Wow!!! You just blew the roof off when handed those tools. CS2 just got way better. Can't wait to see what cities you make in it now. And now FewCandy has a new decal poster in CS2, good for you, well deserved.
There is a solution to the random color variation of assets. Mod called Asset Variation Changer. Once you have the mod, its disabled by default and you have to enable it in the options, then in game use arrow keys to change between the variations of the asset.
This is one of the best farmland detailing Ive seen thus far. Ive personally used layers of surfaces on fields to give the soil a little bit of gradient to make it look somewhat realistic.
@@fewcandy Thank you for your great videos. This game is super rich in potential for further modding. We need like an uber decal and surface tool that can create gradients, such as longside gravel roads using a combination of layered surfaces and decals. The surface parimeters/edges need to have slightly jagged edges (could be with the help of a parameter and a random variable ). These surfaces and decals by the likes of sully are completely changing the realism of how textures appear in this game, we just need a mod to automate some of the processes/ways we use them such as along the sides of railway ballast. Additionally, we really need control over the spawning/hiding of buildings in our specialist industries.
It’s so easy to tell how excited you are about these mods, and rightly so!! Hopefully this brings a bit of a new found enjoyment to the game more generally

Modders and asset creators made CS a success. It's a shame that CO ignored their efforts in creating CS2. These mods have solved most of my issues with CS2 bland textures. Now, if my favorite asset creators can recreate their CS assets or create new ones, I will give CS2 another try. We're getting there, but not there yet. Thanks to the modders and thanks to you for showing us what we can now do. Great video.
It would be nice to see a really nicely designed hedgerow, ie slightly wild looking around a base hedge but not all filled in. This would be a really nice rural road or farm field edging. Something a little broken up. I feel this would be a detail you'd love to use. Props on the ditch use, I think you're the first creator I've seen do that on a farm. An asset of roadside ditch + wild hedge would be awesome!
As soon as I saw the teaser for the mod I thought “FewC is gonna be over the moon I’ll bet!) Been dying to see what you and Egg do in CS2 for real and thanks to the mod makers, we can!
Thanks Tigon, and thank you for all of your input on this! So this was actually in Few Orleans... it may return yes or we may start a fresh with all the detailing options open from the start, haven't quite decided, watch this space!
Hey Few,great build. I use a mod called Asset Variation Changer to help switch through an assets different colors. Works on fences, buildings, etc. Keep up the great builds. Looking forward to more!
Definitely! Most of this is functional like this, with only the exception of the fields drawn with a surface (two of them are actual grain farms) and the cow shed!
Love to see it. That's what I was hoping for to become possible in CS2. This is the sort of thing that should have been in the base game. I'll never understand the choice to focus on pointless features like being able to follow Cims rather than the customisation of cities.
hoping it lets us remove outbuildings on fields and ore and oil and all that-sometimes they just look stupid when they are randomly placed by the game. I don't know if they will keep growing back though
Just wondering if you could add the "tire wear" or the edge of gravel as a network across fields to indicate where vehicles access the field? Would this affect the functionality of the field?
Omg... this mod may just be enough to make me play CS2 again.... stellar work by the mod creators, amazing the community can do better than PDX, they should all be instantly employed by PDX to fix the rest of the game 😂
