I see another one that’s been interested in the Avars. Sadly in my games even when I ally the Moygers as a Edo Duke and help them subjugate Khazaria the Avars are usually gone after a Bulgarian forms Pannonia.

I like how after the collapse of the Ilkanate/Chagatai (they seem to have merged) they seemed to get more of Persia.
Also The Mongol Empire could've made tributaries out of the vassals that broke free from it in china, hence why maybe you couldn't call the one ally in because they counted as a vassal?

I dont ever really do it because i dont typically start next to big enemys but when someone has or gives a hostage they cant declare war on eachother. Who ever has a hostage gains extra perstige as well.

@@SnapStrategy Sweet! I'd love to see a video about it. I've run through about 200 yrs using it on my own. It made me use completely different perks than I usually do, and made pilgrimages super important.

I mean it is accurate that the steppes particularly in Mongolia have some of the worst terrain to fight in the game. It is downright inhospitable even today.
