Btw John, Kurt Sutter said in an interview, that the audience should assume that the FEDs or local authorities or both are very present between episodes! The “Hollywood License” was working! And as far as not being authentic in origin, the show was in frequent contact (from conception to the first film rolling to the last season) as to not step on toes of any outlaw or regular MC (not just the HA, despite having direct guidance from them since day one).

I'm not convinced the #13 patch stands for methamphetamine as young Mike say's. I was told back in the late 70's
by some N.Y. bikers that it stood for the letter M as Mike said. They said M stood for motorcycles or marijuana.
The first time I heard it stood for methamphetamine was on some 'Gang Land' show on TV in the early 2000's.
I always thought they wore 13 because it looked unlucky or a number you wanted to stay away from.
For the same reason many wore swastikas. Meaning 'screw you if you don't like it'.
A lot of bikers used to want to look 'radical' back then. I guess it could mean anything you want at that point.
If Danny D. doesn't want to talk about it, I'm not sure I want to even know what it means. Ha ha

The origin of bikers wearing swastikas ss bolts and German helmets started with the original mc’s starting directly after ww2. They were taken off of dead nazis and worn as badges of honor for confirmed kills. Then tradition took over and the real meaning was lost

Jesus christ your first question is wrong. No the Outlaws werent the first. The 1% clubs were created LONG before the outlaws even formed. They were formed after a world war by vets.

Not really! Outlaw clubs did kind of exist but after Hollister in '47 when the AMA used the term to describe the criminal element the true outlaw clubs took it as a badge of honor.
