@@hansolo631 The comics actually answered the question of how Superman is able to lift such large objects without them breaking apart under their own weight. The writers explain many of Superman's powers come from his Bio Electric Aura, which acts as a sort of second skin/invisible forcefield around Superman. It's why Superman is mostly invulnerable, and also why his suit can withstand the same damage he can because the skin tight fabric is close enough to his skin to also be passively protected by the bio field too. It's why his cape gets constantly torn and destroyed, because the field usually doesn't extend that far. Note the words "Usually". Superman can in fact due to his immense training extend this bio field when he wants/needs to such as when saving individuals, flying or moving at high speeds with people, or lifting incredibly large and delicate structures, for example a submarine. Does it make any sense realistically? Hell no, but we are talking about comic book superheroes

@@asimhussain8716 Superman can't save everyone. And he's aware of it. And he torns him apart inside more than the average person knows about the character. The simple realization of him not being able to be everywhere even led him to stop doing stuff off-Earth at some point. And that's for the things he could be there for but isn't due to something else. Then there's the things that he can't stop because humans being are flawed creatures who need to learn instead of having a quick fix: Gotham is such an example, a city Superman can't handle both because there's too much going on at any given time, and because even if he stopped every criminal in a night, nothing would change as long as the nature of the Gothamites itself changes. The best Superman can do is inspire others to pick themselves up and try to do their own part into doing what he does on a larger scale, so he must give priority to the things no human being can possibly handle and ignore what he can't be there for despite not wanting to, despite being forced to hear all that he has to ignore.
@@asimhussain8716 Even the man of steel can not be everywhere at once. He most likely has to tune it out and has spent learns learning to control his powers.
@@asimhussain8716 I'd say the character is established enough that we can make a few assumptions along these lines, though the show would do better to establish these sorts of things with a throwaway line here or there. That said, I've seen comics where this is exactly how powerful his hearing is--he can hear what people are saying on the far side of the Earth. I can't recall which one for certain, but I think it was the Superman clone in Astro City who feels so much guilt about not being able to save everybody that he considers taking an extra half second to fly around the planet to be both his personal self-indulgent pleasure (he loves to fly and never but never does for mere pleasure) and a nearly unconscionable waste of time.

Who is the CGI team on this show? This is blockbuster movie level stuff. I don't know what the differential in production cost there is compared to other superhero shows, but they've got to step up their game.
HBO Max is not co-financing the show. At the moment, it is entirely a CW show. Before Superman and Lois premiered, CW was trying to make a deal with HBO Max about co-financing future shows, like the one they just reached with Stargirl. S&L has a bigger budget because the heads of CW wanted to "show" the heads at HBO Max that they are able to make quality content, which apparently is working.
CoSA VFX is actually the VFX team behind the show. They actually worked on big titles before which includes: - Swamp Thing - Lucifer - Cowboy bebop - The 100 - Stranger Things - Night School - DC legends of tomorrow - Gotham - Penyworth - Westworld - Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Man what a team. Its good to know that The CW finally hired another vfx team other than Encore VFX (which made the CGI of the flash and Supergirl) Maybe because they knew that Encore VFX is working on too many projects and their CGI isnt great for a show like Superman and Lois.
Just awesome! The scenery, the story and the environment is so interesting to watch. Great to see how they credit Superman as a true hero. I love the applause the crew gives to Superman
@@TheHeavenman88 Superman doesn't get as much love when it comes to bringing him to the small/big screen as Batman or Spider-Man....Lois & Clark came out in '93 and Smallville didn't come out until '01, and now this in 2021....
The kind of strength you would need to have to maneuver a submarine of that magnitude is mind boggling. Wow the way he carried it effortlessly without struggle.
The best explanation I found for this is that he actually defeats gravity when he flies and he can affect things around him as he gets in contact with them. Think of the first flight scene in Man of Steel. Things started levitating around him even before flying. Same way he can stop a plane from falling by holding it by the nose and not have it collapse. He is extending hia flight power to the objects he lifts.
@@Corksy that's the actual comic explanation. He has 'tactile telekinesis' that he unconsciously uses to make big things he lifts keep their shape. This was what was grafted onto the 90s superboy, who actually learned to control it more directly than clark and do things like touch the ground and make it explode and stuff like that. I like it frankly as it does help get around the problems in him lifting and stopping things that large.
During John Byrne’s Man of Steel run back in the 80s he eluded to that. Superman found that objects seem to be lighter when he’s flying with them. His sunlight powered cells generate a bio telekinetic field. This field allows him to fly makes him invulnerable and allows large objects to hold their shape while he carries them.
@@Corksy So if he touches you, you're weightless ? Doesn't look that way .. you don't see the bodies, the limbs of people he's carrying floating around like in 0 G. So, that explanation is a nice try, but not quite there yet. Problem #2: even if he negates the gravity that's acting on the sub, he still has to deal with the HUMONGOUS amount of WATER pressing down on the sub. So he still has to push the sub upwards, against the force of water. Bottom line: he's pushing up, the water's pushing down, result -> the sub gets broken. Problem #3: Balance. Ignoring the above issues (let's say the sub doesn't break), his body is so small compared to the sub, that it's like trying to balance a baseball bat with a pen. You have to be precisely in the middle to do that, and he somehow gets it right on the first try, no adjustement needed. Yeah, yeah, I know I'm to nitpicky for this type of show, but I just can't help myself, I can't not notice flaws.
Now this is exactly how Superman should be and needs to be, a man who is always there at the first call of trouble and a true symbol of peace and justice. Because in a movie there is immense pressure to have the arc of a story, and there is little time to show things like this that really define superman. Notice the same issue in the Avengers movies.

@@MrNelahem Doomsday may have been done to death already in other media like Smallville, Batman V Superman and Krypton, but in my opinion he has rarely been done right nor have the writers understood the significance of the story and the after mass. When people think of the Death of Superman storyline, the first thought most would have regarding it is it's most famous for killing the Man of Steel for the first time, something which shook not only the World of comic books, but shook the DC universe. Superman VS Doomsday is merely a plot device for the main point of the storyline, what would a World without Superman look like? The meat of the story is about asking can anyone fill the void left behind by Superman, in which we see characters like Steel and Superboy arrive on the scene and step up. It's about trying to live up to Superman's example and we see just how important Superman is for the first time in universe when he is no longer around. The show has already established the World loves Superman, and Anderson's Meta's I think will play a role in this trying to replace Superman, only to fail publicly and cause more casualties as well as create global tensions. @@TechGamer-pq1gu didnt say anything to the contrary...
I like how overpowering his super hearing is even compared to the comics. I think he trained a lot of his senses in all these years on Earth. Another Kryptonian couldn't do the same on earth.
Another Kryptonian can but it would take the same amount of time to master their powers.
@@asimhussain8716 Well i talk of Supes in general because Superman's hearing is even more OP than in this show, in general

The pure joy when the mean said “Superman saved us.” is really an amazing scene.
Who is the CGI team on this show? This is blockbuster movie level stuff. I don't know what the differential in production cost there is compared to other superhero shows, but they've got to step up their game.
Hbo
HBO Max Co Fund the show and the VFX Company that does alot of WB movies are doing the VFX for Superman and Lois
Rest of arrowverse is CW, superman and Lois is HBO. if I'm not mistaken, they have like double the budget
CoSA VFX is actually the VFX team behind the show.
They actually worked on big titles before which includes:
- Swamp Thing
- Lucifer
- Cowboy bebop
- The 100
- Stranger Things
- Night School
- DC legends of tomorrow
- Gotham
- Penyworth
- Westworld
- Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D
Man what a team.
The special effects in this scene is sooooo good!!!!

@@TheHeavenman88 Superman doesn't get as much love when it comes to bringing him to the small/big screen as Batman or Spider-Man....Lois & Clark came out in '93 and Smallville didn't come out until '01, and now this in 2021....

0:02 Dad moment 😂😂😂
🤣😂
The kind of strength you would need to have to maneuver a submarine of that magnitude is mind boggling. Wow the way he carried it effortlessly without struggle.
I mean his strength is limitless! Carrying this is like carrying a grocery bag for him 😂
The best explanation I found for this is that he actually defeats gravity when he flies and he can affect things around him as he gets in contact with them.
Nice to see Clark Kent using X-ray vision, one of my favorite abilities from Superman

Such an amazing scene. To the makers of Superman and Lois, thank you for producing such a great scene for us viewers. It looks incredible and realistic. I don't think there's ever been a scene in a live action version of Superman where he saves a submarine and lifts it way up in the air. Bravo!
How the hell are they doing Superman more justice than they have in the movies... and on a CW show of all places?!
Because in a movie there is immense pressure to have the arc of a story, and there is little time to show things like this that really define superman.

The last scene in this episode reminded me of when the world was slowly being introduced to doomsday. Which make me wonder has superman died in this universe if not then we are in for one hell of a season.
It kind of also made me wonder if it could’ve been evil Superman from John/Natalies world.
@@Kayoss13212 i'm hoping its something like this Doomday has been done to death already and superman and a huge list of other powerful enemy's they can use to challenge him. And even with the budget and great FX team I think it will still be difficult to do Doomday so he looks comic accurate and not like a giant golem from the movie.
I think this show could really do some Justice to this plot, and the showrunners have already confirmed multiple villains this season.
@@jonarbuckle778 and not to mention steel is in this universe, and one of the sons could be superboy, eradicator already exists in the universe and they could expand on that so i think its almost bound to happen at this point
