This brought tears to my eyes, as I was watching the guitars (my favorite part) at the end, and saw Chris and Al, and that Paul was playing, then caught a glimpse of Dave for a moment.
I just like saw this a few hours ago. They where running alover the place. It was in Seattle and I think it was the best. My dad will see it soon too. And I know I will see them next year. If they come back...
Kristen has such a sweet, angelic voice, I love her so much, she's so awsome! I love seeing her on tour, this is one of my fav songs!!!!!!!!!! Going in favs!!!
This band is something else. Very very impressive work. I get the feeling it would get old after a while but am DEFINITELY going to see them live next chance I get.
I saw them at GM Place in Vancouver the day before and it was my first time seeing them in person and indeed I was amazing by how well the production was. I got the cheapest tickets for not bad seats amazingly and it was definatly worth the money, concidering all that electricity used.
This was my first Trans-Siberian Orchestra experience and I must say I enjoyed it! Good stuff... I can see why it has 5 stars. They are playing close to me in the near future, perhaps I will attend =) Thanks for posting
You can tell this wasn't on tour. The tour groups are mixed up. Most of them I think are on the east tour, such as: Paul O'Neill (guitar), Chris Caffery (guitar), and Jennifer Cella (vocals). However, Al Pitrelli (guitar) and Jane Mangini (female keyboardist) are west tour. This was probably at a charity event or something on TV. Last year I saw them do something for a BBC channel. Anyway, this rocks, and Jen Cella has an incredible voice. Can't wait to see them live Dec. 9th.
That's Danielle, one of the members of the female portion of the group. And she's far more attractive in person, I know. :-D I had the opportunity to meet her on Thursday night in Raleigh.
No matter how bad the others sounded, the one we saw was a little itty bitty thang and she sounded as amazing as the recording but this one is a little better...but just a little.
Well, not bad lighting, it's just that when I saw them, the centre had waaaay too many lights, and so I guess I was expecting more than what they had here.
Hate to be the spoil sport but this would only be spectacular if it was in the original key. Any soprano can sing the above notes all day long. But the original key was what made the Queen of the Night aria really difficult, in F, right on the break to the register, making it easy to crack on the high F. That's why only a select few can sing the original aria. But other than that it's a great song.
The only meaningful Christian prog rock I've heard is Ramses (Space Hymn) from the early 70s (with Godley & Creme). I'm a huge Electric Light Orchestra fan, too, and this is just about the lamest orchestral/classical rock I've ever heard. Making their career on overblown Christmas music? At least ELO also knew how to get funky, Jeff Lynne had sense of humor (and one of THE AMAZING rock voices), and he never came across as such a wanking guitar soloist!
My wife went to see them with some friends, and my folks keep telling me I should go see them, so I had to check them out, at least online. My wife was less-than-impressed by the style of music, but said the light show was impressive. My comments were snippy, I admit, but I guess this just doesn't cut it for me when it comes to my idea of what the holiday season is all about. Too glitzy and over-the-top and not spiritually meaningful.
I agree. Much much better in concert. Here it looks lifeless and has no energy(and here they have no stage). Why have the blond sing on TV? The little opera singer they tour with would have been much better.
This is my favorite song by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. My dream is to be able to perform with them someday.
I was there too! That was a sick concert. And I almost cried when Steven Tyler came out. Haha
This brought tears to my eyes, as I was watching the guitars (my favorite part) at the end, and saw Chris and Al, and that Paul was playing, then caught a glimpse of Dave for a moment.
just saw them in grand forks north dakota from the second row, completely amazing, second time seeing them and I hope they come again next year.

Two more days until I get to see them for the 6th time!

Her voice is also, calming, and inviting and kind, and sweet, loving, and more. I love the west tour!!!!! Go Kristen!!!!!!
i was there too - the view from the balcony was spectacular! they were in Winnipeg the following day but i couldn't make it :(
yea,she even sang this while she was running down to the stage! that was such an awesome concert.
I saw them too! They were so cool!!!
i saw this in seattle for my birthday... I loved how she ran and sang at the same time

Great piece played here!
This was my first Trans-Siberian Orchestra experience and I must say I enjoyed it! Good stuff... I can see why it has 5 stars. They are playing close to me in the near future, perhaps I will attend =) Thanks for posting

The vocalist is actually Danielle Landherr.
i saw them in the izod center (Formerly the continentinal arena) and the rocked i even saw the whos lead singer with them
this is my fave TSO song
8) im gunna see them in Cincinnati!
i cant frekin wate!!!

Great song!
Third try to answer klamhammer :) The pianist at stage right is Jane Mangini, a TSO regular. (Other responses have never appeared after a few hours).
i dont usually listen to this type of music but this is realy good
I love this
its my favorite remix by them
yeah that's Skolnik
these guys and gals are all college friends
Great stuff h
Mozart was definately a rocker!!!!
This Is Not the music I normally listen to but this is incredible the TSO is awesome
muy muy bueno,very good
an orchestra i actually like :-)
My guess is either Danielle Landherr or Jill Gioia, if this was shot last year, when Jill was still touring with them
That is Al Pitrelli's wife, Jane. Al's playing the lead guitar
need to post the song back to reason pt 2 from the lost christmas awesome song
Just about the only metal I'll listen too. some metal counds like I could play it, and I don't play guitar, but TSO is amazing.
omg. we have one of their CD's playing at where i work and the sound she's making, i could of sworn it was a instrument or sound machine of some kind.
It's opera actually. A friend of mine sang the original from Mozart's Magic Flute in college.
Just one question...what's the name of that singer? Her voice is crystalline...absolutely charming.
No, I mean it doesn't have enough. I went to the one in the Scottrade Center, they had too many lights on
Aw! She didn't do the scream at the end!
Interesting... I noticed the reeds in the background; was this for a tv christmas special?
Katalyzt
No matter how bad the others sounded, the one we saw was a little itty bitty thang and she sounded as amazing as the recording but this one is a little better...but just a little.
it was filmed in a tv studio how could any of you guys have been there? plus it was lip synced! the CD was just played in the background
That isn't Al's wife. She plays keyboards. She is hired in to sing for TSO.
Isn't that Alex from Testament (on the Les Paul)?
Chris Caffery.
What show was this from?
is that alex skolnick on the les paul?
but if you listen, you can tell that though he did miss the last piece there was no drum.
Well, not bad lighting, it's just that when I saw them, the centre had waaaay too many lights, and so I guess I was expecting more than what they had here.
First minute or so sounds like a juxtaposition of "Best I Can" by Queensryche and Mozart's Magic Flute. Still great, though :)

yeah the video sucks but the cd just kicks but
There's one track w/2 handed tapping that kills it is so fluid and smooth!
im guessing your right,
seeing as how live recordings suck
that blond is NOT an opera singer - she is one of their backup singers. Chris could have lip synced it better :)
It was so powerful live!
I think you mean opera. Oprah is a talk-show host........
figures

This is a good song, but its my least fave of all TSO's videos.
how is this borin!? I'd like to see u play something better than tht!!!

This place has bad lighting
very very lip synced
"islamic sensibilities" is that an oxymoron?
im sorry you have no sense of taste
