John Sears was a great pseudo villian character. He really played the role well and added a lot to season 4. I wish we had seen more of him. He played a great handsome douchebag frat boy who stirred things up.

Only until this season (partly). I think after she got with Brandon she began dressing and having a non juvenile look, both in hair and clothes. And I don't think it was because of those days fashion because most of the rest of the girls kept on looking sexy and juvenile (Donna, Valerie, Claire, Gina).
Why do I take advantage that my favorite people will live forever…The news of Shannon death hit me hard even knowing she had stage 4 cancer….She fought a good fight & I will always miss her….Rest in Power ❤

@@chaddeez8446 Throughout the first seasons you can see him read (for fun!) or refer to stuff he has read and was inspired by, thinkers, poets, such as Byron, Blake, Hobbes, Bukowski, Rimbaud, Baudelaire etc. Clearly the college experience did not fit his persona then, other then some literature and poetry classes he did not take any of it seriously. Also he did not care much to fit into the mold of a society, nor did he need the money to attain financial independence. I think the reason why he did receive his college degree later on (season 10?) was to show a sign of commitment and growth, as to prove a point to his previous self.

When somebody dies it should not be seen as a contest of who comes up with the best eulogy of sorts, there could be plenty of reasons as to why he has not yet publicly responded to her passing, assuming he even intends to do so via ways of public media.
People grieve in different ways ; Brian and Ian were the closest to Shannen of the pack! The others turned their backs on her at some certain point but those 2. I am like that i won't be able to post anything. When a former colleague who I was very close to died: i could not post anything i just kept crying even people who knew us together called i only just kept crying. When i finally had the courage to open the memorial website all i could do was post our pictures together. Some people post for personal reasons not all are sincere; some take time, some will never even post anything

He barely finished high school and not because he wasn't smart. He was a rebel and was too cool for school. The frat house wasn't his scene at all.
