I always wondered what makes different engines have distinctive sounds. I can't even figure out why a flat-4 sounds different from an I-4 (they both have two power strokes per rev, should sound the same!), but what could possibly make a BDA or BDC sound different from other four bangers? The shape of the ports? The shape of the combustion chamber? It's not he manifold or exhaust, because they sound the same even when aftermarket parts are included.
There's not many running MD engines, as there's not many people that can afford to fork out 30k for one! A lot just run Pinto's, set of 45/50's hanging off the side and you'll be laughing with 200+bhp!
check out "Simon Mcginley" trust me if you love mk2 you will love this he is a nutter and can drive a mk2 over the limits at all times,never seen anyone do the things he can in a car...trust me check him out makes these lads look like learners.

There is a warm up and cooling down procedure for the engine box and diff, u also have to heat the brakes on the way out to the stages, tyres are the same. So many different types for climate on the day. It's like driving on ice till u get heat into the tyres
