Because of that, I went with all OEM parts for the 2018+ grill which cost a bit more.
Part numbers I used -
53101-0C070-B0 - Grill
76180-0C030-B1 - Hood Buldge
53141-34010 - Plate in front of TSS Sensor
90183-06044 (QTY:2) - clips for TSS Sensor plate
Dear Congressman, your wife sent me. -A new subscriber. ;)
Haha. Glad she got a good laugh at my expense. She’s brutal! 🤦🏻♂️
The little trick with socket to attach the garnish was clutch! I just swapped mine out after watching your video. Thx
Glad it helped!
Outstanding job on the camera views and commentary on some of those issues. Great video
Such a natural on camera! Truck is aiight
I have a 2015 Mag. Gray / did the same thing, plug I just upgraded my SR5 non drl headlights to the brand new 2021 black TRD PRO led headlights with drl. Also installed a set of Diode Dynamics SSA Pro yellow fogs - incredible lighting upgrade! Great job!
I want to do this to my 2014 magnetic grey double cab. Fits perfectly on your 2015? I just did an LED conversion on mine but eventually want to do new housings instead. Just wanting to get rid of the chrome on the front and back as my exhaust tips are black.
It looks a 1000% better! Great job
Love the video. This this is my next addition. For the bumper ends I plastidipped mine. Took a little while to tape everything and the sensors but looks great compared to the chrome. There are also bumper end covers that you can add that are color matched but with the sensors can look a little indented in the sensor area.
Where do I get the bumper covers?
Looks awesome man. Nice job... love that trd pro grill...👍👍👍
Looks great man, nice job... awesome headlights too
Now you just need to get the covers to select the chrome on the bumper.
Looks great.
Video doesnt show you reconnecting the sensor plugs
that small hunk of plastic is 350 bucks holy shit
beautiful truck!
Great Video your truck looks bad ass. Have you had any issue with your tss sensor after installation?
Great Video! Seems pretty straightforward to me. After watching it, I decided to buy the assembly for my tundra but the link you provided, for your local dealer, says the grill is not for sale anymore. Guess I will have to check with my local dealer
Sparkparts.com they sell this assembly and many other upgrades for your Tundra. All OEM Toyota parts
@@berniemacc3242 Looks like it's shutdown?
Do you have a link where u bought all this?
Links to products?
Love it! Does the painted grill & bulge match or is it off slightly?
Any issues with the radar cruise? Realignment needed?
Perfect video. Can you please share where you got it from? I have a 2019 Tundra Crewmax.
Awesome to see we have the same color truck
Can I do this to my 2017 sr5 crew max? It looks awesome!!
Ordered one, the ding dongs didn’t send the letters. Now I have to wait several more days… post the virus it’s impossible to find a good company that stands by their service/product.
Lol I saw your wife's tiktok🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭
I am guessing that you purchased the OEM TRD pro grill through Toyota, is that correct?
Did you ever do anything with the chrome bumpers?
Great Video - Question I have a 2019 Tundra Limited, would like to do what you did, that being said went to my local Toyota dealer to inquire about the TRD Pro Grille they said they do not recommend any grille modifications as it will void my TOYOTA warranty, I only have 17K miles on the truck. Is Warranty an issue here or is the dealer I spoke to simply does not know. Any guidance is appreciated. Thx
If you are using Toyota parts I don't understand what they will void about your warranty. They may not warranty anything with the TSS sensor, but there is no "blanket voided warranty". They would have to prove your modification caused a part failure.
Just went through the same thing. They said they won't install it because my truck isn't a TRD. Its just them being lazy
and not wanting to calibrate it
What’s the part number on the sensor cover plate that is 350$v?
Did you have to recalibrate your sensor?
How much was the grill..
Good for you buying the unit from Toyota directly. Most say fuck it and go third party. Did Toyota give you any issues trying to order the TRD grill? I've heard stories of dealerships asking for VINs and denying the part to people with non TRD Tundras and Tacos.
I’m big on OE parts for my vehicles. I don’t think there’s any merit to those claims. Most dealerships are just happy to sell some parts.
@@mgarcia7685 I actually just had 3 dealerships deny me because I don't have a pro.
I just called my local dealer and the parts guy said if u don’t own a trd they won’t sell it because Toyota wants to keep it original but that I could find them online with 3rd party vendors
The paint want match it will be way darker yup way off I bought one I was pissed the color is so fair off
Do they come painted?
Hey can you show more of your is300 thank you .
Just posted a video about it yesterday, check it out!
Where i can order this grill with painted surround?. My Tundra is the same color than your.
This is a dealer that is local to me and their prices are pretty awesome. I get nothing from them, just a place I found online. I included all of the part numbers I used in the description. Good luck!

I have a 2021 Tundra with the same 1794 grille. I was told by my local Toyota dealer that I would need to take it for a swap to a TRD grille because they use different sensors for 2021 v. previous years. Does your TSS have any issues? Any recognizable issues?
Starting at the 6:48 mark I explain what's going on with the TSS sensor and how to transfer it over. On the grill you have it is mounted behind the Toyota emblem. The TRD Pro grill has a new provision for that, but its the same sensor just swapped over. Good luck, I would give it a go yourself, its an easy swap!
@@mgarcia7685 I’ve seen a number of swap videos and it looks straight forward enough. The only hesitation I have is if I get any TSS error messages. It doesn’t sound like you have any.
@@davidpineschi7794 Nope, no errors and I did not have to recalibrate the system. I work for a Lexus dealer and was prepared to do the calibration, but it wasn't necessary. Everything works perfectly.
Does the TSS sensor have to be plugged into something?
I addressed that in the video. It’s mounted to the grill under the Toyota logo.
Hi what about the sensor?
I addressed that in the video. I swapped it to the new grill.
Wow!?!?@🤮 What a gas guzzling ozone killer. 😲
Damn Karen! Why so hateful on such a beautiful truck?
@@kevinfischer9296 probably owns a dodge. 🤣
